Although he received some support, there has been some criticism as well. Philadelphia Phillies players such as Nick Castellanos and Trea Turner felt their teammates <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/mlb/phillies-news-cristopher-sanchez-gets-gesture-philly-after-all-star-snub">Cristopher Sanchez and Ranger Suarez were more deserving</a>. Misiorowski <a href="https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/45741450/brewers-rookie-jacob-misiorowski-brushes-criticism-mlb-all-star-game-selection" rel="noopener">reacted to the backlash</a> ahead of Tuesday’s All-Star Game, via ESPN.</p><p>“They’re not upset with me,” Misiorowski said. “The last five weeks have been insane. I thought the All-Star break would be a chance to sit down and reflect. Now we’re here.”</p><p>The 23-year-old has been phenomenal despite a limited sample size. He has pitched to a stellar 2.81 ERA across 25.2 innings of work. Misiorowski has added 33 strikeouts during that span. Wins and losses may not mean what they used to for pitchers, but Misiorowski’s 4-1 record is telling of his success in the big leagues up to this point.</p><p>His impact on the Brewers has been immense. Milwaukee is 56-40, trailing the Chicago Cubs by just one game in the National League Central.</p><p>Another element of Misiorowski’s game is his pitching repertoire. It looks like he’s throwing a wiffle ball on the mound. This move was just in time before the MLB All-Star Game scheduled for Tuesday in Atlanta.</p><p>Without question, it was an <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/mlb/milwaukee-brewers/brewers-news-jacob-misiorowski-breaks-silence-all-star-selection">emotional moment for Misiorowski</a> given his meteoric rise in a short time.</p><p>However, <a href="https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/article/mlb-is-sending-wrong-message-by-adding-jacob-misiorowski-to-all-star-game-222246321.html" rel="noopener">not all are on board</a> with the addition of “the Miz” considering that he has only pitched in five games.</p><p>But MLB writer Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6492094/2025/07/14/mlb-all-star-pitchers-jacob-misiorowski/" rel="noopener">provided thoughts of his own</a> to explain why Misoriowski was selected and provided incentives on how to get others to participate.</p><p>In his article, Rosenthal laid out that MLB pitchers aren’t part of the fan vote. Plus, out of all the position players selected, Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez will not play due to an ongoing battle with injuries.</p><p>Rosenthal made the case that pitchers should be included in the fan vote. Then, Rosenthal suggests that MLB offer players more money to play in the All-Star game.</p><p>“Members of the winning team each receive $25,000, in addition to any bonus specified in their contract,” he said. “All players also get a $1,000 stipend, six complimentary tickets to the Home Run Derby and All-Star Game, plus first-class airfare and accommodations for themselves and two guests. They also receive a gift from the player’s league, applicable in-season meal and tip allowance for three days and merchandise made available by the league’s business partners.”</p><p>He then called for the league and players’ union to work this out at some point in the future.</p><h2><b>Who won’t be at the MLB All-Star Game</b></h2><p>As for Misiorowski, Rosenthal doesn’t disagree with the critics of his selection. However, he said there is a reason for his presence.</p><p>“Those who want to complain about Misiorowski’s selection are not necessarily off base.” Rosenthal said. “But remember, “the Miz” will only be in Atlanta because others chose not to play.”</p><p>Misirowski is replacing Chicago Cubs pitcher Matthew Boyd in the All-Star game.</p><p>Boyd <a href="https://www.marqueesportsnetwork.com/mlb-all-star-roster-matthew-boyd-jacob-misiorowski-new-york-yankees/#:~:text=But%20within%20that%20same%20story,(@WatchMarquee)%20July%2012%2C%202025" rel="noopener">won’t play</a> due to his scheduled start against the Yankees on Saturday. The <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/mlb/washington-nationals/predicting-nationals-next-big-trade-before-deadline">Nationals reliever is one of the biggest names on this year’s trade market</a>. Unfortunately for him, the Milwaukee Brewers had his number in the ninth inning of the second game of their series. After giving up two runs to an Andrew Vaughn double, Finnegan was walked off by Caleb Durbin.</p><p>The rookie third baseman <a href="https://x.com/ClutchPoints/status/1944167999373816176" rel="noopener">turned on an inside fastball</a> and punched it into right field. The RBI single scored Andruw Monasterio, who was pinch-running for Vaughn. After inheriting a 5-3 lead, Finnegan fell apart one out away from extra innings. Despite that the 25-year-old came up clutch with his first walk-off hit of his major league career. On a team with Jackson Chourio and William Contreras, Durbin has been a quiet contributor to an under-the-radar contender.</p><p>The win is a big one for the Brewers as they continue to track down the Chicago Cubs in the National League Central. If they complete the series sweep against Washington, they will enter the All-Star break on a seven-game winning streak. It would be the second-longest in Major League Baseball, behind only the Boston Red Sox if they win on Sunday as well.