Derrick Rose currently plays for the New York Knicks.
Born on October 04, 1988 in Chicago, Illinois, he is listed at 6' 2" and weighs 200 lbs.
Rose went to high school at Simeon Career Academy (IL). A prized high school recruit, he eventually committed to play for John Calipari and the Memphis Tigers. Unfortunately, large chunks of his lone season in the college ranks would later be wiped out by the NCAA for violations.
After an amazing college run, there was no doubt he most teams wanted in the draft. Luckily for both Derrick Rose and his hometown Chicago Bulls, the Windy City franchise had the No. 1 overall pick. They, of course, used it to select Rose in the 2008 NBA Draft.
Rose’s career has been polarizing to say the least. While beloved by his fans, he’s been caught up in numerous scandals, including his ghosting of the Knicks and allegations of rape. When his career is over, Rose will be the definition of a “love him or hate him” player.
During his NBA career, he also played 7 seasons with the Chicago Bulls, 2 seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves 1 season with the Cleveland Cavaliers and 2 seasons with the Detroit Pistons. He rejoined the New York Knicks in 2020.
