Misiorowski averaged 99.5 mph on his fastball and set a Brewers franchise record with a pitch clocking in at 102.4 mph. He threw 19 pitches over 100 mph — a jaw-dropping total in just his third MLB start. With a 1.12 ERA, a 3-0 record, and only three hits allowed over 16 innings, he’s making history at every turn.</p><p>While Skenes managed four strikeouts, he lasted just four innings, watching his ERA rise from 1.91 to 2.12. It was a rare off-day for the Pirates’ top arm and a defining one for his emerging counterpart.</p><p>The showdown drew the largest crowd of the year at American Family Field, as fans packed the stadium to witness what many believe could be the start of baseball’s next great rivalry. The righty has now gone three straight games without giving up a hit, including five shutout innings against Paul Skenes and the Pittsburgh Pirates.</p><p>Misiorowski, also known as “The Miz”, has yet to blink in the major leagues. The Brewers’ new star put Minnesota Twins infielder Willi Castro on the ground with a slider in his second career start. <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/mlb/milwaukee-brewers/brewers-news-jacob-misiorowski-outduels-paul-skenes">He and Skenes battled on Wednesday</a> in a clash of two young stars.</p><p>Skenes had nothing but nice things to say about Misiorowski’s performance. The rookie’s start to his MLB career is eerily similar to how Skenes dominated when he made the jump to the major leagues. Brewers fans hope that Misiorowski’s career trajectory is the same as Skenes’ as well.</p><p>As he continues to dominate as a pro, “The Miz” will only get more popular. Skenes has dealt with constant attention since bursting onto the scene in 2024. He had <a href="https://t.co/RAlOD20GI0" rel="noopener">some helpful advice</a> for Misiorowski as he continues to navigate his rookie season, according to MLB.com writers Adam McCalvy and Ryan Herrera.</p><p>“If he does what he’s supposed to do and what everybody thinks he can do, it’s not going away anytime soon,” Skenes said. “So, get used to it and find ways to find peace.”</p><p>Misiorowski is already experiencing the constant media attention his dominance has sparked.</p><p>“It was one of those things where you wanted to try to calm yourself down as much as possible and stay off the Internet,” Misiorowski said. “I feel like everything that I swiped was like, me and Skenes, me and Skenes, me and Skenes.”</p><p>One of the big things Murphy has done to help Misiorowski is managing his workload. In three career starts, “The Miz” has not pitched more than six innings.</p><p>“We just want to be smart about it, that’s all,” Murphy said. “Like we would with any pitcher, whether he’s throwing 99 [mph] or 92. It’s like training a marathon runner, you don’t just run all 26 [miles] even though you probably could.”</p><p>Murphy’s plan has been effective so far this season. <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/mlb/milwaukee-brewers/brewers-news-jacob-misiorowski-first-125-years-insane-achievement">Misiorowski’s efforts have helped Milwaukee</a> go 7-3 over their last ten games. Plus, the one he had was graded a perfect 10, and it’s the only one in that condition.</p><p>His asking price was $3,000. However, Dunne talked them down in price, asking, “Didn’t one sell for $2,200?” The seller was firm in his price, but Dunne then offered $2,850, which the seller took.</p><p>She paid a hefty price, but she has one of the rarest cards of her boyfriend. I would assume it was money well spent by the LSU star gymnast.</p><h2><b>The rare Paul Skenes baseball card Livvy Dunne bought</b></h2><p>The card Dunne bought was a Bowman’s best anime card from 2024. It features artwork at Skenes in the style of anime, and the one she bought was one of five in the world.</p><p>Skenes and Dunne have been dating since 2023. They have been very supportive of each other’s ventures. Dunne was in attendance of Skenes’ debut with the Pirates in 2024.</p><p>Originally, Skenes began his collegiate career playing for the Air Force Falcons. He then transferred to LSU, where Dunne was a gymnast.</p><p>He was then selected by the Pirates with the first-overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft. His MLB debut came in May 2024 against the Chicago Bears.</p><p>Skenes was named an All-Star in his rookie season. He also won NL Rookie of the Year and was named All-MLB First Team for his incredible 2024 campaign.</p><p>Dunne recently retired from gymnastics after being part of the LSU Tigers from 2021-25. She was a member of the US Junior Women’s National Team in 2017 before her college career began.</p><p>She has also become a huge social media star. Dunne’s TikTok account has over eight million followers, and her Instagram has garnered over 5.4 million followers.