</p><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/mlb/new-york-yankees/yankees-news-new-york-devin-williams-brewers-trade">Milwaukee acquired Durbin in the deal that sent Devin Williams to the New York Yankees</a>. So far this season, the Brewers appear to have gotten the better side of that trade. However, the infielder is just one part of Milwaukee’s success in 2025.</p><p>In a highly competitive NL, the Brewers own the first wild card spot. Unfortunately for them, the competition for those playoff berths is fierce. Rookies have been added to the All-Star game in the past, but after only five pitching appearances, this opens up a giant can of worms for the future of the Midsummer Classic.</p><p>There is a lot of negative talk sent Misioriowski’s way, but it isn’t his fault that he was selected. He’s done nothing but show out since the Brewers called him up. His last <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/mlb/los-angeles-dodgers/dodgers-news-shohei-ohtani-hails-jacob-misiorowski-standout">dominant outing against Shohei Ohtani</a> and the Los Angeles Dodgers further proved that notion.</p><p>Star outfielder Christian Yelich backed up Misiorowski about the All-Star decision. Here is what he <a href="https://x.com/AdamMcCalvy/status/1944084517192708221" rel="noopener">said about the young pitcher</a>.</p><p>“I understand why some people feel the way they feel, just because it’s a small sample. But at the end of the day … people want to be entertained. It’s a showcase of some of the best and most exciting players in the game. Miz is definitely that, right?”</p><p>Misiorowski is 6-foot-7, who can throw 103+ on the mound. Just as Paul Skenes was added last year, the league wants to see the young hurlers against the best of the best. Skenes ended up being selected to start, but that likely won’t be the case for Miz. After an 8-3 win over the Washington Nationals on Friday night, the Brewers have now won five games in a row and are closing in on the Chicago Cubs at the top of the NL Central.</p><p>Before the game, the Brewers had a late addition to the All-Star team in the National League. It’s an honor. There’s a lot of older guys around that have been around for a lot longer than I have, so I just wanted to thank you for all the help you guys have given me to get through these couple of weeks that I’ve been here.”</p><p>While Misiorowski’s selection may be strange on the surface considering that he has only started five games, the numbers clearly show that he is worthy of the pick and will fit right in on the star-studded National League pitching staff. In five starts, the rookie phenom has a 4-1 record and a stellar 2.81 ERA.</p><p>Misiorowski has been a strikeout machine, sitting down 33 batters in just 25.2 innings pitched with just 11 walks. It has been very difficult for opposing hitters to make clean contact on him, resulting in just 12 hits allowed during that time.</p><p>The emergence of Misiorowski in the middle of the season is a big reason why the Brewers find themselves sitting at 54-40 with just two games to go until the All-Star break. After the Cubs had a substantial lead in the division race early in the season, Milwaukee has cut that gap down to just one game. If it can sneak into the playoffs, nobody will want to see Misiorowski on the mound when the stakes are high.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

In his free time, he very much enjoys binge-watching shows and playing video games.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">Milwaukee Brewers</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>The <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/mlb/milwaukee-brewers/brewers-news-jacob-misiorowski-mlb-debut-triple-digit-fastballs">Milwaukee Brewers rookie right-hander Jacob Misiorowski</a> has made Major League Baseball history.</p><p>Misiorowski became <a href="https://x.com/AdamMcCalvy/status/1943863601481363635" rel="noopener">the fastest player ever</a> to be named to an All-Star Game based on fewest appearances, per MLB.com’s Adam McCalvy.</p><p>The 23-year-old was officially named a National League All-Star on Friday night, replacing Chicago Cubs left-hander Matthew Boyd, who is unavailable due to a scheduled Saturday start.</p><p>At just 23 years old, Misiorowski surpassed the previous record set by Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes, who made the All-Star team in 2024 after 11 appearances.</p><p>Through five starts, Misiorowski holds a 4-1 record with a 2.81 ERA and a 0.90 WHIP. Over 25.2 innings pitched, he has struck out 33 batters and walked just five. His fastball has averaged 99.3 mph, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/mlb/milwaukee-brewers/brewers-news-milwaukee-calling-up-top-pitching-prospect-who-throws-103-mph">with 89 of his pitches registering at 100 mph or higher</a>. His most recent performance came against the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers, where he struck out 12 over six innings, surrendering just one earned run in a 3–1 Brewers victory.</p><p>The announcement of Misiorowski’s selection was made during a team meeting by Brewers manager Pat Murphy, <a href="https://x.com/AdamMcCalvy/status/1933354721500123527" rel="noopener">leaving the young pitcher visibly emotional</a>.