He joined ClutchPoints in 2023.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">Memphis Grizzlies</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>Recently, the Memphis Grizzlies picked up a second straight win with a road victory over the Dallas Mavericks, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/memphis-grizzlies/grizzlies-news-ja-morant-drops-best-shooter-claim-klay-thompson-altercation">without Ja Morant in the lineup.</a> However, the biggest story coming out of that game was an altercation <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/memphis-grizzlies/grizzlies-news-video-shows-ja-morant-sticking-finger-right-klay-thompsons-face">between Morant and Klay Thompson</a>, with Thompson having some scathing words for the former All-Star after the game.</p><p>One person who is fed up with Morant’s antics is former Grizzlies forward Chandler Parsons, who recently took to FanDuel’s “Run It Back” show to <a href="https://x.com/ClutchPoints/status/1992997938700648507" rel="noopener">express his frustration.</a></p><p>“Why are we always talking about Ja Morant and something outside of basketball? … I just wish Ja would mature at some point and stop doing stupid s**t,” said Parsons, per Run It Back on X, formerly Twitter.</p><p>Morant indeed has become more known for his off-court incidents than his on-court play over the last few years, continuing into this season. Earlier in the 2025-26 campaign, Morant was suspended for a game after publicly calling out the Grizzlies’ coaching staff in a postgame press conference, and the heated confrontation with Thompson certainly didn’t do anything to help return the focus to basketball.</p><p>When he’s been on the court this year, Morant has been a disaster, with his shooting percentages cratering and the falling star having seemingly no interest in facilitating for his teammates.</p><p>This has all led the Grizzlies to have a 6-11 record so far this year, with some already clamoring for the team to start exploring Morant trade ideas. It’s been a swift fall from grace for a team that looked like it might be a future powerhouse in the Western Conference just a couple years ago.</p><p>In any case, the Grizzlies will next take the floor on Monday evening at home against Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets. Now that Harrison is out of the picture, the Mavericks are still deciding which path to take forward, considering the mix of veteran and young talent still on their roster.</p><p>Recently, former NBA journeyman Chandler Parsons took to FanDuel’s “Run It Back” show to shed light on <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=956&amp;v=p3Q9VM45eS0&amp;feature=youtu.be" rel="noopener">what he thinks</a> the next moves should be for Dallas.</p><p>“I think the first thing they should do is hire Dirk Nowitzki. He is the most loved icon in Dallas. He clearly has separated himself from the entire franchise since the hiring of Nico, or since the move of Luka,” said Parsons. “He’s been all on the side of the fans and was frustrated with that move. I think you bring in a guy like that. Not even as a GM. Dirk’s not a GM. Just some sort of role, some sort of opportunity where he can get in front of the crowd. However, former NBA player turned analyst Chandler Parsons dropped a not-so-desirable take about Ball and his team.</p><p>In the latest episode of “Run it Back,” brought to you by FanDuel, Parsons claims that Ball, who is 24 years old, is ultimately a fun player to watch in the league. However, Parsons doesn’t believe that LaMelo Ball <a href="https://x.com/ClutchPoints/status/1981760490734059946" rel="noopener">is a top-five point guard</a> in the NBA and doesn’t see the Hornets having a successful year.</p><p>“And a guy like him won’t ever fully get the flowers he deserves until he wins,” said Parsons about Ball. “And [the Hornets are] nowhere near winning. That’s the problem… He is must watch TV, and no one’s watching. It’s the Charlotte Hornets’ problem… But he’s not a top-five point guard, and they’re gonna be a bottom-five team. He also owns a career 42.1% field goal percentage while shooting 36.5% from beyond the arc.</p><p>Although Chandler Parsons just doesn’t see it in the Hornets right now, Charlotte does have plenty of reasons to be optimistic. As Parsons pointed out, Ball is a thrilling player to watch and has a knack for stuffing the stat sheet. If guys like Brandon Miller and Miles Bridges step up, while rookies Kon Knueppel and Ryan Kalkbrenner flash potential, the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/charlotte-hornets/hornets-news-did-charlotte-strike-gold-1-2-rookie-punch">Hornets could certainly make some noise</a> in the back half of the season.</p><p>After earning a 136-117 win over the Brooklyn Nets in the season opener, LaMelo Ball and the Hornets are set to face off against the Philadelphia 76ers.
