Moses Moody paced the team with 21 points, while Stephen Curry had 16 points. Meanwhile, Draymond Green put up a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds. However, while watching the game, Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young noticed Buddy Hield’s seamless fit as the sixth-man for the Warriors.</p><p>“Buddy fits perfectly with the warriors!” the Hawks guard <a href="https://x.com/TheTraeYoung/status/1846379042519257497" rel="noopener">posted</a> on X, formerly Twitter.</p><h2><b>The Warriors are cruising</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Trae-Young-trying-to-get-around-Buddy-Hield.jpg"><figcaption>© Dale Zanine-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>While it’s still preseason, the Warriors seem to be in a good place. They <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/mavericks-news-dallas-completes-klay-thompson-acquisition-in-historic-6-team-trade">lost Klay Thompson to the Dallas Mavericks</a> and <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba-rumors-warriors-trade-plans-after-lauri-markkanen-failure-emerges">whiffed on Lauri Markkanen</a>, but Stephen Curry did sign a one-year extension.</p><p>They also filled the gaps by leaning even harder on their jump-shooting.</p><p>This renewed focus on shooting and playmaking <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/warriors-complete-buddy-hield-sign-and-trade-with-76ers">netted the Warriors Buddy Hield</a> and Kyle Anderson. Moreover, they also signed De’Anthony Melton to spell Curry and provide some defense on the backcourt.</p><p>Moreover, in terms of shooting, Hield is a capable replacement for Thompson, and he may even be a better shooter at this stage of their careers. Thompson hasn’t defended at a high level since his Achilles and ACL injuries, and the Warriors didn’t sign Hield for his defense to begin with.</p><p>Hield is also a reliable decoy while Stephen Curry navigates through screens to look for an open spot behind the line. The defense will have to pick between Hield and Curry shooting, and most teams will let Hield shoot rather than the greatest three-point shooter of all time.</p><p>As a sixth man, Hield can also take on a heavier shooting load when Curry sits. However, without Curry, any competent NBA-level defense will load up on him, meaning his teammates like <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/warriors-news-steve-kerr-issues-andrew-wiggins-demand-klay-thompson-gone">Andrew Wiggins must also shoot more</a> to distribute the workload evenly.</p><p>This reliance on shooting will also require the Warriors to speed their game up, and they hope Melton, Anderson, and Draymond Green should provide enough defense to get them consistent stops to spark fast-breaks.</p><p>Likewise, they’ll have to rely on their center rotation of Trayce Jackson-Davis and Kevon Looney to gobble up defensive rebounds and start the offense.</p><h2><b>Possible problems</b></h2><p>The only problem with this approach might surface in the playoffs, or even before then. For instance, the Warriors might have to win shootouts with other teams, since they might <a href="https://sports.yahoo.com/golden-state-warriors-2024-25-season-preview-is-steph-currys-supporting-cast-good-enough-142816317.html" rel="noopener">not have enough two-way guys</a> to wreak havoc on defense.</p><p>As constructed, the Warriors remain a dangerous team who can shoot the lights out and run other teams off the floor.</p><p>However, when the game slows down in the postseason and the shooting drops off, the lack of a difference-making player like a Markkanen or a Paul George might rear its ugly head.</p><p>Trae Young might be right about Buddy Hield’s fit with the Warriors, but is it enough to put them over contenders like the Minnesota Timberwolves, Denver Nuggets, or Oklahoma City Thunder?</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

The stars of both teams (Stephen Curry, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis) were all active for the night, which should provide some major entertainment for fans regardless of rooting interest. But for the players themselves, defending players of that caliber is rarely fun — which was evident in the way <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/warriors-news-steve-kerr-reveals-klay-thompson-plan-for-buddy-hield">Buddy Hield reacted to a bonkers shot from James</a>.</p><p>With the shot clock winding down with a little over a minute to go in the first half, James looked to bail out a Lakers offense that was going nowhere by drawing a foul on Buddy Hield, who was closing out hard on his jumpshot. The Warriors guard, however, avoided any contact with James whatsoever. This forced James to double-clutch his shot, making the attempt very difficult. But James makes even the impossible look easy, as he banked home the triple.