</p><p>“I’m speechless,” Misiorowski told reporters. “It’s awesome. It was very unexpected, and it’s an honor.”</p><p>This historic All-Star nod places Misiorowski among a select group of just 30 first-time All-Stars this season, and he is one of 16 replacements added to the roster due to schedule conflicts or injuries. He joins fellow Brewers pitchers Freddy Peralta and Trevor Megill on the National League squad.</p><p>Of this year’s 80 total All-Stars, Misiorowski becomes the 30th first-time selection and the 16th replacement player named to the rosters.</p><p>Boyd, whom Misiorowski replaced, was set to make his first All-Star appearance at age 34, but his upcoming start against the Yankees made him unavailable for the game. Misiorowski is not scheduled to pitch again before the break, leaving him ready and eligible to participate in the event.</p><p>Misiorowski will now travel to Truist Park in Atlanta, where he’ll join teammates Freddy Peralta and Trevor Megill, making the Brewers one of the few teams to send three pitchers to the 2024 All-Star Game. He then covered FAU Sports for The Palm Beach Post.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">Arizona Diamondbacks</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>As the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/mlb/seattle-mariners/mlb-rumors-mariners-diamondbacks-trade-history-zac-gallen-deal">Arizona Diamondbacks are in an immense amount of rumors</a> before the trade deadline, the team has been connected to the Milwaukee Brewers in the latest reporting from Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/mlb/arizona-diamondbacks/diamondbacks-rumors-zac-gallen-merrill-kelly-trade-update">Diamondbacks pitchers Zac Gallen and Merrikk Kelly have been in speeculation</a>, but it’s also third baseman Eugenio Suarez that has been getting buzz with the Brewers.</p><p>In Friday’s column by Rosenthal, he would say how Suarez <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6487388/2025/07/11/alex-bregman-red-sox-trade-mlb-notes/" rel="noopener">“makes sense”</a> for Milwaukee, though the list of other teams interested also fits his play. He points out the Brewers since they “could offer a controllable starter in return,” as Suarez is in the midst of an impressive season, earning All-Star honors.</p><p>“Suárez, an All-Star for the second time, also makes sense for the Milwaukee Brewers, among other clubs,” Rosenthal wrote. “The Diamondbacks, even if they choose not to be pure sellers, could move Suárez to open third for Jordan Lawlar. The Brewers, working off their current surplus of starting pitching, could offer a controllable starter in return.”</p><p>“For such a pitcher, though, the Brewers almost certainly would want more than two months of Suárez,” Rosenthal continued. “And the Diamondbacks, as they face the potential losses of righties Zac Gallen and Merrill Kelly in free agency, might at least need to consider such a deal.”</p><p>There’s no wonder why Suarez has immense interest around the majors as he has 29 home runs to go along with 75 RBIs (fifth in MLB) and a .249 batting average.</p><h2><b>Despite Brewers link, Eugenio Suarez wants to stay with Diamondbacks</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Eugenio-Suarez-with-Arizona-Diamondbacks-1.jpg"><figcaption>Ron Chenoy-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>Despite the rumors, the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/mlb/arizona-diamondbacks/diamondbacks-news-eugenio-suarez-trade-declaration-amid-rumors">Diamondbacks infielder Suarez doesn’t want to leave</a>, as said before, with the talks around the league of a potential deal. While he acknowledges the business of baseball, he would express how <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6470340/2025/07/03/rosenthal-justin-verlander-notes/" rel="noopener">“comfortable”</a> he currently is with Arizona, per Rosenthal.</p><p>“I don’t want to leave Arizona,” Suarez said. “Obviously, we know how the business of baseball is. But right now, I feel comfortable. I feel every time we win a game, we’ve got a chance to make the playoffs. Every time we lose, maybe something like that pops in my mind. Which is not good for me. I don’t want to get traded.”</p><p>Besides Suarez, Gallen and Kelly have been two pitchers who are currently in rumors to be dealt with the threat of the team losing them to free agency. With them getting better with each start, teams could be lining up for the starters, though Rosenthal would say before it is <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6487388/2025/07/11/alex-bregman-red-sox-trade-mlb-notes/" rel="noopener">“unlikely”</a> that they deal both.</p><p>“On the flip side, if the Diamondbacks sell, they are unlikely to trade both Gallen and Kelly, according to sources briefed on their plans. The DBacks already are without Corbin Burnes and Jordan Montgomery. If they subtract both Gallen and Kelly, they might not have enough young pitching to get through the season,” Rosenthal reported.</p><p>Arizona is currently 46-48, which puts them fourth in the NL West as they start the final series before the All-Star break against the Los Angeles Angels on Friday night.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
