All eyes are on LaMelo Ball to lead a young roster to a successful season, as the front office has acquired several intriguing long-term options over the past several years. However, former NBA player turned analyst Chandler Parsons dropped a not-so-desirable take about Ball and his team.</p><p>In the latest episode of “Run it Back,” brought to you by FanDuel, Parsons claims that Ball, who is 24 years old, is ultimately a fun player to watch in the league. However, Parsons doesn’t believe that LaMelo Ball <a href="https://x.com/ClutchPoints/status/1981760490734059946" rel="noopener">is a top-five point guard</a> in the NBA and doesn’t see the Hornets having a successful year.</p><p>“And a guy like him won’t ever fully get the flowers he deserves until he wins,” said Parsons about Ball. “And [the Hornets are] nowhere near winning. That’s the problem… He is must watch TV, and no one’s watching. It’s the Charlotte Hornets’ problem… But he’s not a top-five point guard, and they’re gonna be a bottom-five team. He’s been a bright spot on the team, though, as he is averaging 21.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game throughout his career. He also owns a career 42.1% field goal percentage while shooting 36.5% from beyond the arc.</p><p>Although Chandler Parsons just doesn’t see it in the Hornets right now, Charlotte does have plenty of reasons to be optimistic. As Parsons pointed out, Ball is a thrilling player to watch and has a knack for stuffing the stat sheet. If guys like Brandon Miller and Miles Bridges step up, while rookies Kon Knueppel and Ryan Kalkbrenner flash potential, the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/charlotte-hornets/hornets-news-did-charlotte-strike-gold-1-2-rookie-punch">Hornets could certainly make some noise</a> in the back half of the season.</p><p>After earning a 136-117 win over the Brooklyn Nets in the season opener, LaMelo Ball and the Hornets are set to face off against the Philadelphia 76ers. It will be the first game for the Knicks <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/new-york-knicks/knicks-news-karl-anthony-towns-brutally-honest-answer-mike-browns-offense-fans-murmuring">under head coach Mike Brown</a>, who was hired to replace Tom Thibodeau this offseason on the heels of New York’s trip to the Eastern Conference Finals.</p><p>Recently, Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns raised eyebrows when asked about his role with the team, saying,” I don’t know, but we’re figuring it out,” per Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News.</p><p>One person who is alarmed by those comments is former NBA forward Chandler Parsons, who recently took to FanDuel’s “Run It Back” show to <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=913&amp;v=3NyDRJGR6h0&amp;feature=youtu.be" rel="noopener">address his thoughts.</a></p><p>“To me it’s one of two things. It’s either he hates the role that his new coach Mike Brown has given him, because he’s been there all summer. He’s had all training camp with him. So for him to say I don’t know, means he’s not stoked with it because he knows what it is,” said Parsons. “It just simply to me means he’s not rolling with whatever the role of the offense that the new coach is putting in because you don’t just say that the day before the season starts and not expect the reaction like this. This is crazy.”</p><p>“Maybe there’s some truth to the (trade) rumors,” quipped co-host DeMarcus Cousins.</p><p>“KAT to Milwaukee,” predicted Parsons.</p><p>Parsons never did reveal what the second option of his “one of two things” caveat was.</p><h2><b>A troubling quote for Knicks fans</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/kat-exclusive-title-TBD-1.jpg"><figcaption>Brad Penner-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>While it’s entirely possible that Towns didn’t mean anything by his quote and is genuinely looking forward to exploring what he can be in Brown’s offensive system this season, it’s never a great sign when your second best player is openly discussing his confusion ahead with just days remaining before a season kicks off.</p><p>Last year, the Knicks utilized Towns in pick and pop situations heavily, but bizarrely went away from that to some extent as the playoffs wore on.</p><p>It remains to be seen what sorts of sets Brown will want to run with Towns’ unique skillset.</p><p>The Knicks and Cavaliers are set to tip off on Wednesday at 7:00 PM ET from Madison Square Garden.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

The Pacers were down for the entire game, but they made sure to make it interesting late in the fourth quarter to steal a game on the road.</p><p>For Tyrese Haliburton, he was quiet through the first three and a half quarters, but when the team needed the go-ahead basket, he delivered and helped them get the win. Chandler Parsons <a href="https://x.com/ClutchPoints/status/1931064615708115274" rel="noopener">spoke about</a> Haliburton’s performance on the Run It Back show.</p><p>“I don’t think anybody in Indiana woke up and was mad at Tyrese Haliburton (for) how he played for 3 and a half quarters,” Parsons said. “They took the ball out of his hands, they gave it to [Andrew] Nembhard. They were finding other ways to be successful offensively, and Nembhard had it going. Nonetheless, he showed when it mattered the most, and now the Pacers are leading the series 1-0.