He joined ClutchPoints in 2022.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">MLB</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>Corbin Carroll has virtually locked up the National League Rookie of the Year Award as he continues an incredible season with the Arizona Diamondbacks — and the 23-year-old <a href="https://www.mlb.com/news/corbin-carroll-becomes-first-rookie-to-have-25-homers-50-stolen-bases" rel="noopener">added some history</a> to his inaugural campaign on Wednesday night.</p><p>In the D-backs’ 7-1 win over the San Francisco Giants at Chase Field, Carroll stole two bases and hit a home run. He became the <a href="https://www.mlb.com/news/corbin-carroll-becomes-first-rookie-to-have-25-homers-50-stolen-bases" rel="noopener">first rookie in MLB history</a> to hit 25 or more home runs and add 50-plus stolen bases.</p><p>“He also joins Cesar Cedeno as the only two players to hit 25 or more homers with 50 or more stolen bases in their age 22 or younger season,” wrote MLB.com’s Steven Gilbert.</p><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/diamondbacks-news-corbin-carroll-reaches-mike-trout-territory-with-insane-hr-sb-rookie-feat" rel="noopener">It’s an incredible feat</a> for the Seattle native, but he made it clear that personal accomplishments are secondary compared to the team’s ultimate goal.</p><p>“I’m proud of it,” Carroll said after Wednesday’s game. “But at the same time, you know, we talked about it as a team, this is the time of the year we’re not pulling for personal accomplishments. That’s kind of out the window at this point. And all that matters is today and the win.”</p><p>With the victory, the Diamondbacks improve to 81-72, and currently hold the No. 2 National League wildcard spot with just nine games remaining in the regular season. Arizona hasn’t qualified for the postseason since being swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2017 NLDS.</p><p>“This is the position we played all year to put ourselves into,” Carroll explained. “And now the fun part. This is the part where you kind of reap the rewards of putting in all that work throughout the season to get to this point. And now it’s just kind of emptying the tank and [putting the] foot on the gas.”</p><p>It’s been a riveting month for fans of the franchise; the D-backs have won five games in a row after completing a three-game sweep of the Chicago Cubs and following it up with two more wins against the Giants, all but ending the latter’s playoff hopes.</p><p>After two series in New York and Chicago against the Yankees and White Sox, Corbin Carroll and the Diamondbacks will return home for the final three games of the year against the Houston Astros. The star outfielder added to his terrific first season in the big leagues Wednesday night when he finally <a href="https://twitter.com/MLB/status/1704611779173601678" rel="noopener">hit a milestone</a> no rookie in the history of MLB had managed to pull off before, according to ESPN Stats &amp; Info.</p><p><i>“Corbin Carroll becomes the first rookie in AL/NL history to hit 25 home runs and steal 50 bases.”</i></p><p>Carroll <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/giants-vs-diamondbacks-prediction-odds-pick-how-to-watch-9-20-2023" rel="noopener">entered Wednesday’s game</a> against the San Francisco Giants with 24 home runs and 48 stolen bases in the 2023 MLB regular season, but he made sure that the night wouldn’t end without him hitting his 25th home run of the year and recording his 49th and 50th stolen base of the campaign. He stole his 49th base when he swiped the bag in the first inning to reach second base, which led to a run later on. Then he did it again in the third inning to capture the second base before scoring a run moments later. Caroll did not stop making loud noises right there, as he sent one deep for a solo home run in the seventh inning to extend the Diamondbacks’ lead to three runs, 4-1.</p><p>Corbin Carroll is indeed having a great rookie season in the big leagues, but the real immediate goal is still to help the Diamondbacks secure a spot in the nearing 2023 MLB playoffs. The former <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/diamondbacks-corbin-carroll-enters-mike-trout-territory-with-insane-hr-sb-feat">needed only 134 games</a> to hit 25 home runs and steal 35 bases. Trout needed just 128 games to accomplish that feat.</p><p>Corbin Carroll made his MLB debut with the Diamondbacks last year after three years in the minor leagues. He has been making a statement with Arizona this season. He has batted .281 with 22 home runs, 64 RBIs, and 40 stolen bases in 2023. To nobody’s surprise, Carroll earned his first MLB All-Star selection last month.</p><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/diamondbacks-corbin-carroll-agree-to-historic-eight-year-111-million-contract-extension">Carroll signed</a> a lucrative eight-year, $111 million contract extension with the Diamondbacks on March 12. He has been earning every single penny of that deal. Thanks to his efforts, Arizona has now won seven games in a row. The Diamondbacks’ 68-62 win-loss record is their best in fours seasons. Not only that, but Arizona currently occupies the National League’s second Wild Card slot.</p><p>The Diamondbacks have made just six postseason appearances in their 26-year existence. Three of those postseason appearances came in their first five seasons from 1998 to 2002. That memorable run included a World Series victory over the New York Yankees in 2001.</p><p>With Corbin Carroll on board, the Diamondbacks are in a good position to end their five-year postseason drought. The <a href="https://twitter.com/BleacherReport/status/1689070021421535232" rel="noopener">two rival outfielders discussed</a> a number of different topics, including the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/guardians-news-jose-ramirez-explains-why-he-swung-at-disrespectful-tim-anderson" rel="noopener">Jose Ramirez-Tim Anderson brawl</a>.