Things have only grown more concerning due to the involvement of the Klaw’s uncle and lead representative Dennis Robertson, against whom the NBA had previously launched an investigation back in 2019.</p><p>Now, it has been claimed that apart from being heavily involved in the entire Clippers-Aspiration saga, Richardson also made problematic demands to multiple teams during Leonard’s free agency tenure after the 2019 season, including the Los Angeles Lakers. Kawhi eventually signed a three-year deal with the Clippers.</p><p>However, Richardson told the Raptors during this time that “they needed to match at least $10 million per year in extra sponsorships income,” per The Athletic. Richardson also told the Raptors that Kawhi “didn’t want to do anything for the money,” despite this being <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6617814/2025/09/10/adam-silver-clippers-ballmer-investigation-bold/" rel="noopener">a clear violation</a> of the collective bargaining agreement of the NBA.</p><p>However, the same demand was not made to the Lakers during the team’s discussions with the player. Instead, Richardson demanded a specific amount of off-court money that could be promised in advance, which is also against CBA rules.</p><p>Simply put, the accusation is that Dennis Richardson demanded money for Kawhi Leonard’s ‘no-show’ jobs from the Clippers. They accepted, and a subsequent $1.75 million payment to <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/los-angeles-clippers/clippers-rumors-aspiration-kawhi-leonard-minority-owner">Kawhi Leonard has even been directly linked to the Clippers’ part-owner</a> Dennis Wong by Pablo Torre.</p><p>However, he made the same demand before to the Raptors, and a similar demand for a promise of “off-court endorsement money” to the Lakers. The player, of course, ended up signing for the Clippers instead.</p><p>After the initial three-year deal ran until 2021, Leonard then signed a four-year, $176 million extension in 2021, followed by a three-year, $149 million deal that now runs until the end of the 2026-27 campaign. I got a technical after two minutes of play, because I said ‘Hello.’ That shouldn’t happen in a quarterfinal, no matter who the player is. To not even get a warning – honestly, I don’t know what the referees were thinking. The fourth foul at the beginning of the third quarter, something like that has never happened to me,” Doncic said via Basketnews.</p><p>Doncic has never been shy of letting the refs in any league know how he feels, and this was no different. That means he may be quick to get a technical, which could hurt the team more than help.</p><p>Other than the referees, Doncic believed that he could have played better in the fourth quarter to help get the team a win.</p><p>“I’m angry, 100 percent angry,” Doncic said. “I could have done more in the last quarter, I forced shots, I could have been better in key moments, I didn’t make the right decisions… Hats off to the guys, we showed we can win. We all fought and gave our best.”</p><p>With Slovenia’s EuroBasket run over, the next step for Doncic is to get ready for the NBA season. Doncic averaged over 30 minutes in the tournament, but he says that he’s ready.</p><p>“No panic. I’ll have a few days to rest, then the new season starts,” Doncic said.</p><p>It was a nice summer run for Doncic, and everybody is excited to see what he will do with the Los Angeles Lakers.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

Unfortunately, we were not successful, but I think we can leave this championship with our heads up”.</p><h2><b>Luka Doncic looks forward to rejoining the Lakers</b></h2><p>Now, Doncic can look ahead to his first full season with the Los Angeles Lakers. He went 13-of-14 from the free throw line and added seven rebounds and four assists.</p><p>Wagner and company <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/los-angeles-lakers/eurobasket-news-luka-doncic-teammate-painful-admission-loss-germany">survived the 39-point explosion of Doncic</a>, who had been nothing but dominant throughout the tournament with his offensive genius. But his effort was not enough, with Slovenia suffering a tough loss to Germany, 99-91.</p><p>Slovenia started hot, outscoring Germany, 32-21, in the opening quarter, with Doncic scattering 10 points. But Die Mannschaft buckled down on defense in the second period to close the gap at halftime, 51-45.</p><p>Germany, the reigning champion of the FIBA World Cup, continued its aggressiveness in the second half and eventually completed the come-from-behind win to advance to the semifinals.</p><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/los-angeles-lakers/eurobasket-news-poland-star-luka-doncic-slovenia-reality-check">It was a harsh reality check for Slovenia</a>, which was booted out in the quarterfinals for the second straight edition of the EuroBasket. After their bitter defeat, Doncic’s teammates <a href="https://www.fiba.basketball/en/events/fiba-eurobasket-2025/news/germany-survive-lukas-39-advance-to-semi-finals" rel="noopener">didn’t hide their disappointment</a> but also tipped their hats to the squad, as quoted by FIBA.</p><p>“We were better throughout the game, or at least 37, 38 minutes. He shot 11-of-25 from the field, including 5-of-16 from three-point distance. The Los Angeles Lakers star added 10 rebounds and seven assists.</p><p>The 26-year-old guard was coming off a 42-point effort against Italy in the Round of 16.</p><p>Franz Wagner led Germany with 23 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. Dennis Schroder backed him up with 20 points, three rebounds, and seven assists, while Danie Theis chipped in 15 markers and nine boards. Unfortunately for Luka Doncic, his EuroBasket run came to an end on Wednesday as Slovenia was eliminated by Germany, 99-91.</p><p>Following Slovenia’s EuroBasket elimination by Germany, Luka Doncic took to social media to give a big shoutout to his national team teammates for their run these past couple of weeks. Doncic posted a team picture along with a few heart emojis and the caption, ‘proud.’</p><p>Slovenia was actually up by double digits after the first quarter, 32-21, but they were outscored by Germany, 78-59, the rest of the way. With the win, Germany advances to the EuroBasket semifinals in one bracket against Lauri Markkanen and Finland.</p><p>Houston Rockets star <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/houston-rockets/rockets-news-alperen-sengun-eurobasket-record-quarterfinals-win-poland">Alperen Sengun led Turkey to the other semifinal</a> matchup against Giannis Antetokounmpo and Greece.</p><p>In Slovenia’s loss, Doncic put up 39 points, ten rebounds and seven assists in a little over 32 minutes of play. Germany on the other hand was led my Orlando Magic star Franz Wagner’s 23 points and Sacramento Kings guard Dennis Schroder’s 20 points. Former NBA center Daniel Theis added 15 points.</p><p>With Slovenia now eliminated from EuroBasket, Doncic’s focus now turns to his first full season with the Lakers. Earlier in the offseason, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/los-angeles-lakers/lakers-news-luka-doncic-165-million-contract-extension" rel="noopener">Doncic signed a contract extension with the organization </a>keeping him in the purple and gold through at least until the 2028-29 season.</p><p>Doncic was traded to the Lakers ahead of last year’s trade deadline in what was arguably the most shocking trade in NBA history. He appeared in 28 games at a little over 35 minutes per game.
