She details the alleged rape in that lawsuit, which has two other plaintiffs in addition to Ware. Lamb and Ware were involved in a relationship prior to the incident in question, but had since reportedly broken things off.</p><p>The Warriors signed the wing to a two-way contract last October. In a season where they have lacked the bench artillery they were once renowned for, Lamb has been a valuable role player. He is averaging seven points while shooting nearly 38 percent from behind the 3-point line in 50 games this season.</p><p>Of course, his on-court contributions have done nothing to persuade the many people who want him out of the NBA entirely for his alleged crime. Lamb will now be playoff-eligible, as the Warriors prepare themselves for yet another postseason run.</p><p>The move comes a week after Lamb played his 50th regular season game with the Warriors, the maximum number games that a player on a two-way contract is allowed to play for its parent team. Lamb has averaged 7.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game for the Warriors this season while shooting 47.5 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from 3-point range.</p><p>Interestingly enough, Lamb doesn’t appear to be popular within the Warriors fan base.</p><p>However, that appears to be less about what players think of Lamb as a player than growing dissatisfaction with the decision-making of Warriors head coach <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/warriors-andre-iguodala-injury-draws-stunning-steve-kerr-admission" rel="noopener">Steve Kerr</a>, who is notorious for failing to give young and promising players such as Jonathan Kuminga or Moses Moody a consistent role. Lamb’s controversial off-the-court history may have something to do with that as well.</p><p>Going undrafted in 2020, Lamb was a two-time America East Player of the Year and led the Vermont Catamounts to three consecutive America East regular-season titles.</p><p>After the 2020 NBA Draft, Lamb signed a two-way contract with the Detroit Pistons. He appeared in 13 games for the Pistons during the 2020-21 NBA season, averaging 3.1 points and 1.4 rebounds per game. In Feb. 2021, Lamb was traded to the Houston Rockets in exchange for guard Dzanan Musa, averaging 4.3 points and 1.8 rebounds per game in the 21 contests that he appeared in.</p><p>The combo forward is not only an efficient scorer but a tenacious defender, qualities sure to appeal to a franchise trying to keep its dynasty alive.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

Once they hit that limit they either have to be signed to a standard NBA contract or they cannot appear again that season unless it’s in the G League. He connects a lot of our lineups when we play two big, we can have him at the three or we can play him at the four. He’s been really helpful for us this year and we’d love to get him on the roster and we’ll see what happens.”</p><p>The Warriors currently have 15 players under contract but Lester Quinones is on a 10-day contract and could be released to make room for Anthony Lamb on the regular roster. The suit states that Lamb “began screaming and insulting” Ware at an off-campus party, leaving them to discuss their relationship alone behind closed doors.</p><p>As their conversation ended amicably, Lamb “began having sex with Ware,” the lawsuit reads, penetrating her anally despite her “repeated” pleas to stop and cries of “no.” Lamb allegedly ignored her unequivocal denial of consent, telling Ware to “just take it” as he continued to rape her.</p><p>Lamb isn’t a defendant in the civil suit filed in U.S. District Court in Burlington, Vermont. The suit names the University of Vermont and several prominent school administrators, including athletic director Jeff Schulman, as defendants, accusing the parties of “deliberate indifference” to sexual assault.</p><p>The Warriors were aware of the allegations against Lamb upon <a href="https://twitter.com/WarriorsPR/status/1577739358798458881">signing him to a two-way contract</a> in early October.</p><p>“We checked with the NBA, we checked with the two teams that had prior signed him and didn’t hear anything as far as official charges or anything like that,” Golden State general manager Bob Myers told reporters on October 16th. “It’s tough because we take that very seriously. But at the same time, it’s difficult, because if somebody is accused of something but not charged or convicted and we then deny them an opportunity, is that fair, too?”</p><p>Myers went on to indicate that the Warriors were just following the letter of the law, also clarifying they wouldn’t have signed Lamb had the NBA office advised against doing so.</p><p>The <a href="https://www.sfgate.com/warriors/article/anthony-lamb-rape-lawsuit-17641233.php">organization struck a similar tone</a> on Thursday while responding to the accusations made against Lamb in the recently filed civil suit.</p><p>“Anthony is not a defendant in this recent lawsuit and, to our knowledge, he has never been charged with any wrongdoing in any legal case,” the Warriors said in a statement to SFGate. “Prior to signing Anthony in September, we did our due diligence with the NBA and his prior teams, as we do with all players. If any new information comes to light, we will certainly evaluate it and act accordingly.”</p><p>Lamb, 24, has emerged as a key bench player for Golden State in the season’s early going as Steve Kerr has searched for viable combinations of players in reserve units.</p><p>He’s been a full-time member of the Warriors’ rotation since early November, averaging 5.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game for the season at large while shooting 38.0% from three-point range.</p><p>The case to suspend Lamb until another independent investigation is conducted into the horrific allegations Ware has made against him needs no explanation.
