We will see how he progresses.”</p><p>“There’s been a lot of things this year that you can’t even explain, different guys going out at not the most ideal times. I know Wiggs just really wants to be out here. And everybody can see it – when he’s out there, he makes us different.”</p><p>Spoelstra described how important it is to not rush Wiggins through the recovery process.</p><p>“But we also have to be responsible right now and make sure it doesn’t turn into something else,” Spoelstra said. “By the time we got to the fourth quarter, it looked like he was gutting it out. With intensive treatment, his body should respond.”</p><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/heat-news-erik-spoelstra-touts-duncan-robinsons-ignitability-amid-lineup-change">Robinson’s injury is not serious</a> either and he will be able to return soon if its is handled properly, Spoelstra believes.</p><p>“It’s different than last year,” Spoelstra said. “We think we will be able to manage it. We want to be responsible and give as much treatment and then appropriate ramp-up. Now, the reason we left them back is they can do more work around the clock,” he said. “Our trainers seem encouraged. That’s unreasonable. To me, that’s something that’s in your character to be a quitter and obviously I’m not a quitter so I’m not going to let my teammates quit.”</p><p>Adebayo understands the importance of not letting the team’s energy get out of control.</p><p>“I bring the same positive optimistic energy every day,” Adebayo said. “It doesn’t matter what we’re going through. If we’re on a 10-game losing streak or if we’ve won seven straight, you got to keep that same energy because, like I preach to my teammates, you never know what can happen on the other side. And I also know he’s a Hall of Fame coach. I’m not questioning any moves he’s making. We are both constantly trying to read and figuring where spots in the defense are. There are moments you can throw it up there to him where they are not many guys in the league like that. He has a really good feel of getting out of screens and knowing when to screen and when to split out. While it was <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/heat-news-jimmy-butler-shares-honest-admission-about-form-in-first-game-back-from-injury">Heat star Jimmy Butler who led the way</a> during that game, it was star Duncan Robinson who made his mark with the starters, showing his versatility as head coach Erik Spoelstra pointed out his biggest strengths.</p><p>Robinson has been crucial to Miami for the last six seasons he’s been with them as the team’s best three-point shooter, but he’s added more to his arsenal since then on both sides of the ball. It was a seamless transition for Robinson going from the second unit to the starting lineup as Spoelstra said to ClutchPoints that he is “comfortable” playing with anybody on the team and cites his <a href="https://x.com/ZachWeinberger/status/1859663154676150761" rel="noopener">“ignitability”</a> as a strength.</p><p>“He’s done both, and he’s done both those roles very well over the seven years,” Spoelstra said. “He’s comfortable playing with Jimmy and Bam. He also is comfortable developing a really good connection with K-Love [Kevin Love] and Jaime [Jaquez Jr.]. You know, off the bench at this point, you need all of it. I love his ignitability. And you know that’s coming to, Tyler’s shown that right now, Duncan has the ability to blow open games. Either way, Robinson does not seem to care about being labeled as a starter or a benchwarmer as long as he is a part of a winning basketball team.</p><p>If his name were to be called to the starting unit, though, it would not be much of a “huge adjustment,” as Robinson said to ClutchPoints.</p><p>“Not really a huge adjustment,” Robinson said. “I mean, I played with a lot of those guys for a lot of minutes, maybe not necessarily as a group, but I’ve shared the court a lot with Tyler [Herro] and Jimmy [Butler] and Bam [Adebayo] and Haywood [Highsmith] a lot over the years. So, you know, just good to get a win, obviously.”</p><p>“Yeah, I play just about every role there is to play,” Robinson continued. “Starting, off the bench, not playing. So obviously, I want to be out there in any capacity, whatever it requires.”</p><h2><b>Heat’s Duncan Robinson on the different lineup changes</b></h2><p>The <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/heat-news-erik-spoelstra-identifies-important-key-behind-developing-miami-chemistry">chemistry of the Heat’s lineups</a> has been a narrative this season, especially with the original starting unit, but Robinson sees it as an overblown issue. However, he would acknowledge that finding the right rotations and those players working well with each other will be important to achieve the goals they are aiming for on offense and especially defense.</p><p>“We’re more caught up in just playing good basketball,” Robinson said. “We all like each other get along, that’s not really an issue. It’s more about just finding the way to be difficult to guard and to get stops. So finding groups that work and kind of mesh and blends is going to take a little bit of time and working through.”