</p><p>“The other day in Cleveland, there was a brawl that went on,” Betts said. “When you’re playing a sport, trying to feed your family, you’re around the boys all day, every day for eight months, things just kind of boil over. It could be anything, right? That was kind of crazy. I would have been the umpire. He started in there, and he backed out of there… TA (Tim Anderson) is my boy. He (Jose Ramirez) got ’em.”</p><p>Corbin Carroll then told Mookie Betts that Arizona had a meeting in their clubhouse about potential fights following the Ramirez-Anderson brawl.</p><p>“We had a team meeting about it,” Carroll said. “Players only. We said if someone gets knocked out on the field, there is no way that there is… nothing thrown after that. No one fought after. You gotta protect your boy, right?”</p><p>Betts and Carroll then came to a brawl agreement if one were to ever break out between the Dodgers and Diamondbacks.</p><p>“If there is a fight that breaks out with us, I love you guys to death, I’m just gonna be pulling people out of there,” Mookie Betts told Carroll.</p><p>“So that’s our agreement, if we ever brawl, we’ll come hold each other back?” Carroll responded.</p><p>The two then shook hands, and Betts concluded the segment by stating, “truce.”</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

We are at the four-month period, and Corbin Carroll is the favorite to win the NL Rookie of the Year, as he is having a great season.</p><p>Carroll is currently the overwhelming favorite to win the NL Rookie of the Year Award, according to <a href="https://sportsbook.fanduel.com/navigation/mlb?tab=player-awards" rel="noopener">betting odds on Fanduel</a>. Now, he hopes to continue playing well and show the world why he is the best choice for this award. But the fact that he is the overwhelming favorite means you should probably place that bet now because the odds might get worse as the race gets closer to ending. Thus, there is more urgency to make a bet before it’s too late. Let’s take a look at the numbers.</p><p>Corbin is batting .276 with 21 home runs, 59 RBIs, and 77 runs. Moreover, he is leading the charge and helping power the Diamondbacks as they fight for a playoff spot. But Carroll has some competition. Thus, he still must finish the season strong and fight off several players. The biggest threats to his crown are Matt McClain and Elly De La Cruz. Significantly, McClain is batting .305 with 11 home runs, 39 RBIs, and 51 runs. De La Cruz is hitting .269 with seven home runs, 20 RBIs, and 38 runs. Additionally, he has 17 stolen bases. But Carroll has been consistent all year. Amazingly, he just joined an exclusive club as <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/diamondbacks-corbin-carroll-enters-mike-trout-territory-with-insane-hr-sb-feat" rel="noopener">he has reached 25 home runs and 35 stolen bases</a>. Carroll remains the favorite to win this award.</p><h2><b>Powering the Playoff Race for the Diamondbacks</b></h2><p>Corbin Carroll has been a favorite focal part of the playoff race. Significantly, the Diamondbacks would not be in the race without him. Carroll will have more motivation to play well with the DBacks still in contention. Ultimately, they are in the playoff hunt. Carroll will have some tough games against the Minnesota Twins, Los Angeles Dodgers,  and San Diego Padres coming up. However, he will also have games at Coors Field against the Colorado Rockies on the docket. There will also be games against the Cincinnati Reds. There will be plenty of chances to do more damage at hitter-friendly ballparks.</p><h2><b>Corbin Carroll Has a Good Spot in the Lineup</b></h2><p>Corbin Carroll is the third hitter in the lineup. Moreover, he slots between Ketel Marte and Christian Walker. Marte is batting .292 with 18 home runs, 57 RBIs, and 73 runs. Meanwhile, Walker is hitting .262 with 22 home runs, 68 RBIs, and 56 runs. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. is also in the lineup. Yes, he is struggling. But Gurriel is still hitting .252 with 16 home runs, 58 RBIs, and 43 runs.</p><p>Carroll does not have to worry about pitchers intentionally walking him because there are other dangerous hitters in the lineup that can do damage. Furthermore, he has the wheels on the basepaths that can scare any pitcher. Opposing pitchers don’t want to put him in scoring position because there is a high likelihood he will score. Hence, there is little chance of pitchers giving him free passes. It will also give him more chances to hit the baseball and then get on base and produce more damage with his wheels.</p><h2><b>Other Corbin Carroll Accolades</b></h2><p>Corbin Carroll has had so many accolades this season. Now, let’s look at some of his statcast. Carroll has a 113.8 maximum exit velocity. Ultimately, that puts him in the top 10% of the league. Carroll also has a WOBA of .377. Remarkably, that puts him in the top 7% in the majors. Carroll has hit 14 of his home runs off fastballs. Additionally, he has slugged five home runs off breaking balls and two on offspeed pitches.</p><p>Carroll also won the 2023 June NL Rookie of the Month award. Also, he won the June 11 NL Player of the Week award. Carroll is fifth in the majors in runs. Furthermore, he is fourth in the NL in triples with four. Carroll is also second in the majors in stolen bases. Therefore, he has thrived in so many categories that it has given him a significant advantage in the NL Rookie of the Year Award race.</p><p>It is why you should place your bet now.
