Simmons bio

Ben Simmons currently plays for the Philadelphia 76ers. 

Born on July 20, 1996 in Melbourne, Australia, he is listed at 6' 11" and weighs 240 lbs. 

Simmons went to high school at the famed Monteverde Academy (FL). The top high school recruit in the entire country, Simmons stunned the college basketball community by committing to the LSU Tigers.

After a single season in college, Simmons declared for the NBA Draft. Due to the fact that LSU didn’t perform well during the guard’s sole season with the Tigers, some experts feared what that might mean for him at the next level.

Nonetheless, the Philadelphia 76ers used their No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft to select the Australian talent.

A point-forward of sorts, Simmons often comes under fire for his inability to take and make shots from beyond the arc. He often offsets that by being a wonderful defensive player, as well as incorporating his tremendous vision and ability to attack the basket to help his teammates.
