It amounts to $1.2 million out of his probable $1.9 million contract. This may be a sign that he gets a bigger role in New York’s rotation.</p><p>Over the last season, Sims only saw the court 52 times but started 16 times. His minutes may have limited his production. He only got an average of 15.6 minutes per game. However, Jericho still produced serviceable numbers despite this.</p><p>He averaged 3.4 points per game on an impressive 77.6% field goal percentage. His rebounding numbers also show a lot of potential. Sims crashed the boards effectively which rewarded him with 4.7 rebounds per game. There is a lot of untapped potential within this young player.</p><p>Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle are surely going to need a lot of help to make another deep playoff push. He certainly lacked creativity with his dunks, simply showing off his athleticism by putting his whole right arm in the rim and his elbow clipped. He tried to have some gimmick for his second dunk, putting an envelope on the net to raise expectations. It was so good that even RJ Barrett couldn’t believe it.</p><p>Late in the fourth quarter of the showdown, Sims found a clear path to the basket for the slam. He received the lob at that moment and didn’t waste his chance, making most of the opportunity by throwing down a massive two-handed dunk.</p><p>Aside from the brute force he showed for the slam, the elevation was simply incredible. There is just no other words to describe it rather than being a dunk that is truly out of this world.</p><p>Even better, it was the perfect icing on what was an amazing double-double night for Jericho Sims. The 23-year-old put up 16 points and 10 rebounds on top of two blocks to help the Knicks beta the Warriors 101-88.</p><p>Sims struggled for playing time with the Knicks in 2021-22. While he <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/sports/nba/players/jericho-sims/9ab50884/" rel="noopener">did get some starts</a> late in the season, he didn’t actually play in a lot of meaningful games. However, f he continues to improve and show New York his full potential, it’s not hard to see him earning more minutes under head coach Tom Thibodeau.</p><p>Who knows, by 2022-23, it might be Barrett sending the ball on Sims’ way for the slam.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
