Dwight Howard currently plays for the Philadelphia 76ers.
Born on December 08, 1985 in Atlanta, Georgia, he is listed at 6' 10" and weighs 265 lbs.
Howard went to high school at Soutjwest Atlanta Christian Academy (GA). One of the most hyped high school prospects ever, complete with cover photos on premiere basketball-tiled magazines, Howard bypassed college and declared for the NBA straight out of high school.
Given the absolutely insane hype behind him, and despite some concerned about his maturity at the time, the Orlando Magic used their No. 1 overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft on Dwight Howard.
Hindsight hasn’t been as kind to Howard as it should be. While some fans on social media crush him for his alleged corniess, he led an undermanned Magic team to the NBA Finals, is a numerous time All-Star, and remains productive coming off the bench in the backend of his career.
Like many other former No. 1 overall picks who were great, but only for brief periods of time, NBA fans might not fully appreciate Howard’s prolonged productivity until after he retires.
During his NBA career, he also played 8 seasons with the Orlando Magic, 2 seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, 3 seasons with the Houston Rockets, 1 season with the Atlanta Hawks, 1 season with the Charlotte Hornets and 1 season with the Washington Wizards.
He joined the Philadelphia 76ers in 2020.
