It was Jamal Murray who led the way for the Nuggets, finishing with 52 points, and joining teammate Aaron Gordon in reaching a franchise record.</p><p>Jamal Murray became <a href="https://x.com/statmuse/status/1996405637216104863" rel="noopener">only the second player</a> in Nuggets history, alongside Aaron Gordon, to finish with at least 50 points while knocking down at least ten 3-point shots, as per StatMuse. Both of those games occurred this season, with <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/denver-nuggets/nuggets-news-aaron-gordon-50-point-game-unmatched-nba-history">Gordon’s coming back on Oct. 23 during a loss to the Golden State Warriors</a>.</p><p>In the Nuggets’ win against the Pacers, Murray finished with 52 points while shooting 10-of-11 (90.9 percent) from the 3-point line. He shot 19-of-25 (76 percent) overall, and also finished with six rebounds, four assists and one steal in 36 minutes of play.</p><p>That ended up being Murray’s third 50-point game for his career, putting him one 50-point outburst away from tying Nikola Jokic (4) for the franchise record of <a href="https://x.com/statmuse/status/1996405301407609087" rel="noopener">most 50-point games</a>, also as per StatMuse.</p><p>Coming into Wednesday’s game, Murray had appeared in 19 games for the Nuggets at a little over 34 minutes per game. He was averaging 23.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.1 steals with splits of 48.3 percent shooting from the field, 41.5 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 89.5 percent shooting from the free-throw line.</p><p>With the win, the Nuggets improved to 15-6, and they currently sit in fourth place in the Western Conference standing. The latter has been ravaged by injuries. <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/denver-nuggets/nuggets-news-david-adelman-rips-denver-home-skid">This leaves the Nuggets</a>, among many aspiring championship contenders, as perhaps the most likely team to dethrone the Thunder — especially when they’re flowing with so much confidence.</p><p>In fact, in an appearance on The Old Man and The Three podcast, Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon <a href="https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ugrYNjs1gR4" rel="noopener">has utmost belief</a> in his team that they’ll be the last ones standing come June in a playoff run reminiscent of their journey to winning the NBA championship back in 2023.</p><p>“At the end of the day, I believe, we’re going to be the ones that walk off with a win. We’ll be the last team to win. Everyone else is going to hold an L at the end of the season. Except for us. We’re going to be the ones to win at the end of the season,” Gordon said.</p><figure class="op-interactive"></figure><p>There is nothing in what Gordon said that should ruffle anyone’s feathers. This is the kind of mindset that anyone who wants to win a title must bring on a nightly basis, and to be fair to him, the Nuggets have so much talent, especially with <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/oklahoma-city-thunder/thunder-news-how-nuggets-took-championship-level">Nikola Jokic leading the way</a>, that making this kind of proclamation is far from the most egregious thing in the world.</p><h2><b>Nuggets look to make use of newfound depth to win it all</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Cam-Johnson-i.jpg"><figcaption>Bob Kupbens-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>Any team built around Jokic would have to intentionally throw for them to not be in championship-contending conversations. But the Nuggets went out and established a much deeper team around arguably the best active player in the NBA, and they certainly look like a team that could pose major trouble for the Thunder especially when they did so with a much shallower roster last season.</p><p>Of course, whether or not the Nuggets would be able to win the title isn’t entirely up to them. With <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/denver-nuggets/aaron-gordon-playing-tonight-nuggets-rockets-nba-cup-injury-report">Gordon leaving in the Nuggets’ NBA Cup group play matchup</a> against the Houston Rockets, there is now a timeline of how much time the two-way player will miss.</p><p>According to Shams Charania of ESPN, Gordon is dealing with a Grade 2 hamstring strain, where the goal is to be <a href="https://x.com/ShamsCharania/status/1992636910767136978" rel="noopener">“re-evaluated”</a> in four to six weeks.</p><p>“Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon has sustained a Grade 2 right hamstring strain and will be re-evaluated in 4-to-6 weeks, sources tell ESPN,” Charania wrote on X, formerly Twitter.</p><p>Gordon would only play three minutes in Denver’s win over the Rockets before being taken out, leading to the hamstring strain that he will miss time with.
