A member of the Los Angeles Lakers, Anthony Davis was born on March 11, 1993 in windy Chicago, IL.
He is officially listed as at 6' 10" and weighs 253 lbs. Most people, however, simply lump him in as a giant seven-footer.
After a storied career in high school at Perspectives Charter (IL), which actually included a stint as an undersized guard before a giant growth spurt, Davis committed to the Kentucky Wildcats as one of the top recruits in the country. It was under John Calipari where AD’s fame began to grow, as did his trademark singular eyebrow.
After a single season of dominating college hoops, Davis declared for the NBA Draft, chosen by the New Orleans Pelicans as the #1 pick in 2012. At the time, there were no doubts he’d be the top selection in the NBA Draft.
During his NBA career, Davis is a numerous All-Star. He’s also long been considered not only one of the best players at this position, but as someone redefining what a big plays like in the modern NBA.
Smooth, capable of hitting a jumper, and a true two-way player, Anthony Davis isn’t a man to be trifled with.
Before joining the Lakers in 2019, Anthony Davis played 7 seasons for the New Orleans Pelicans.
