While rest is generally good for NBA teams, this lengthy layoff seemed to sap <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/los-angeles-lakers/lakers-news-luka-doncic-guarantee-la-defense-11-4-start">any sort of rhythm from the Lakers</a>. But they hit their stride when it mattered the most and held off a late charge from the Jazz to claim a 108-106 win to move to 12-4 on the season.</p><p>Luka Doncic had himself another incredible outing, finishing with 33 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists in the winning effort. And as is the case with the Slovenian superstar, there is never a dull moment with him. In the second quarter, Doncic exhilarated even the away crowd with his display of some classic Luka Magic.</p><p>With 4:43 left in the first half, Doncic intercepted a poor pass from Kevin Love. Now, he has become an integral piece of the young squad.</p><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/nba-stories/nba-rumors-whats-going-on-kevin-love-buyout-talks-jazz">Love was traded to the Jazz by the Miami Heat</a> in a three-team deal that also involved the Los Angeles Clippers. It was a sad development for the veteran forward, as he loved his stint with the Heat. But he has since moved on, providing the Jazz with a much-needed steadying presence.</p><p>Before their game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, Utah coach Will Hardy <a href="https://twitter.com/mcten/status/1990966027216433244" rel="noopener">expressed his appreciation</a> for the 37-year-old Love.</p><p>“When I spoke with Kevin before camp, it was trying to make sure he knew the value that I saw in him and that I saw a real role for him with our group,” said Hardy in a video posted by ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.</p><p>“We are excited to have him. We need him. We need veteran leadership in our locker room. In the twilight years of his NBA career, <a href="https://cavsnation.com/news/cavs-news-kevin-love-hall-of-fame-intentions">Love has been open about a potential return</a> to the Cavs.</p><p>Love won’t say when he <a href="https://esportsinsider.com/2025/11/kevin-love-utah-jazz-miami-heat-career-interview" rel="noopener">plans to end his career</a>, calling it a “year-by-year” process. However, he would love to end his career with the Cavs, he said, per Esports Insider’s D.J. Siddiqi.</p><p>“I don’t want to make any assumptions — they’ve been so good to me here already with Utah, and if this is it, then I’m very happy with that,” Love said. “Obviously, Cleveland is a near and dear place to me. But regardless if that happened or not, I’m always going to go back to Cleveland. They were so good to me for my eight-and-a-half seasons there, and continue to be.”</p><p>Love helped the Cavs secure their first and only NBA title, and his nine seasons in Cleveland are the longest tenure of his career.</p><p>“But how long I’ll play, I’m not exactly sure. I think I’m going to continue to love the game. Kevin is also ranked sixth all-time in rebounding (4,493) and is the ninth all-time leading scorer with 7,663 points.</p><p>Love <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2025/11/16/kevin-love-hall-of-fame-cavalier/" rel="noopener">revealed </a><a href="https://www.tmz.com/2025/11/16/kevin-love-hall-of-fame-cavalier/" rel="noopener">his </a>post-NBA career plans in a recent interview with TMZ.</p><p>“It would mean a lot,” Love said. “There’s just so many names up there that it would truly be an honor to go up there. Boozer is even getting compared to NBA star Kevin Love.</p><p>“On some level, I think it’s worth buying into his overall dominance, especially given the way he’s cleaned up his handle and jumper over the last year. And yet, scouts wonder about his upside as he’s not all that fluid through his hips and doesn’t have a ton of shake,” Sam Vecenie wrote for the outlet. “His footwork is sublime on the block, and his strength makes him a mismatch nightmare. But he’s not massive, and that could lead to issues as he moves up levels. But it didn’t really cause issues for a multi-time All-NBA guy like Kevin Love, and I think Boozer is even further ahead of where Love was at this age.”</p><p>Boozer and Duke start their 2025-26 season on Tuesday. The Blue Devils take on the Texas Longhorns from the SEC. This past season, he appeared in a career-best 76 games for the Rockets, at a little over 31 minutes per game while being selected as an All-Star for the first time in his career.</p><p>He averaged a career-high 19.1 points, 10.3 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.1 steals with splits of 49.6 percent shooting from the field, 23.3 percent shooting from the three-point line and 69.2 percent shooting from the free-throw line.</p><p>During the Rockets’ opening round playoff elimination against the Golden State Warriors, Sengun averaged 20.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.9 steals while shooting 45 percent from the field, 37.5 percent shooting from the three-point line and 62.5 percent shooting from the free-throw line.</p><p>With veteran point guard <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/houston-rockets/rockets-news-ime-udoka-reveals-non-traditional-plan-fred-vanvleet-injury">Fred VanVleet likely out for the season due to an ACL injury</a>, Sengun is going to be counted on to step up even more as the Rockets look to stay afloat in a tough Western Conference.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

