After sending Lonzo Ball to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a deal that brought back Isaac Okoro, it’s clear the Bulls are rethinking their backcourt plans and possibly getting ready for more changes.</p><p>According to ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel, both White and Dosunmu are <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/editorials/siegels-scoop-bradley-beal-jonathan-kuminga-nba-summer-league-intel">now attracting substantial trade interest</a> from teams around the league.</p><p>“Ayo Dosunmu and Coby White have drawn plenty of trade interest around the league, sources said. More teams have inquired about Dosunmu since before the draft than White. While the Chicago Bulls could wind up holding onto both guards and address their futures at the trade deadline, there is still buzz that exists regarding one of these players being dealt this offseason,” Siegel wrote.</p><p>White, 25, is coming off the best season of his career, where he averaged 20.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 0.9 steals across 33.1 minutes per game. His shooting efficiency has notably improved, 45.3% from the field, 37.0% from 3, and 90.2% from the free-throw line, resulting in a 60.1% true shooting percentage (TS%). His performance peaked during a 14-game stretch in March, where he averaged an impressive 29.1 points per game, earning him the Eastern Conference Player of the Month award.</p><p>In his six seasons with Chicago, White has played 422 regular-season games, posting career averages of 15.2 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.6 rebounds per game.</p><p>On the other hand, Dosunmu, also 25, may not have had a season like White’s, but his consistent contributions have not gone unnoticed. Dosunmu averaged 12.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 0.9 steals over 30.3 minutes per game during the 2024-25 campaign, while shooting 49.2% from the field, 32.8% from 3, and 78.5% from the line, with a 58.5% TS%. Over his 279-game career, he has posted averages of 10.2 points, 3.3 assists, and 2.9 rebounds per game.</p><p>This speculation comes at a time when the Bulls have limited salary cap flexibility. With over $153 million committed to salaries for the 2025-26 season, <a href="https://hoopshype.com/salaries/chicago_bulls/" rel="noopener">the franchise has roughly $1.5 million in remaining cap space</a>. White and Dosunmu are also both set to become free agents after the 2024-25 season, with current salaries of $12.8 million and $7.5 million.</p><p>The Bulls might be flying under the radar this offseason, but they’re quietly setting themselves up for a massive financial reset. Are more Bulls trades coming? Monday morning before NBA free agency, CHSN’s K.C. Johnson was on 670 The Score in Chicago to <a href="https://x.com/670TheScore/status/1939680642725220667" rel="noopener">discuss the latest</a> on the Bulls’ trade talks. Johnson revealed he’s hearing more about guard Ayo Dosunmu than Coby White.</p><p>“I have not heard Coby White’s name,” Johnson said. “That’s all I can say. That doesn’t mean he’s not going to get traded. … In my conversations with people that I talk to around the league, I’ve heard Ayo Dosunmu’s name way more than Coby White’s name.”</p><p>Johnson went on to say that he does think the Bulls are going to trade another guard after the Ball-for-Okoro deal because they want to re-sign Tre Jones, an unrestricted free agent. Jones played well in Chicago this past season after coming over in the Zach LaVine trade, though an injury ended his season early. There’s also the matter of Josh Giddey getting a new contract, which is a “priority,” making for a crowded backcourt if Jones does indeed return. Veteran Jevon Carter is back in the fold as well after <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/chicago-bulls/bulls-news-jevon-carter-makes-6-8-million-contract-decision-before-free-agency">exercising his player option</a>.</p><p>With all this in mind, it seems as if Dosunmu is the likelier trade option than White, at least based on what Johnson is hearing.</p><p>“I’ve got my antenna up over which guard is going to be moved, and I can just tell you from my conversations I’ve heard Ayo’s name more than Coby’s name,” Johnson continued.</p><h2><b>Ayo Dosunmu vs. Coby White trade</b></h2><p>Both Ayo Dosunmu and Coby White have one season left on their t<a href="https://www.spotrac.com/nba/chicago-bulls/yearly" rel="noopener">hree-year contracts</a>. Dosunmu is set to make $7.5 million, while White is at nearly $13 million. However, after White exploded in the last few months of the 2024-25 season, he’s in line for a substantial raise. Dosunmu, meanwhile, had somewhat of a down year and saw it end early due to injury.