</p><p>In the aforementioned win over the 76ers, Robinson finished with 13 points on five for 14 shooting, which included an uncharacteristic two for 10 from beyond the arch. Still, it was a solid month of November for the 30-year-old as he averaged 12.6 points per game while shooting 42.7 percent from the field and 41. 7 percent from deep.</p><p>At any rate, the Heat have not been playing up to their liking as they are currently 6-7 on the season as even Robinson said that they are not up to their standard.</p><p>“Definitely not where we want to be,” Robinson said. “We know we’re capable of better and more. When looking back, it is eye-opening to see how there have been a lack of playing time for stars Duncan Robinson and Kevin Love as Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra explains the reasoning behind it.</p><p>The answer is pretty simple for Robinson as it is very noticeable that he is not at 100 percent health as the star is still dealing with a back injury specifically labeled as “left facet syndrome.” He has been dealing with this issue towards the end of the season where he missed a significant amount of time, but he’s at the point where he can play.</p><p>In terms of his minutes, he played 15 in Game 1, 17 in Game 2, and just seven in Game 3 as <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/heat-news-miamis-game-4-injury-report-vs-celtics-features-return-of-key-player">Spoelstra credited the reasoning</a> as “looking for a spark” since the team was down by as much as 29 points at one point.</p><p>“I was looking for some kind of spark once we were down 20,” Spoelstra said after the Heat lost to the Celtics in Game 3. “Duncan’s not going to make an excuse for it. I’m not going to make an excuse for him. We have our guys. We have enough to get the job done. And we understand that challenge. And that’s what our competitors love about this series. We know we have to play hard and we also have to play well. But at that point in the second half, we were down 20. He said after Sunday’s <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/heat-news-bam-adebayo-reveals-major-flaw-that-doomed-miami-from-the-start-in-game-3-loss-to-celtics">Heat practice that the team</a> and him are <a href="https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/nba/miami-heat/article288073370.html" rel="noopener">“taking it game by game”</a> and admitted “it’s definitely been a challenge” according to Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald.</p><p>“I am available,” Robinson said. “I’m just trying to do whatever I can to help us try to win this next game. Right now, we’re just taking it game by game. So trying to win this next game. It’s definitely been a challenge, for sure. Just trying to wrap my mind around whatever the opportunity looks like, whatever I can do to help us, just doing that.”</p><h2><b>Spoelstra explains the lack of playing time for Love in Heat rotation</b></h2><p>When it comes to Kevin Love, while he has had his fair share of injuries this season like having a heel bruise which kept him out from the end of February until early April, that isn’t the worry in this situation. It has been a common theme in the first round playoff series against the Celtics that Love has had more trouble than ever in seeing playing time.</p><p>He saw 13 minutes in Game 1 and in the next two contests, only saw 10 minutes combined of action on the floor which is surprising since he’s usually the primary backup <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/3-heat-takeaways-from-frustrating-game-3-loss-vs-celtics">center for Heat star</a> Bam Adebayo. Using about the same reasoning for Robinson, Spoelstra was “looking for a spark” and said that it is “not an indictment on anybody.”</p><p>“I was looking for a spark once we got down 20,” Spoelstra said of moving away from Love. “This is not an indictment on anybody. Things move fast in a playoff series. It was tough to get a read on anything when we were playing out of that hole for most of three quarters.”</p><h2><b>Love talks about staying ready for Heat when they need him</b></h2><p>Love is in the midst of playing his 16th season in the NBA so there will never be an ounce of anger towards the decision, though there could be natural frustration since it’s a big playoff series. The veteran has embraced his role <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/heat-news-how-terry-rozier-is-impacting-miami-vs-celtics-despite-injury">with the Heat and said after</a> Sunday’s practice that it’s all about him being able “to just stay ready.”</p><p>“I think it’s on me just to stay ready, whether it’s plug minutes or a longer stint or just understanding that this is a team that you have to switch against a lot,” Love said Sunday. “I think naturally that plays to a lot of guys’ strengths and there’s certain lineups where we do that, whether we go small or plug [Nikola Jovic] in at the five, I just think that they’ve in some ways, whether it be offensive rebounding or finding shots in the corner from three, have been able to take advantage of our zone.”