Brunson has played in 22 of 24 games, starting all of them. Meanwhile, Hart has only started in nine of the 23 games he has played in.</p><p>Luckily, they have both seen a decrease in the number of minutes they’re playing per game. Brunson averaged 35.4 minutes per game during the 2024-25 season. Through 24 games, Brunson is averaging 34.9 minutes per game.</p><p>Hart has seen a more drastic decrease. He is a high-intensity player, grabbing a lot of rebounds for a guard. So far, Hart is averaging 29.7 minutes per game, a large decrease from his 37.6 minutes per game last year.</p><p>The Knicks made it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals during the 2024-25 season. However, they were beaten by the Indiana Pacers in six games.</p><p>They had beaten the Detroit Pistons and Boston Celtics to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. If they had won, they would have faced the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Finals. The Pacers gave them a good fight, but they lost the series in seven games.</p><p>The Knicks will next play the Orlando Magic on Saturday, Dec. 13. Their game will be broadcast on Prime Video. The ball movement was crisp, the defense suffocating, and every shot felt inevitable. In the opening stretch, the Knicks swarmed Boston defensively, contested everything, and executed with sharpness and energy.</p><p>For a moment, it looked like the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/nba-stories/2025-26-nba-power-rankings-week-6-knicks-emerging-east-favorite">Knicks had officially entered the conversation</a> of serious Eastern Conference threats.</p><p>Then came the collapse.</p><p>For nearly a quarter and a half, New York looked disconnected, slow on rotations, careless with possessions, and unable to generate the same force they opened with.</p><p>Boston capitalized, led by Jaylen Brown’s season-high 42 points and late-game dominance from Derrick White and Jordan Walsh.</p><p>Still, the Knicks fought back. <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/boston-celtics/celtics-news-joe-mazzulla-like-mikal-bridges-chirping-boston-bench">Mikal Bridges erupted for 17 of his 35 points</a> in the fourth quarter, splashing eight threes and cutting what was once an 18-point deficit down to three. <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/brooklyn-nets/nets-news-jordi-fernandez-blunt-reaction-karl-anthony-towns-domination">Karl-Anthony Towns added 29 points</a> in a strong offensive outing.</p><p>But the rally came too late, and the inconsistency was too glaring.</p><p>This loss may not be the most damaging of the Knicks’ season, but it may be the most revealing. The Knicks’ depth has been shown in full force so far this year, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/new-york-knicks/knicks-news-josh-hart-jalen-brunson-flowers-lamelo-ball-pass-head">with forward Josh Hart</a> scoring 22 points in the win over the Hornets on Wednesday.</p><p>Unfortunately, things weren’t going so well for Hart earlier this year, <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/11/27/sports/knicks-star-josh-hart-robbed-of-185k-worth-of-watches-at-nyc-hotel-sources/" rel="noopener">when he was robbed</a> of $185,000 worth of watches back in September, per a new report from the New York Post.</p><p>“Hart, 30, dropped off his duffle bag inside The Dominick Hotel on Spring Street near Varick Street around 12:30 p.m. Sept. 5 – and when he returned about an hour later, his watch case was missing from inside, cops and sources said,” reported Amanda Woods of the New York Post.</p><p>No arrests have been made and no suspect description is available at this time. Hart reported the theft three days after it occurred, per Woods.</p><p>Hart will certainly be hoping to track down those responsible and retrieve the expensive pieces.</p><p>In any case, the Knicks have been playing relatively well so far this year, finding some ways to win on the road of late after starting out winless in that department to open up the year.</p><p>Hart has seen a reduced role over the last two years due to the emergence of players like Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby, but he’s still an important piece on a Knicks team that is expected by many to represent the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals this year. If they want to do so, Hart will have to continue to be aggressive, as he was on Wednesday night, to make defenses pay when they don’t guard him as closely as others.</p><p>The Knicks will next take the floor on Friday evening at home vs the Milwaukee Bucks.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