</p><p>White likely won’t extend his contract this offseason with the Bulls because he could get way more on the open market as a free agent in 2026. That should be taken into account in these trade talks, along with the question of whether White and Giddey make for a viable long-term starting backcourt. It’s unclear just what Chicago would need to make a White trade, with the assumption being it would require a huge offer. Is any team willing to make that kind of big offer to pry White away?</p><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/chicago-bulls/bulls-coby-white-posts-cryptic-ig-story-amid-trade-rumors">White raised eyebrows</a> with a cryptic Instagram post over the weekend, but as of right now, it seems as if he’s not going anywhere and that Dosunmu could be on the move. The Bulls have to find a way to start trending in the right direction, and they haven’t positioned themselves well in the NBA Draft to change their directory that way. So, the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/nba-stories/nba-rumors-heat-bulls-again-linked-to-jonathan-kuminga-sign-and-trade">Bulls are expected to make some big trades</a> this offseason. Someone from the core will be gone next season, and Coby White and Ayo Dosunmu are both <a href="https://x.com/CHSN_Bulls/status/1935006143048290755" rel="noopener">potential trade options</a>.</p><p>The Bulls are likely going to re-sign Josh Giddey this offseason, and they will also likely look to trade away some key pieces. Insider K.C. Johnson thinks that <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/chicago-bulls/bulls-rumors-insider-reveals-chicago-competitive-trade-desires">Chicago needs to make a decision and trade</a> either Coby White or Ayo Dosunmu.</p><p>“I’ve been saying for a while in my from my seat, they’ve got to try to look to trade either Ayo [Dosunmu] or Coby [White] because I think it’ll be very hard to resign both of them after next year, when they both have unrestricted free agency,” K.C. Johnson said on <i>The Chicago Lead. </i>“So I think you got to get out in front of things like that. What’s crazy is they value both those players highly, and they obviously are a big part of how they want to play stylistically, to your point, the stylistic change. So I think that’d be a tough decision to make, but that’s a front office’s job is to make hard decisions.”</p><p>If the Bulls are going to resign Giddey this year, they probably aren’t going to be resigning both White and Dosunmu next season. If a trade is going to happen eventually, it makes sense to do it now. Desmond Bane’s recent trade could have a big impact on the Bulls’ decision as well. If the Memphis Grizzlies can secure a huge package like that for Bane, can Chicago get something similar for White?</p><p>“I don’t have an answer to that in terms of what they’re planning on doing,” Johnson continued. “I think to your point, that is an accurate and fair question. What I would say is, first of all, Bane makes a lot more, so you’re going to get more back. And I would also argue that, I mean, as good as Coby White is, Bane is a much better defensive player. But yeah, I mean, again, you’ve got to make these hard decisions, because you’re not going to be resigning Josh Giddey this summer and Ayo Dosumu and Coby White after next summer. I just don’t see that. One of those players is <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/chicago-bulls/bulls-news-ayo-dosunmu-season-ending-shoulder-surgery">Ayo Dosunmu, who is now out for the season</a> due to shoulder surgery. It would be easy for Dosunmu to get discouraged because of the season-ending injury, but he is taking a more positive approach to the time off.</p><p>Ayo Dosunmu is going to have a lot of time off, as his recovery will extend into the offseason. He won’t play in a regular season NBA game until October, and he has an idea of <a href="https://x.com/KCJHoop/status/1897074506990280998" rel="noopener">how he will spend his free time</a> during the recovery process.</p><p>“Use this time away from the game to just find different hobbies, get connected to the Lord more, read more books,” Dosunmu said, according to a post from K.C. Johnson. “Find different things to do because I have so much time on my hands. Rather than look at it in a bad way, try to find light in the situation.”</p><p>Dosunmu has the right mindset regarding the injury. It is obviously disappointing that he won’t be able to be out there competing with his teammates, but it sounds like Dosunmu is going to make the most out of an unfortunate situation.</p><p>In the last couple of seasons, Dosunmu has emerged as a key player on this Bulls team. Dosunmu finished this season averaging a career-best 12.3 points per game, up slightly from 12.2 last year.</p><p>Dosunmu really started to break out last season, and his high level of play continued this year as well. It’s a shame that he isn’t able to finish out the rest of the season, but it will be exciting to see what he is able to accomplish once he is back to full strength.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
