While the players are having <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/miami-heat/heat-news-bam-adebayo-miami-detail-new-fun-offense-in-blowout-win-vs-grizzlies">fun with the Heat’s new offense</a>, certain stars, such as Bam Adebayo, aren’t fulfilled just yet.</p><p>Despite the Knicks focusing on slowing down Miami, which came in as the fastest team in the NBA by pace with 112.3 possessions per 48 minutes, by upping their man-to-man defensive pressure and clogging driving lanes, the team overcame the adversity. It was a slow start, but the Heat picked up their momentum in creating quick offense and capitalizing in transition with 31 fastbreak points, leading to the victory over New York.</p><p>The talk throughout training camp and the preseason has been about the team’s new philosophy on offense, with players citing the hard regimen they went through to keep up the pace. With the results showing through three games, Adebayo would tell ClutchPoints <a href="https://x.com/ZachWeinberger/status/1982635145640419521" rel="noopener">that he isn’t satisfied just yet</a> and that sustaining it throughout the season will be key.</p><p>“We’re not satisfied, we still want to keep this pace up throughout the whole season,” Adebayo said. “It’s not just the first five to 10 games; we want to do this the whole season, because when you build it as a habit and then you get into the next stage of the season, that’s when it really matters. And we’ve seen in the past how those can go towards us.”</p><p>“But having that resilience, that bounce back to, obviously, keep chipping forward,” Adebayo continued. I don’t think we ran a play today, and those are the type of wins that you enjoy, because, like I said, you don’t run a play? Led by <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/miami-heat/heat-news-bam-adebayo-does-best-stephen-curry-impression-4-1st-quarter-3s">Heat star Bam Adebayo doing his best Stephen Curry impression</a> from three-point range, the team’s new fast-paced style of play was on full display with the players reacting to their performance.</p><p>Adebayo started the explosive offense, scoring 18 of the team’s first 25 points, making four threes in the process, but the entire team got going, playing at a notably faster speed than before. This was an area of focus coming off last season, which marked another year of Miami ranking towards the bottom of NBA teams in regards to pace.</p><p>The team would score the third most points in franchise history, including the highest scoring half in Heat history with 86. Adebayo <a href="https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/nba/miami-heat/article312629587.html" rel="noopener">would describe how “fun” the offense is</a> at the current moment, according to The Miami Herald.</p><p>“Playing with a pace like this, you love to see everybody collectively having fun, everybody getting to touch the ball,” Adebayo said as he scored 24 points. “You can’t really scout plays for us. There are no plays. In the whole first half [Friday against the Grizzlies], I don’t think Spo ran a play. He recorded 17 points on eight of 12 shooting from the field with 10 rebounds and six assists, speaking about the new look on offense.</p><p>“I’ll say it’s a lot of fun,” Jaquez said. “It’s something we’ve been working on for a while. Something we’ve really bought into, I think, as a team. And you’re just seeing all that buy-in come to life on the floor. I think we’ve been due for a win like this.”</p><p>While a two-game sample size is not all that big, Miami has run a pace of 112.3 possessions per 48 minutes, which is the fastest in the league and is also third in the NBA with 24 fastbreak points. This season is different as he will be a key focal point on both sides of the ball, a bigger role to the ones he had in past years. He had a rusty start in the season-opener, having 15 points and 12 rebounds on 30.8% shooting against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night.</p><p>The star big man made a huge response in the second game. He <a href="https://x.com/ClutchPoints/status/1981884149070709061" rel="noopener">knocked down four shots from beyond the arc</a>, all in the first quarter. They improved to a 1-1 record with the victory, their first of the year.</p><p>Miami torched Memphis’ defense in the first half, scoring 44 in the opening quarter and 42 in the second period. They held the lead and never looked back, ultimately securing the win with how big the lead was throughout the night.</p><p>Rebounding and perimeter shooting played major roles in the matchup. The Heat dominated both categories as they secured 57 rebounds while knocking down 19 3-pointers. It wasn’t the case for the Grizzlies, grabbing 42 rebounds while converting 13 triples.</p><p>Eight players scored in double-digits for Miami, including Adebayo. He finished with 24 points, five rebounds, four assists, and a steal. He shot 8-of-19 from the field, including 4-of-8 from downtown, and 4-of-4 from the free-throw line. Nikola Jovic came next with 20 points and six rebounds, Kel’el Ware had 19 points and nine rebounds, while Jaime Jaquez Jr. put up 17 points and 10 rebounds. Norman Powell provided 15 points and six rebounds, and Simone Fontecchio contributed 14 points and four rebounds.</p><p>The Heat will look forward to their next matchup, being at home. As <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/miami-heat/heat-news-erik-spoelstra-delivers-no-other-choice-response-to-terry-roziers-fbi-investigation">Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra looks to move his team forward from the situation</a> while sending empathy to the guard, Rozier’s teammates, like Bam Adebayo and others, have sent their support.</p><p>Rozier’s arrest came on the morning after Miami’s loss to the Orlando Magic, 125-121, leading to the NBA putting the 31-year-old on immediate leave. Adebayo would speak after Friday’s shootaround about Rozier, saying the team has “full support” for him and even mentioned <a href="https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/nba/miami-heat/article312632014.html" rel="noopener">how it felt “weird” not seeing him</a>, according to The Miami Herald.</p><p>“You never want to see something like that happen,” Adebayo said. “For us, as a team, we stand behind him, full support. And like I said, the biggest thing for us is keep praying for him, keep cheering for him behind the scenes and going out here to win games and change the narrative.”</p><p>“You support him, through and through,” Adebayo continued. “That’s our brother at the end of the day. I just feel like we’ve got to be on the same page and know exactly what’s happening, so that’s it.”</p><p>“We’re together in this,” Jovic continued. “Terry is a great person, and we all love him, and we’re with him. We’ll help him as much as we can. But I can’t say it’s easy, I can’t say it’s hard, but we just got to be together and continue doing this, I guess, without him for some time. However, Adebayo learned about patience and other traits throughout that time.</p><p>“I always say this, I hated Spo my rookie year,” Adebayo said with a laugh, via Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald. “I felt like he didn’t give me a chance as early as I felt like I should have, I got the opportunity, but it taught me to obviously be patient, be humble, and really look at what’s ahead of you. But other than that, our communication has really been the biggest growth difference. Before I’d be scared to walk in his office, I was scared to ask him questions because I didn’t know. I would try to ask the assistant coaches to see how he was thinking.”</p><p>“We talk to each other every practice.