</p><p>At this point, no one should be surprised at what James is capable of on a basketball court. That simply means that the Lakers star operates on a different level. His longevity is unparalleled.</p><p>In the end, it was Hield and the Warriors that got the last laugh in preseason action, taking a 111-97 win. This was the case even though Curry did not have the best of nights from the field (6-18 for 16 points). Meanwhile, James only played 23 minutes on the night as he and the Lakers ramp up for regular season action.</p><p>The Warriors have one more preseason game to go before the regular-season begins, and they will be ending their exhibition season with another game against the Lakers.</p><h2><b>Buddy Hield lets it fly for the Warriors in preseason</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Warriors-Buddy-Hield-reacts-during-a-preseason-game.jpg"></figure><p>When the Warriors lost Klay Thompson, it didn’t take long for them to bring in someone who could help replace the three-point void that was left behind. Buddy Hield is the rare player who can say that his three-point production rivals that of Thompson’s and even Stephen Curry’s, and during preseason, he has shown how explosive of a marksman he can be.</p><p>Entering Tuesday night, Hield has shot 13-22 from beyond the arc in four preseason games. His movement off the ball makes him a perfect fit for the Warriors’ system, and the attention he commands from the perimeter will surely cause headaches for the opposition.</p><p>Now, during the Warriors’ preseason win over the Lakers, Hield’s shot was off; he made just two of his 10 attempts from beyond the arc. He was the Most Outstanding Player of the 2018 Final Four, but he also played a huge role in the 2016 title despite not playing as much.</p><p>DiVincenzo’s <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5833703/2024/10/14/donte-divincenzo-knicks-timberwolves-nba-villanova/?source=emp_shared_article" rel="noopener">role as the scout team player</a> in charge of simulating Oklahoma’s Buddy Hield before the Wildcats and Sooners faced off in the Final Four has become legendary in Villanova hoops lore, according to James L. Edwards III of The Athletic.</p><p>“‘He was impersonating Buddy so well that we couldn’t guard this dude,’ Villanova assistant coach Ashley Howard said on the phone last month,” Edwards wrote on Monday. “Bucket after bucket rained down on the heads of DiVincenzo’s teammates, a handful of who would go on to play in the NBA, including Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges and Josh Hart. Not only was Villanova not included in the rankings, but they didn’t even receive a single top 25 vote.</p><p>The Wildcats still have some talent, with longtime veteran forward Eric Dixon manning the middle and Miami transfer Wooga Poplar on the wing. Curry leads with 2,154, while Hield has 1,924. The newest Warrior is ahead of all-stars like James Harden and Damian Lillard. Although Thompson was one of the emotional leaders, the basketball side of things will be more of the same for Kerr.<br><br>“So I don’t anticipate a difficult transition basketball-wise,” Kerr said. “It’s more just the emotional void of Klay being gone after being so close with him and going through so much with him. The addition of Hield, in particular, has generated plenty of positive fanfare <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/warriors-news-buddy-hield-gets-100-real-about-stephen-curry-tandem-nickname">among the Warriors faithful</a>, as Hield’s marksmanship from deep can actually rival that of Thompson’s.</p><p>But a picture of Hield that’s currently making the rounds on social media may very well change the Warriors’ plans for the 31-year-old marksman, knowing Steve Kerr’s coaching tendencies. Fans have been calling on the team to sign a more traditional center, size-wise, such as Andre Drummond to cover for this deficiency. Alas, they have mostly stood pat in this regard, which wasn’t exactly the worst decision in the world amid the emergence of Trayce Jackson-Davis.</p><p>Of course, there is no way that Kerr will be lining Hield up at the four or the five, especially when the team has better small-ball options such as Jonathan Kuminga, Andrew Wiggins, and Kyle Anderson. But life goes on, even after breakups. The Dubs rebounded quickly, securing one of the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/warriors-news-buddy-hield-speaks-first-time-after-joining-warriors">all-time great shooters</a> in Buddy Hield to approximate Thompson’s floor-spacing impact as one half of the legendary Splash Brothers duo with Stephen Curry.</p><p>While nothing will ever replace the Splash Brothers in the hearts of Warriors fans, Hield should be a fan favorite from the get-go given how audacious he tends to get with his three-point shot selection — and he has the accuracy from beyond the arc to match that level of confidence. In fact, fans have already dubbed the Hield and Curry backcourt as the newly-formed Splash Buddies — a wonderful moniker.