</p><h2><b>Pacers continue to make magic happen in postseason</b></h2><p>The Pacers were down by as much as 15 points in the second half, and in the first half, they committed 19 turnovers. That didn’t stop them from continuing to fight, and it was a big part of why they were able to come back and win. After the game, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/indiana-pacers/pacers-news-tyrese-haliburton-indianas-disbelief-ugly-first-half-game-1">Haliburton spoke about how the team never lost</a> their belief during the game.</p><p>“When I got on the bus, when I put on my shoes,” Haliburton said. “There was never a disbelief as a group honestly. You have a half like that where you’re just throwing the ball to the other team… That was just chaos, ugly… As a group, we never think the game is over. Ever. Honestly speaking, ever. That never creeps in.”</p><p>Throughout the postseason, the Pacers have been down late in games and have come back to win. The one thing is that they never stop fighting, and once a few shots go down for them, that’s all they need. The Thunder took a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference Finals thanks to a 118-103 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves, bringing them just two wins away from their first Finals appearance since 2012. If they get there, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/oklahoma-city-thunder/thunder-news-shai-gilgeous-alexander-ends-nikola-jokic-fourth-mvp-award">the NBA’s reigning MVP, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander</a>, will lead the way.</p><p>The 26-year-old guard finished second in MVP voting to Nikola Jokic last season, but beat him in 2025. His MVP is the third won by a member of the Thunder since the team relocated to Oklahoma City. He joins franchise legends Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook in an exclusive club.</p><p>However, former NBA player Chandler Parsons believes that he has already surpassed them. Parsons, along with “Run It Back” co-hosts Michele Beadle, Lou Williams, and Atlanta Hawks forward Georges Niang talked about where <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/oklahoma-city-thunder/10-greatest-players-in-thunder-history-ranked">Gilgeous-Alexander ranks among the team’s best players</a>.</p><p>Parsons went as far as to say that Gilgeous-Alexander will fully clear Durant and Westbrook <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BWMPtPZT2M&amp;t=902s" rel="noopener">if he wins a title</a>. It would be the first one in Oklahoma City’s history, setting him apart from past legends.</p><p>“It’s hard not to think that this dude is the greatest Thunder of all-time,” said Parsons. “As good as Russ was with the MVP, triple-doubles, and Kevin Durant, and James Harden, like this guy’s a different level when you win a championship. Especially in this city and this market. Like he will mean everything to them and like I said, it’s going to be multiple.”</p><p>Gilgeous-Alexander still has a ways to go before he can add a championship to his list of accolades. However, he is almost as close as Westbrook and Durant ever got to a title with the Thunder. Both were a part of the team that blew a 3-1 lead to the Golden State Warriors in 2016.</p><p>Regardless of how the season finishes for the Thunder, Gilgeous-Alexander’s name will be remembered in Oklahoma City long after he is done playing with the team.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

While the ascension of <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/new-orleans-pelicans/pelicans-news-zion-williamson-cade-cunningham-disrespect-all-nba-mic-drop">Cade Cunningham has been cited</a> as the main reason for the Pistons’ success, the team has also gotten positive contributions from veterans like Tim Hardaway Jr., Malik Beasley, and Tobias Harris, each of whom were brought in this past offseason.</p><p>Still, that isn’t stopping some in the media from taking shots at Harris, who has long been a target of criticism from fans of the Philadephia 76ers. Recently, former NBA player Chandler Parsons used Harris <a href="https://x.com/ClutchPoints/status/1907527198996836675" rel="noopener">as an example</a> when discussing the ongoing debate about previous generations of NBA players seemingly having animosity toward the stars of today’s age.</p><p>“Larry Bird is watching Tobias Harris make $300 million and he’s like, ‘I was so much better than that guy,'” said Parsons, via the Run It Back Podcast.</p><p>Parsons’ point seemed to be that the vitriol players of the 1980s and 1990s spew at the NBA today could potentially stem from jealousy of the gargantuan contracts that are routinely dished out in the league in 2025. Harris is indeed making quite a bit of money for his services with the Pistons this year.</p><h2><b>A solid veteran for the Pistons</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Harris-warms-up.jpg"><figcaption>Jerome Miron-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>While he may not be Larry Bird, Tobias Harris has provided a stabilizing presence for the Pistons on both ends of the floor this year, helping balance out the team’s supporting cast around Cade Cunningham.</p><p>As previously mentioned, the Pistons still have an outside shot at hosting a playoff series this spring, even if the likelier scenario is that they’ll end up as either the five or the six seed.</p><p>Regardless of what happens when they get there, this season has been a gigantic step forward for a franchise that hasn’t played a playoff game since LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers sent them packing in 2016.</p><p>The Pistons are next set to take the floor on Wednesday evening on the road against the Oklahoma City Thunder.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
