Ja Morant currently plays for the Memphis Grizzlies.
Born on August 10, 1999 in Dalzell, South Carolina, he is listed at 6' 3" and weighs 174 lbs.
Morant went to high school at Crestwood (SC). He was a relative unknown coming out of high school. Stories refer to him as a big time late bloomer, which resulted in a lack of major Division I offers. However, he would wind up at Murray State where he began his rise to stardom.
After an excellent college career, dazzling crowds with explosive plays and carrying the Racers on his back, the Memphis Grizzlies used the No. 2 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft to begin their post-Grit and Grind era in earnest.
Since entering the league, not much has changed. He instantly became a must-watch talent on television, even making the Grizzlies so entertaining that many non-Memphis fans began to add the Grizzlies to their NBA League Pass packages.
As his career begins to get longer in the tooth, so too does his game. Morant entered the league mostly known as a high-flyer, but has consistently developed his jumper almost every week.
During his NBA career, he’s played for the Memphis Grizzlies since 2019.