</p><p>Nonetheless, while Buddy Hield appreciates the love from the fans, he is focusing on getting to work and earning that tandem nickname — especially when he has <a href="https://x.com/957thegame/status/1814066766760583251" rel="noopener">large shoes to fill</a> in the aftermath of Klay Thompson’s departure.</p><p>“I don’t see nothing wrong with it but we just gotta take it day by day. After a disappointing 2023-24 season in which they missed the playoffs, fans are starting to come to terms with the realization that their team may not recapture the heights they reached during the peak of their dynastic run.</p><p>Buddy Hield, however, has a chance to etch his name in Warriors lore by doing his part in staving off this fall from grace. And perhaps by then, he’ll feel as though he has earned the Splash Buddies nickname alongside Stephen Curry.</p><h2>Warriors fans are going to love Buddy Hield</h2><p>When Stephen Curry began to capture everyone’s hearts by storm in his breakout 2012-13 season, he was an offensive marvel whose range stretched to game-breaking distances. His confidence seeped through every action of his on the hardwood, and he backed it up with as much skill as anyone has displayed in NBA history.</p><p>Buddy Hield may not have the same impact; he is not very good as a finisher, a dribbler, and he is somehow a worse defender than Curry is. But what Hield guarantees is a barrage of three-pointers and some jaw-dropping heat check moments. He made two or more triples in 60 of the 84 games he suited up in last season, and despite coming off the bench in half of those games, he still finished with 219 triples on the season — an elite number especially for someone whose role was in flux.</p><p>Hield has made 200 or more triples for every season since the 2018-19 campaign, peaking with 288 during the 2022-23 season when he was still a full-time starter for the Indiana Pacers.</p><p>As far as catch-and-shoot, movement shooters go, it’s difficult for the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/warriors-complete-buddy-hield-sign-and-trade-with-76ers">Warriors to get someone better-suited</a> to replace Klay Thompson than Hield. He will, indeed, make it rain for the Warriors, and those low-post split actions involving screening actions between Stephen Curry and Hield will be very difficult to contain. Hield should get a new lease in life as well, with his popularity set to soar while playing in front of one of the most passionate fanbases in the NBA today.</p><h2>Will Hield start for the Dubs?</h2><p>The question, however, is just what role will Buddy Hield play for the Warriors after signing a two-year, $21 million deal with the team. Hield did not come alone in the Dubs’ free agency shopping spree. The Warriors also brought in De’Anthony Melton, another former Philadelphia 76ers guard, and Melton is more defensively-inclined, making it a possibility that the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/warriors-news-deanthony-melton-reacts-to-11-year-old-stephen-curry-tweet-going-viral">Dubs start Melton instead</a>.</p><p>The Warriors also have a few guards who all deserve minutes in Brandin Podziemski, a man the front office and coaching staff are very high on — in fact, it was Podziemski who started in place of Klay Thompson when the Dubs were searching for answers last season. Moses Moody and Gary Payton II will also make their cases to receive minutes on the wing, which could cut into Hield’s minutes.</p><p>But Hield, at the very least, provides a different dimension to the lineup as another three-point specialist who would give the Warriors offense some elite spacing — a perfect fit for when they go small like Steve Kerr usually does. The shooting guard training camp battle will be interesting to monitor, and there may very well be <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/sources-warriors-lauri-markkanen-trade-offer-unchanged-amid-jazz-demands">trades left for the Warriors</a> to do anyway that could drastically alter the outlook of the team.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

