Marcus Morris was the team's leading scorer before getting traded to the Los Angeles Clippers. The second-leading scorer is Julius Randle, also the highest-paid player on the team, and the best following the other forward's departure.

After Randle was RJ Barrett in his rookie season, averaging 14.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game. Barring a surprise from the Knicks' eighth overall pick in the 2020 draft (unless they trade it), Barrett will likely be the best player next season.
