In the end, the Dodgers came out on top 5-1. The Blue Jays are looking to win their first World Series title since 1993. Not only did he record 10 strikeouts in six shutout innings, but he also hit three home runs to lead the Dodgers to a huge 5-1 Game 4 win over the Milwaukee Brewers to punch L.A.’s ticket to the World Series.</p><p>Glasnow’s last start came in the Dodgers’ 3-1 Game 3 win over the Brewers. He ended that contest with eight strikeouts while allowing three hits, three walks, and one earned run through 5.2 innings pitched. Glasnow was near-flawless in his previous start, so fans were hoping for more of the same against the Brewers at home.</p><p>However, things quickly went awry for Glasnow in his first two innings. After the relatively peaceful starts from Snell and Yamamoto, Glasnow struggled heavily to start the game. The Dodgers pitcher spent 38 pitches to get through the first two innings, allowing a run in the second inning. Glasnow looked shaky, and the Brewers were ready to capitalize on that weakness.</p><p>That window would close pretty quickly. Glasnow stood his ground in the next three innings, striking out eight batters and refusing to surrender a run after.  He would finish the game with just three hits and the single run allowed in the second inning. The Dodgers pitcher reacted to his game, saying <a href="https://x.com/SportsNetLA/status/1979003302785306699" rel="noopener">he’s just glad he could contribute.</a></p><p>“Just being able to contribute to the team is awesome,” Glasnow said, per SportsNet LA on X.</p><p>Glasnow’s first two innings were a complete change from Games 1 and 2. While Snell and Yamamoto went through the first two innings relatively peacefully, Glasnow had to labor through the first six batters. He gave up a walk and a single in the first, then gave up an RBI after a triple and a single in the second inning. It felt like the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/mlb/los-angeles-dodgers/dodgers-news-roki-sasaki-makes-mlb-history-with-seamless-transition-to-dodgers-closer-role">Dodgers’ shaky bullpen would be challenged early.</a></p><p>Thankfully for the Dodgers, Glasnow was able to recover and finish 5 2/3rd innings. That was enough for the Dodgers, as a timely hit from Tommy Edman and a throwing error by the Brewers gave them a massive 3-1 lead in the sixth. Well, you've come to the right place.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">Los Angeles Dodgers</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>After watching <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/mlb/los-angeles-dodgers/dodgers-news-blake-snell-turns-historic-nlcs-performance-1956">Blake Snell turn in the game of his life in Game 1 against the Milwaukee Brewers</a>, throwing eight scoreless innings while facing off against the minimum, Dave Roberts has revealed the Los Angeles Dodgers’ pitching plans for the rest of the NLCS.</p><p>With <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/mlb/los-angeles-dodgers/dodgers-news-dave-roberts-lineup-nlcs-game-2">Yoshinobu Yamamoto set to take the mound in Game 2</a> before the series heads to Los Angeles, Roberts reveals when his other two aces, Tyler Glasnow and Shohei Ohtani, <a href="https://x.com/BNightengale/status/1978222048628429285" rel="noopener">will pitch next</a>, as reported by USA Today’s Bob Nightengale.</p><p>“Tyler Glasnow will pitch Game 3. Shohei Ohtani will pitch Game 4,” Nightengale wrote. “This allows Glasnow to start a potential Game 7 and use Ohtani out of the bullpen in Game 7.”</p><p>Now, as Nightengale noted, the idea of having Glasnow and Ohtani go in Games 3 and 4 isn’t just about Game 3 and 4 but also about Games 5, 6, or even 7, should the series goes that long. With just three more wins needed to get back to the World Series thanks to the masterful efforts of Snell and Blake Treinen in Game 1, the Dodgers might not need to call on “Snellzilla” again this series, or might need to go all-in on Game 7 in order to give him the ball once more against the AL Champions.</p><p>Positioning Glasnow to start in Game 3 and 7 is a smart call considering how his last start looked against the Philadelphia Phillies, all the while positioning Ohtani to still contribute on the mound if need be, even if it would have to come at the end of the game when it seemed like it would be unlikely to return to the plate in regulation.</p><p>With Game 2 rapidly approaching and fans at the American Family Field looking for revenge after having to watch eight scoreless innings before a failed comeback attempt in the ninth, it’s clear Yamamoto will have his work cut out for him in order to get LA another win in Milwaukee. But regardless of the Dodgers’ record heading into Game 3, it’s clear they have a solid plan for the rest of the series, not to mention the World Series, if it comes to that point.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