The departure of Thompson marks the end to one of the greatest dynasties in sports history. With Thompson — along with head coach Steve Kerr, two-time MVP Stephen Curry, and jack-of-all-trades Draymond Green — the Warriors made six NBA Finals appearances in an eight-year span, winning four titles and coming damn close to winning another two.</p><p>Among the handful of others who have been in Golden State for the duration of this dynastic run is Chris DeMarco. DeMarco has been with the Warriors in some capacity since 2012, serving as a Video Coordinator, scout, Director of Player Personnel and Assistant Coach under both Mark Jackson and Steve Kerr. DeMarco has made many contributions to the Warriors organization over the last decade-plus, and that includes serving as a recruiter of the newest addition to the Golden State Warriors roster, sharpshooting veteran Buddy Hield.</p><p>Buddy Hield will sign a four-year deal with the Warriors after being acquired via sign-and-trade from the Philadelphia 76ers. But for the better part of a week, the Warriors have had Hield on their radar, with DeMarco serving as the primary point of contact.</p><p>“Hield is currently in Valencia, Spain, starring for the Bahamian national team, which is two wins away from a shocking Olympics bid and is coached by Warriors assistant Chris DeMarco, a helpful ally in the recruitment of Hield,” writes Shams Charania and Mark Puleo of <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5617128/2024/07/04/buddy-hield-trade-sign-warriors-76ers/" rel="noopener">The Athletic</a>. “It had been trending this direction for a couple days, but Hield didn’t make a final decision until after a late Wednesday night call with Steve Kerr and then a night to sleep on it.”</p><p>While weighing his options, which included the Detroit Pistons and Los Angeles Lakers, Buddy Hield has played a key role in putting the Bahamian men’s national team on the brink of making their first ever Olympic appearance. In Group Play wins over Finland and Poland, Hield has averaged 20.5 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists per game for a Bahamas team that also includes DeAndre Ayton and Eric Gordon. The Bahamas have a Semi-final game versus Lebanon on Saturday, and with a win, they’d play either Spain or Finland in Sunday’s Final. From 2018-19 to 2022-23, Hield finished in the top five of made three-pointers each season. His 1,924 three-pointers made are 22nd-most in NBA history, and he’s one of just 48 qualified players with a career three-point shooting percentage of 40 percent or better.</p><p>Aside from 40 percent three-point shooting, durability has been Buddy Hield’s best quality as an NBA player. New teammates Hield and Stephen Curry are leaders for most 3-pointers made over the last 5 NBA seasons – and now will be teammates.”</p><p>The Warriors are sending a 2031 Dallas second-round pick to the 76ers to complete sign-and-trade for Hield, also per Charania.</p><p>Hield will receive $18 million in the first two years and a $3 million partial guarantee for 2026-27 as well as a player option for non-guaranteed fourth year.</p><p>Hield averaged 12.1 points across 84 games for the Indiana Pacers and 76ers last season, after Philadelphia acquired him in a deadline week trade.</p><p>One of the league’s elite 3-point shooters, Hield made 38.9 percent of his 3-point attempts for Philadelphia during the regular season.</p><p>An eight-year NBA veteran, Hield has averaged 15.5 points per game on 40 percent shooting from beyond the 3-point line over his career with the New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings, Pacers, and 76ers.</p><h2><b>Warriors hope Buddy Hield fills in for Klay Thompson</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Klay-Thompson-2.jpg"><figcaption>© Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports</figcaption></figure><p>The Warriors have been led by Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson for the past 13 years. That duo split up this offseason in free agency when Thompson joined the Dallas Mavericks. That left the Warriors with a need for more 3-point shooting, but very few players in the NBA are capable of making 3-pointers at the volume that Thompson did.</p><p>Fortunately for the Warriors, Hield is one of the players that is.</p><p>In the history of the NBA, there have been 22 seasons in which a player made at least 270 3-pointers. Nine of them belong to Curry. Two belong to Thompson. And four belong to Hield, more than anyone else in that group besides Curry. Buddy has made exactly 40 percent of his 3-pointers in the NBA on 7.6 attempts per game. Thompson also has averaged 7.6 attempts per game in his career but is slightly more efficient at 41.3 percent from distance.</p><p>While it’s impossible to replace what Klay means in the hearts of Warriors fans, the team has come pretty close to replacing his production on the court. Hield isn’t as good a defender as Thompson, but he can let it fly with the same confidence.</p><p>The Warriors have spent this offseason working toward lowering their tax bill by waiving Chris Paul and letting Thompson walk. So far, they have also added De’Anthony Melton through the non-taxpayer mid-level exception and Kyle Anderson through a sign-and-trade. Golden State is also reportedly pursuing Utah Jazz star Lauri Markkanen.</p><p>Given the state and age of the roster, Markkanen or another start player is probably necessary for the Warriors to legitimately chase a fifth championship since 2015.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

