It also helps that they added some draft capital in the process.</p><p>Spellman is a 6-foot-8 power forward who likes to play in transition and rebound. He is also versatile enough to play center on some teams. Off the bench, the 23-year-old should be able to provide an offensive spark to the Knicks’ second unit.</p><p>Last season with the Warriors, Spellman <a href="https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/s/spellom01.html" rel="noopener noreferrer">averaged</a> 7.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, all while shooting almost 43.1 percent from the field and 39.1 percent from deep.</p><p>Jacob Evans, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard, should add athleticism and defense to the Knicks’ second unit as well.</p><p>Meanwhile, Minnesota is Davis’ third team in two days, as he was just recently <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba-trade-news-jazz-trade-big-man-ed-davis-to-knicks/" rel="noopener noreferrer">traded</a> to the Knicks from the Utah Jazz. The Minnesota Timberwolves add depth and athleticism to their second unit while shedding salary in the process.</p><p>This is a minor deal for both teams, but both get exactly what they want.</p><p>New York’s frontcourt is looking solid as ever. He only tallied one rebound in seven minutes of action and did not return for the remainder of the contest.</p><p>The Dubs went on to lose their ninth consecutive ball game, 97-124, and have now fallen to a grim 9-33 record. Jordan Poole and Erik Paschall led the Warrior with 17 and 16 markers, respectively, while D’Angelo Russell added 13.</p><p>Golden State’s defense was once again pretty much non-existent, allowing Luka Doncic to have his way with 20 points, eight boards and two dimes. Five more Mavs players finished in double figures scoring, led by Powell’s 21 points.</p><p>Jacob Evans, meanwhile, has found a place in Steve Kerr’s rotation that has been decimated by injuries. He has appeared in 20 games for the Warriors so far, notching <a href="https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/e/evansja02.html" rel="noopener noreferrer">4.7 points on 31.1 percent shooting</a> from the field and 37.0 percent from 3-point territory, to go along with 1.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 15.2 minutes per contest.</p><p>Golden State is in dire need of some healthy bodies this year, as superstar Stephen Curry is expected to be out at least until after the All-Star break when his wrist is expected to be evaluated.
