It just had to get done!</p><p>Boston actually had himself a solid game against the Nuggets on Sunday, going for 18 points off the bench. Those 18 points tied Eric Bledsoe for a team high with so many key Clippers players out, including stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.</p><p>Unfortunately, LA wasn’t able to pull out a shorthanded win. After a big third quarter, the Clippers’ offense struggled in the fourth quarter, getting outscored 24-17 in a 103-100 loss. Boston had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds, but he missed a tough attempt from long range.</p><p>LA dropped to 17-16 with the defeat, though that’s still good for fifth in the Western Conference. With the stars out (at least Marcus Morris and Reggie Jackson <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/clippers-news-la-gets-surprising-good-news-after-paul-george-injury/" rel="noopener">will be back soon</a>), guys like Boston will continue to get an opportunity to shine … as long as he keeps those shoes tied.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

Instrumental in the Clippers’ victory was rookie guard Brandon Boston Jr., who broke out for a career-high 27 points to lead his team to a victory over Boston. Jamal Crawford practically made a second career out of scoring off the bench, as he took home the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award three times. The fact that Boston is already doing things that Crawford did is very impressive.</p><p>Not only did Boston need just 11 minutes to set a new career-high in scoring, but he also <a href="https://www.latimes.com/sports/clippers/story/2021-12-08/rookie-brandon-boston-jr-clippers-celtics-nba">wasn’t afraid</a> of the Celtics’ top perimeter defender, Marcus Smart. The Clippers’ rookie said that he kept going at Smart- and even jawed at him enough to get called for a technical foul,</p><p>The 20-year-old Boston, taken with the 51st pick in the second round of the draft, definitely doesn’t lack for confidence. That’s exciting for the Clippers, who could benefit from another scorer stepping up, especially on nights where Paul George is out.</p><p>It was an all-around excellent- and historic- night for Boston and the Clippers. Not only that, but it was emotional for Boston, who dedicated the performance to his friend and Kentucky teammate Terrence Clarke, who died in a <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/brandon-boston-jr-survives-car-crash-involving-kentucky-teammate-terrence-clarke/">car accident</a> in April before the NBA draft.</p><p>Truly a special night for Brandon Boston Jr. and the Clippers.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
