On Thursday, Atlanta traded center Dewayne Dedmon to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Tony Snell and Khyri Thomas, according to <a href="https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1329518171389382662">ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski</a>.</p><figure class="op-interactive"><blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p dir="ltr" lang="en">Detroit is trading Khyri Thomas and Tony Snell to Atlanta for Dewayne Dedmon, sources tell ESPN.</p><p>— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) <a href="https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1329518171389382662?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw" target="_blank">November 19, 2020</a></p></blockquote><p></p></figure><p>Dedmon is set to make $26 million over the next two years of his contract, which could hinder the Hawks in being able to successfully complete trades with the center’s stifling contract absorbing cap space. Atlanta remains big spenders ahead of free agency as well, which could serve well in letting go of Dedmon for more compatible pieces such as Snell and Thomas.</p><p>Dedmon, 31, finished last season averaging 5.8 points along with 5.7 rebounds last season with both the Sacramento Kings and Hawks.</p><p>They’ll instead take back Snell, who has only one year remaining on his deal. If the Hawks don’t decide to trade Snell, he can still be a decent contributor off the bench. The 3-point sniper finished last season shooting 40 percent from deep while averaging eight points a game. They’ll also obtain a young guard in Thomas, who hasn’t seen much playing time during his two seasons in the league. He could serve as a ball handler on the deep end on the bench, while the possibility of him being salary filler in another deal could also be possible.</p><p>Barring any major trades, the Hawks will enter free agency with more money to spend than most clubs in the league. In what’s been deemed a <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/hawks-rumors-joe-harris-receive-significant-offer-from-atlanta-in-free-agency/">weak free agency market</a>, they’ll likely pursuit most of their targets through trades.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
