All the things circulating, I don’t think this looks like a locker room that quit on their coach. … We love playing for him. Michael of the Indianapolis Star</a>.</blockquote><p>Several reports reveal Bjorkgen’s rather aggressive coaching style which has affected both players and staff. This has negatively influenced their win-loss record, as well as the Pacers’ culture.</p><blockquote>“He’s just very different,” said one league executive who has worked previously with Bjorkgren. “He’s not a d–k; he’s just completely out of his element as a leader.”“He didn’t come in relationship-building in an easy way from day one,” said one Pacers voice, per Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report.</blockquote><p>Despite this, Caris LeVert and Doug McDermott echoed McConnel’s sentiments. Now, he will make his third straight All-Star game later this month. Remember, Simmons is still only 24 years old.</p><p>Seemingly, the sky is the limit for Simmons with the Sixers in the NBA. He was named the Most Improved Player of the Year in 2018 and made two consecutive All-Star game appearances in ’18 and ’19.</p><p>Disaster struck for Indiana when Oladipo figured in a nasty fall in a game against the Toronto Raptors back on January 23, 2019.  He missed the remainder of the season after suffering a ruptured quad tendon on his right knee.</p><figure class="op-interactive"><iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/DHIgaFTdlto?feature=oembed" class="no-margin" width="1000" height="563"></iframe></figure><p>Oladipo made a triumphant return last January and appeared in 13 games for the Pacers prior to the hiatus. However, it was quite evident that the 28-year-old guard was still shaking off some major cobwebs, as he notched 13.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.0 assists, on 39.1 percent shooting from the field and 30.4 percent from the 3-point area.</p><p>The Pacers still managed to remain competitive without him, thanks in large part to the development of Domantas Sabonis, who himself was also <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/pacers-news-domantas-sabonis-is-an-all-star-says-bulls-coach-jim-boylen/">named an All-Star last February</a>.</p><p>Doug McDermott also pitched in quite nicely, contributing 10.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 62 appearances. We feel like we’re one of the better teams in the East and we can play anyone, so we’re going to continue to play hard.”</blockquote><p>McDermott dropped 24 points — 18 of which came in the fourth quarter. They’ve won seven of their last 10 games and now sport a 28-15 record for fifth in the East. The <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/pacers-news-victor-oladipo-thinks-indiana-could-be-really-special-once-he-comes-back/">best part is that they’re doing it without their star guard</a> Victor Oladipo who’s about to make his return after undergoing right knee surgery last year. He’s expected to be back on Jan. 29 when the Pacers face the Chicago Bulls.</p><p>The series of victories shows a very tough and deep team contrary to what critics and other people say. This momentum perhaps came at the right time as Oladipo’s impending return. As such, the Pacers may just hush those critics who claim that the Pacers are just a mid-tier team.</p><p>The Nate McMillan-coached squad is working its way to a fifth straight postseason appearance. The previous four ended up in heartbreaking first-round eliminations.
