He has been productive off the bench with his scoring and playmaking, helping Milwaukee get off to a solid start this year.</p><p>However, he had a mishap take place in the early minutes of the fourth quarter. It marked their first home loss of the season.</p><p>Milwaukee had the momentum throughout the first quarter, having led 47-36. They lost control in the second and third periods as Sacramento outscored them 72-55 in that stretch. This proved to be crucial as the hosts were unable to recover from their woes in the fourth quarter.</p><p>Free throws and technical fouls made the difference in this matchup. The Kings prevailed in both categories as they made 35 out of 40 shots at the line while having no technicals. It wasn’t the same for the Bucks, making just 20 out of 31 attempts while committing four technical fouls.</p><p>Six players scored in double-digits for Milwaukee. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 26 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists, a steal, and a block. He shot 8-of-13 from the field, including 1-of-1 from three, and 9-of-14 from the free-throw line. Kyle Kuzma came next with 22 points, Gary Trent Jr. and AJ Green had 17 points each, while Ryan Rollins and Bobby Portis provided 16 points each.</p><p>The Bucks will look to bounce back in their next matchup, being on the road. He averaged 9.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game while shooting 42.4% from the field and 35.4% from beyond the arc across 67 appearances. His playing time dropped to 18.4 minutes per contest, the lowest of his five-year career.</p><p>“I’m super excited to be (in Milwaukee), man,” Anthony said. “It just feels like a breath of fresh air after being in Orlando for the past five years. Obviously, I loved my time there, but this feels like, for me, a stepping stone in my career.”</p><p>Anthony’s best season came during his sophomore campaign in 2021-22. That year, he averaged 16.3 points, 5.7 assists, and 5.3 rebounds while shooting 39.1% from the floor in 65 games. I looked at the structure of the team (and) the coaching staff and just was like, ‘All right, this aligns with my goals.’ I feel like I could slot in here and help this team win some games.”</p><p>Anthony added that his focus is on being a versatile contributor in whatever role the Bucks need.</p><p>“I just want to come in and help the team win in whichever way I can,” he said. “I think they’re going to ask me to do what I can do, which is score, pass the ball, guard, whatever, but I’m just really happy to be a part of this team specifically because it’s been great being here these past couple weeks and being with these guys. The energy is high. There’s a real professional vibe around everybody, and everybody has a chip on their shoulder.”</p><p>Milwaukee will open training camp next Monday, with the season set to begin Oct. 22 at home against the Washington Wizards. Playing 24.8 minutes in each regular-season contest, his playing time goes down to 12.8 minutes per game in the playoffs.</p><p>Anthony’s role wasn’t going to fit with Memphis considering the logjam at the point guard position. The Grizzlies already have star guard Ja Morant and have found a noteworthy young player on the rise in Scotty Pippen Jr. This would have reduced Anthony’s role, making the contract buyout a reasonable one.</p><p>The Bucks do improve at the guard position. After waiving and stretching the remainder of Damian Lillard’s contract, they had an open spot available. This granted the chance for Anthony to enter the equation and take the spot.</p><p>Milwaukee now has a backcourt featuring Anthony, Kevin Porter Jr. and Gary Trent Jr. The trio will look to assist Giannis Antetokounmpo in making noise in the Eastern Conference.