</p><h2><b>Love admits his flaw in matchup against Boston</b></h2><p>The former Minnesota Timberwolves and Cleveland Cavaliers big-man admitted that it could be a matchup flaw for Love against the Celtics. On the laundry list of injuries, one key player that the Heat are very much so missing is Duncan Robinson who elevates the team with his exceptional skill from deep, but is out with a back injury as he provides an update on the issue.</p><p>Robinson has missed the last two games with the aforementioned back injury that was later specified as “left facet syndrome.” He left in the third quarter of the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/heat-news-jimmy-butler-doesnt-back-down-from-bold-pelicans-stance-despite-blowout-loss">Heat’s loss to</a> the Philadelphian 76ers on March 18 due to back discomfort and went back home to see a back specialist as he said Friday evening that he is <a href="https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/nba/miami-heat/article286344935.html" rel="noopener">“improving a lot”</a> and feels much better than he did last Monday according to Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald.</p><p>“Definitely [getting] better, significantly better than Monday,” Robinson said of how he feels with the injury. “It’s improving a lot.”</p><p>Before the 76ers game, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/heat-news-duncan-robinson-gets-troubling-injury-update-after-76ers-loss-couldnt-move">Robinson and Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra revealed</a> that the star had trouble even moving his body, but wanted to play that night to be with his teammates. The 29-year old player recently made history on March 17 against the Detroit Pistons where on top of scoring 30 points, he became the fastest player in NBA history to reach 1000 made three-point shots in 343 games.</p><h2><b>Robinson reveals how he feels with the injury</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Duncan_Robinson_shooting_the_ball_in_his_last_game_appearance_in_the_Heats_loss_to_the_76ers.jpeg"><figcaption>Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports</figcaption></figure><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/heat-news-jimmy-butler-erik-spoelstras-unfiltered-review-of-loss-to-pelicans-should-wake-up-miami">Fortunately for the Heat</a>, Robinson bluntly said that the injury is “not too serious” as he is averaging 13.5 points, three assists, and 2.6 rebounds per game while shooting 45.8 percent from the field and 40.5 percent from three-point range. While Robinson wants to be out there for the team’s last 13 games of the regular season, he said “you want to be smart about it” in terms of not just rushing through the injury.</p><p>“Thankful it’s not too serious,” Robinson said. “Big thing is making sure [to] calm it down. It’s flared up right now. I’m trying to play as soon as I possibly can. Itching to be back out there. As soon as get the clear and OK, I’ll be back out there. Taking a couple days helps a lot. The recovery and treatment has helped as well as other things.</p><p>“You want to be smart about it,” Robinson continued. “I understand down the stretch there is going to be some managing of it from a pain perspective, which I’m ready to embrace, but you don’t want to rush back to where it just flares up to where it starts [process] from day one.”</p><h2><b>Spoelstra had brief update on Robinson</b></h2><p>Before Friday’s game against New Orleans, Spoelstra provided a brief update on Robinson saying that the Heat will be monitoring how his body responds to various treatment being received. Even star Bam Adebayo said after the game that they are missing the likes of Robinson and other injured players who can space the floor like Tyler Herro and Kevin Love.</p><p>“A lot,” Adebayo answered with how much the Heat miss their injured players. “Just because they play heavy minutes for us, you can’t replace a guy like Duncan [Robinson]who shoots it from anywhere, a guy like Tyler [Herro] who can create his own shot, and obviously the leadership of K-Love [Kevin Love].”</p><h2>Next chance to play for Robinson in the Heat’s home stand?</h2><p>Robinson’s next chance to play will be Sunday against the Cleveland Cavaliers inside the Kaseya Center but said that he doesn’t “know when for sure that will be” in terms of his return. If anything, the team is currently in the midst of a four-game home stand, but time is running out on the regular season.</p><p>“I wouldn’t count out anything,” Robinson said via The Miami Herald. “I want to play as soon as I possibly can, I don’t know when for sure that will be.”</p><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/heat-news-erik-spoelstra-has-blunt-admission-on-miamis-middling-home-record">The Heat are 38-32 on</a> the season which puts them seventh in the tightly packed Eastern Conference with 13 games left in the regular season.
