Carmelo Anthony currently plays for the Portland Trail Blazers.
Born on May 29, 1984 in Brooklyn, New York, he is listed at 6' 7" and weighs 238 lbs.
Anthony went to high school at Oak Hill Academy (VA). An extremely sought after high school recruit, Melo would eventually commit to play for the Syracuse Orange.
In arguably the greatest freshman-only season in college basketball history, Carmelo Anthony would lead the Orange to their only NCAA Tournament title in the program’s history.
Entering the same draft as LeBron James, Anthony was selected by the Denver Nuggets as the #3 pick in 2003 NBA Draft. Somewhat lost in time is the fact that Melo’s rookie season was so stellar, leading the Nuggets to places the franchise rarely met during that era, many believed he deserved the Rookie of the Year Award over LeBron James.
Melo is also one of the most decorated Olympians in United States history. He was so prolific that many nicknamed him as Olympic Melo, to go alongside Hoodie Melo, his two non-normal-Carmelo personas.
During his NBA career, he also played 8 seasons with the Denver Nuggets, and 7 seasons with the New York Knicks, and 1 season with the Oklahoma City Thunder and 1 season with the Houston Rockets. He joined the Portland Trail Blazers in 2019 where he saw a bit of a career revitalization.