After officially splitting with franchise great Klay Thompson, the Golden State Warriors could be on the verge of <a href="https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1808351511354716657" rel="noopener">acquiring his de facto replacement</a>.</p><p>They “are in serious talks” to land veteran guard Buddy Hield in a sign-and-trade with the Philadelphia 76ers, according to Shams Charania of Stadium and The Athletic. With one of the NBA’s most prolific 3-point shooters now heading to the Dallas Mavericks, the Dubs seem determined to add another.</p><p>Replicating the individual contributions or emotional resonance of Thompson is something the organization knows it cannot do, but acquiring a sharpshooter like Hield can possibly fill the void left by the most recent version of No. 11. Or, he can at least fill a big part of it.</p><p>The former Oklahoma Sooners star shot 38.6 percent from distance last season during his time with the Sixers and Indiana Pacers while also scoring 12.1 points per contest. Hield’s reliability would also be key for a Warriors squad that gets bit by the injury and suspension bugs on occasion. He has played in at least 70 games every season of his eight-year career and reached 80 six times.</p><p>The 3-point shot is an integral component of Golden State’s attack, so pairing the greatest shooter the game has ever known in Steph Curry with another respected perimeter threat is naturally a top priority on this team’s offseason to-do list. Hield finished 15th with 219 made 3-point field goals in 2023-24 (Thompson ranked fourth with 268).</p><p>Considering the moves the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/warriors-news-continue-roster-rebuild-timberwolves-sign-trade">Warriors’ front office has recently completed</a>, the addition of Buddy Hield could actually give them a more balanced roster entering next season.</p><h2><b>Warriors looking to stay relevant in the West</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Buddy-Hield-moves-the-ball-up-the-court.jpg"><figcaption>Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports</figcaption></figure><p>Although Golden State is currently undergoing <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/warriors-news-draymond-green-drops-klay-thompson-unhappiness-admission-after-dubs-exit">a major adjustment period</a> following the departure of four-time NBA champion Klay Thompson, it is not wasting time sulking. The team prepared for his exit and is now responding accordingly.</p><p>In the last day and a half, the Warriors have said goodbye to one of the most impactful players to ever wear the uniform, waived future Hall of Famer Chris Paul and landed valuable supporting cast members De’Anthony Melton and Kyle Anderson. It is already an eventful offseason that could be made even more intriguing by a Hield acquisition.</p><p>As long as Curry and Draymond Green remain on the squad, the goal must be to contend for a Western Conference crown, a task that feels more grueling than it has been in quite a while. Jonathan Kuminga achieved significant growth last season and rookies Brandin Podziemski and Trayce Jackson-Davis look like potential draft-day steals. The Philadelphia 76ers hoped his shooting — a skill that Morey said “put the fear of God” into opposing teams — would open up things for their stars and make him a valuable contributor in the playoffs. That didn’t end up being the case. Now, Philly has to consider whether to make Hield a priority to re-sign.</p><p>In his 32 regular-season games with the Sixers, Hield averaged 12.2 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game on 42.6/38.9/92.3 shooting splits. He tallied a career-best 10 assists in his fourth game with Philly but became less and less productive as the season went on, coming off the bench for all but one of his final 23 games (regular season and playoffs) of 2023-24.</p><p>Getting a shooter like Hield to put around Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey made sense even with his shortcomings as a defender and creator. But the move didn’t work out as Morey hoped. Although Hield’s impact compared to <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/76ers-news-daryl-morey-touts-buddy-hield-addition-explains-rationale-behind-trade-deadline-moves">other players moved at the deadline</a> ranks decently well, it was mostly because this past deadline saw only a few players make high-level impacts.</p><p>“At no fault to Buddy, I think the fit was less good than I thought,” Morey said. “Obviously, most of his time was without Joel. But I thought when Joel was back that his impact and his shooting that he’d get more open shots. He didn’t — and that’s on me that it didn’t work out as well as we hoped.”