It is a bit poetic as well; James is most known for wearing the number 23 jersey, so for him to retire in his 23rd season would be a fitting end to quite the rollercoaster of a career.</p><p>James added further fuel to the fire of retirement rumors when he posted a video on X teasing a major announcement with the caption: “The decision of all decisions. October 7th. 12pm EST. 🫡👑 #TheSecondDecision”. Many Lakers fans speculated that this might be the day where James announces that the 2025-26 season would be his last in the NBA.</p><p>Nevertheless, with the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/los-angeles-lakers/lakers-news-alternate-theories-lebron-james-retirement-decision-2-0-video">anticipation building for James’ announcement</a>, many are formulating theories as to what the Lakers star’s “second decision” will be about. Love only recently celebrated his birthday on Sunday, September 7. And it seems as if the two continue to remain close even years after being teammates for the Cavs.</p><p>“THE BEST EVER!!!!!” James wrote on his Instagram story <a href="https://www.instagram.com/stories/kingjames/3717080979132407565/?hl=en" rel="noopener">in response to a post</a> from the official NBA Instagram account. During this time, the Cavs would go on to form the most entertaining NBA rivalry of the 2010s against the Golden State Warriors, eventually winning a title in 2016.</p><p>That has proved to be his only championship thus far. Kevin Love averaged 15.7 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists during his nine seasons with the Cavs, emerging as one of the best shooters in the league during this stretch. He converted 37.6% of his three-point attempts during this time.</p><p>The player would outlast both Irving and James at the franchise, eventually leaving in February 2023 after agreeing to a buyout with the franchise. Since then, he has continued to produce solid NBA seasons, joining the Miami Heat before eventually signing with the Utah Jazz earlier this year, in July.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

Even though he was <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/nba-stories/nba-news-clippers-jazz-heat-pull-off-3-team-trade-norman-powell-john-collins" rel="noopener">traded to the Utah Jazz from the Miami Heat</a>, he may look towards a buyout agreement. </p><p>On Tuesday, Marc Stein of the Stein Line reported that Love is <a href="https://marcstein.substack.com/p/sunday-best-the-latest-hottest-and-f4d" rel="noopener">“actively exploring”</a> buyout options outside of Utah. While it would be a challenge to trade Love, the potential of a buyout is likely. </p><p>There are also reports that Love <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/nba-stories/siegels-scoop-jonathan-kuminga-standoff-warriors-final-stages" rel="noopener">may look to join</a> one of the Los Angeles teams to end his career, per Brett Seigel of ClutchPoints. If he did that, he would rejoin his former Cavaliers teammate LeBron James. </p><p>However, there are challenges ahead that could make his path towards the West Coast difficult. Even though the Lakers have one spot left, they are limited by the salary cap.</p><p>Both the Lakers and Clippers are hard-capped at the first apron, meaning that they are limited to signing a veteran player without slashing salary. The Lakers are limited at $1.1 million, and the Clippers are capped at $1.2 million. </p><p>Ultimately, the Lakers and Clippers would have to trade or waive other players to create space for Love to join. </p><p>Love, 37, has played 17 seasons in the NBA. In 2008, he entered the league with the Memphis Grizzlies before being traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. He played for them until 2014 before joining the Cavaliers from 2014 to 2023 and winning an NBA championship in 2016. </p><p>Afterward, he joined the Miami Heat.</p><h2><b>What if Kevin Love went to LA?</b></h2><p>If a buyout from the Jazz follows through, Love could have an impact for either of the LA teams. With the Lakers, Love could add a sense of veteran leadership to a team comprised of James and Luka Doncic. </p><p>He could also provide consistent scoring and rebounding. The same holds for the Clippers, particularly in the addition of veteran leadership with Chris Paul. </p><p>In a twist of irony, Love would join John Collins, who was traded to the Clippers from the Jazz in the three-way trade. </p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

He has never blurted out an opinion he didn’t like. He never shies away from speaking his mind, even if it’s about a sensitive issue or criticizing an opposing player.</p><p>On Thursday, he chimed in on a recent remark of Utah Jazz forward Kevin Love, who said on an Instagram Story: “So many lames are loudest in the room. And the least accomplished.”</p><p>While it’s unclear who the 36-year-old Love was pertaining to, it’s clear that the 35-year-old Green agreed with him.</p><p>“It’s a crazy thing,” wrote the Warriors veteran on his Instagram Story, while reposting Love’s quote.</p><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Draymond-Greens-Instagram-Story.png"><figcaption>Instagram/money23green</figcaption></figure><p>Green has been criticized throughout his career because of his in-your-face attitude. Even though he’s an accomplished player on the court, helping the Warriors to four championships and being one of the top defenders in history, he’s also notorious for his shenanigans.</p><p>The video of him punching former teammate Jordan Poole will never be forgotten. He has also been in numerous beefs with fellow players, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/golden-state-warriors/warriors-news-draymond-green-opens-up-on-rudy-gobert-chokehold-held-him-much-longer">most notably with Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert</a>.</p><p>Green, a former Defensive Player of the Year, has acknowledged his faults and vowed to work on them, including undergoing therapy sessions. Warriors coach Steve Kerr has acknowledged Green as the heartbeat of the team over the years.</p><p>Love, meanwhile, is in his final chapter with the Jazz, although there have been rumors that he will be bought out or waived.
