BIOGRAPHY
Born on June 29, 1991 in Los Angeles, California, Kawhi Leonard currently plays for his hometown LA Clippers.
Nicknamed The Klaw, among other things, he is listed at 6' 7" and weighs 225 lbs. A true two-way player, Leonard is known to use his size and strength to his advantage, imposing his will on potential defenders. More often than not, those defenders are on the wrong side of the equation.
Leonard went to high school at Martin Luther King (CA). Not exactly a highly sought after recruit, though obviously later proving doubters wrong, Leonard committed to San Diego State where his star began to rise.
Despite a stellar collegiate career, the naysayers remained. In the 2011 NBA Draft, Kawhi Leonard slid to the Indiana Pacers at the #15 pick. He would never wear an Indiana uniform though, almost immediately shipped off to the San Antonio Spurs.
Kawhi Leonard has won numerous awards and received plenty of praise, but the title he brought to the Toronto Raptors is arguably his crowning achievement.
Before joining a revamped LA Clippers in 2019, during his NBA career The Klaw also played 7 seasons with the San Antonio Spurs and 1 season with the Toronto Raptors. He joined the Los Angeles Clippers in 2019.