</p><p>While Hield immediately meshed with the team because of his easy-going, upbeat personality — which proved to be extra important when he gave Tyrese Maxey <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/76ers-news-buddy-hield-message-in-tyrese-maxey-pep-talk-that-fueled-game-5-win">a pep talk</a> that helped spark his epic clutch sequence in Game 5 — his on-court value cratered after a hot start to his Philly stint, which he opened up with four straight 20-point games. It was a feat that he hadn’t done in almost three years.</p><p>Hield did, at least, make the most of his last chance with the Sixers. In Game 6, after playing just three minutes in Game 3 and zero in the next two, Nick Nurse put him back in the rotation. He went off for 20 points, scoring most of them in a second-quarter run that allowed Philly to shake off an awful start. The question now is whether Philly should bring him back.</p><h2><b>Should 76ers re-sign Buddy Hield this offseason?</b></h2><p>Hield said after the season that he <a href="https://www.si.com/nba/76ers/news/would-buddy-hield-return-philadelphia-76ers-free-agency" rel="noopener">would like to come back</a> to the 76ers. After playing in the playoffs for the first time in his eight-year career, he’s surely eager to remain in contention. But after ending the season outside of the rotation, will Philly believe again that he can make a difference in the playoffs?</p><p>“There was no one more disappointed than him that he fell out of the rotation because I think Nick correctly saw, based on how they were guarding us, that it was hard for him to impact the game,” Morey said. “And then when they changed up how they’re guarding us, he did show what he can do.”</p><p>Hield found it much harder to get his shot off when defenders were following him more tightly around off-ball screens and were quicker to recover back out to him after doubling. His spot-up and relocation shooting skills become less valuable when the windows shrink, especially because he’s not extremely fast or forceful with the ball in his hands. Unable to make up the difference elsewhere, Hield proved to be ineffective and was benched.</p><p>Nurse turned to him in the hopes of getting someone with fresh legs after five grueling games, including an overtime win in Game 5. Shooting 6-9 from behind the arc almost helped the Sixers stretch the series out to seven games but shooting 1-7 from the field across Games 1 through 3 while also having more fouls (three) than assists and rebounds <i>combined</i> (one of each) put Philly in a hole to begin with.</p><p>The success Hield found previously with the Sacramento Kings and Indiana Pacers came as a result of playing with star point guards De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton. They each pushed the pace well and were great passers for Hield. Maxey’s pace-pushing prowess was not complemented by the type of top-tier playmaking that allowed Hield to remain an effective player. Even if Maxey does grow in that area and Embiid doesn’t go down for months at a time, Hield’s playability in the playoffs doesn’t seem great.</p><p>Buddy Hield’s durability — he played in 85 of a possible 86 games during the regular season, which was stretched by a run to the In-Season Tournament Final and a trade  — and ability to shoot still make him a viable rotation player outside of the playoffs. What he said to Maxey sparked a legendary sequence that kept the Sixers <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/76ers-vs-knicks-game-5-breakdown-tyrese-maxeys-miracle-saves-season">in the series</a>, setting the stage for them to potentially force a do-or-die Game 7 despite losing three of the first four games.</p><p>“Move on. The positivity from the bench, as his pep talk with Maxey showed, can influence what happens in between the lines.</p><p>“We’re all listening together no matter who’s on the court, who’s not,” Hield said. “The goal is to try to get a win and move to the next round and we’re just trying to get that support that everybody needs. And he does the same thing when I’m on the court. We do it for everybody. Just give him confidence and that same support that we all do ’cause it’s tough on him, man.</p><p>“Especially being a 23-year-old, being on this stage and playing in The Garden and making plays. Maxey’s game is its own beast — and so is his work ethic, as Hield noted, becoming only the latest person to tout Maxey as an immensely hard worker.</p><p>“I think that he has very rare speed. He can shoot the lights out. He’s very confident. He works his butt off,” Hield said. Becoming Joel Embiid’s co-star has tested him immensely. Winning the Most Improved Player award signifies the recognition he has rightly earned. But it’s also the testimony from teammates like Hield that illustrates the bright present Maxey has and the brighter future down the line.</p><p>Tne 76ers season is still on the line in Game 6. Tyrese Maxey will have to continue being great to get his team back to Madison Square Garden for Game 7.
