Kristaps Porzingis had a 34-point, 19-rebound game in the round of 16, and they got eliminated. So those stats look good,” Windhorst said. “He averaged 20 points a game and six rebounds in this series, or in the tournament. However, the scouts were not blown away by the way he looked. They felt he looked not the sort of impact player they were used to seeing.</p><p>“And he admitted that while he feels better than he did in the spring, he’s still got a ways to go. That he’s not back to the full health that he was at,” Windhorst concluded.</p><p>Perhaps getting the rust off is part of Porzingis’ progression toward returning to form. He’s looking forward to his tenure with the Hawks, as Porzingis believes <a href="https://basketballsphere.com/en/kristaps-porzingis-its-a-great-situation-for-me-to-come-in-and-contribute/" rel="noopener">it’s an ideal situation for him</a> to compete at a high level, he said, per Basketball Sphere’s Dejan Gajic.</p><p>“I think expectations are high. Atlanta’s been on the edge of the playoffs the last few years, sometimes getting through the first round,” Porzingis said. “It’s a great situation for me to come in and contribute. He's also an award-winning author and Ken Jeong's best friend.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">Celebrity</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>Nearly 2,500 people have donated to <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/celebrity/rampage-jackson-clears-misinformation-raja-punching-syko-stu-live-stream">professional wrestler Syko Stu</a>‘s GoFundMe after the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/celebrity/rampage-jackson-raja-brutal-syko-stu-attack-reportedly-under-investigation">brutal attack by Raja Jackson</a>, the son of Rampage Jackson, including <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/atlanta-hawks/hawks-news-kristaps-porzingis-teases-mma-career-after-nba">Atlanta Hawks star Kristaps Porzingis</a>.</p><p>Some of the top donators include fellow professional wrestler, AEW star Chris Jericho, who donated $2,500. Porzingis donated $500. Assuming this is actually the Hawks forward, it is an <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-support-sykostus-recovery-journey" rel="noopener">extremely generous gesture from the NBA player</a>.</p><p>So far, Stu’s GoFundMe has raised $76,453. That is about 70% of the overall goal of $110,000. According to the GoFundMe listing, the money will go towards “uncovered medical expenses,” “recovery support,” and “loss of income.”</p><p>Porzingis is heading into his first season with the Hawks. He previously played for the New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks, Washington Wizards, and Boston Celtics.</p><p>His NBA career began with the Knicks, who drafted him with the fourth overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. During his time with the Knicks, Porzingis was a one-time NBA All-Star (in 2018). He was named All-Rookie First Team in 2016 as well.</p><p>However, he was traded to the Mavericks in 2019. His time with the Mavericks included his first-ever playoff appearance. He would later be traded to the Wizards during the 2022 season.</p><p>Porzingis remained in Dallas until 2023. He was traded to the Celtics, and he helped them win a record-setting 18th NBA Championship. He would miss some of the 2024-25 season due to his recovery from an injury.</p><h2><b>Raja Jackson’s attack of Syko Stu</b></h2><p>A scary situation occurred during a recent wrestling event on Saturday, August 23, 2025. Jackson jumped into the ring, throwing Stu to the ground. He then repeatedly punched Stu, who was unconscious, before other wrestlers intervened.</p><p>Luckily, Stu was stable following the attack. His brother said he was in “critical care,” though. LAPD is investigating the incident following the attack. However, no arrests have been made.</p><p>Stu and Jackson had a confrontation before the show. Stu had hit Jackson in the head “unexpectedly,” according to Raja’s father, Rampage Jackson. However, he didn’t dismiss the possibility of continuing his basketball career across the pond.</p><p>After Latvia’s 104-86 loss to Milwaukee Bucks All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Greece, <a href="https://basketnews.com/news-229725-kristaps-porzingis-drops-hint-about-potential-return-to-europe-after-clash-vs-giannis.html" rel="noopener">a reporter asked</a> Porzingis if he’d consider coming back to Europe, per Basket News.</p><p>“Sure, sure, why not?” Porzingis said. “I mean, I haven’t really given it too much thought, but just seeing some of the clubs here in Greece, you know, the atmosphere here for the games and stuff would be a really, really unbelievable atmosphere to play in.”</p><p>When a reporter followed up on the possibility of Porzingis playing for a Greek club team, he didn’t rule it out.</p><p>“Possibly, possibly, but I would have to look at everything,” Porzingis added. “And who knows, who knows. I love the fans here and I love the rivalry they have here, so who knows.”</p><p>Porzingis finished with seven points and four rebounds in the exhibition. Everything is still in progress – when we get closer to the final result, I will be able to tell you more.”</p><p>Porzingis also revealed he played other sports throughout his offseason.</p><p>“This summer I played a little tennis and padel tennis — very good sports in the summer, especially in the fresh air,” Porzingis added. “I have also tried my hand at MMA, but I promised one of the clubs I represented that I would not do it during my career. On Wednesday, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/milwaukee-bucks/bucks-news-giannis-obliterates-kristaps-porzingis-latvia-eurobasket-tune-up">Antetokounmpo’s Greece faced off against Kristaps Porzingis’ Latvia</a> and came out on top, taking a 104-86 win in Athens.</p><p>The Bucks star did not need much time to inflict his damage against the Latvians. He only needed 15 minutes of play to put up 25 points and 10 rebounds — an incredible showing, even for someone like Antetokounmpo who’s made such games look routine. He made nine of his 12 shots and was a force to be reckoned with on both ends of the floor, leaving Latvia little chance at a win.</p><p>After the game, Porzingis, who’s now with the Atlanta Hawks, <a href="https://basketnews.com/news-229725-kristaps-porzingis-drops-hint-about-potential-return-to-europe-after-clash-vs-giannis.html" rel="noopener">spoke highly</a> of Antetokounmpo and how the Bucks star dominated proceedings even in an exhibition setting.</p><p>“It was tough. It was a tough game for us. Giannis had an unbelievable first half. We could have done a better job with him, to be fair, but today was just a tough day today for us, and we look forward to bouncing back tomorrow,” Porzingis said, per BasketNews.com.</p><p>For Porzingis, he rued how his team dealt with the Bucks star in the first half, forcing Latvia to fight an uphill battle all night long.</p><p>“The first half was, was a tough matchup. He’s definitely one of the top players in the world, and he made it tough for us. He looked good, he looked fresh, and he made it tough for us. I think second half we did a better job with him, but I guess he was on limited minutes. Without Jayson Tatum on the court, the Celtics’ roster was far too expensive to keep together. The team’s first two moves in the offseason saw them save hundreds of millions of dollars. Boston sent Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers and <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/atlanta-hawks/hawks-news-atlanta-acquiring-kristaps-porzingis-3-team-trade-celtics-nets">Kristaps Porzingis to the Atlanta Hawks for Georges Niang</a>.</p><p>Those two moves sent key pieces of their championship roster out the door, but saved the new owners a lot of money. According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Celtics made <a href="https://x.com/ShamsCharania/status/1952824674309542023" rel="noopener">another move to save money</a>. Boston sent Niang and two second-round to the Utah Jazz for rookie RJ Luis Jr. in a deal that sends Niang’s $8.2 million contract to one of the Western Conference’s bottom feeders.</p><p>The deal nets the Celtics a young player while also relieving some pressure on their salary cap. After Porzingis’ contract was off the books, experts wondered what other moves Boston would make to help themselves out. There was some speculation that <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/boston-celtics/celtics-news-how-close-boston-jaylen-brown-derrick-white-trades">the Celtics could consider trading Jaylen Brown</a>. However, he and Tatum are in for the long haul at TD Garden.</p><p>Niang joins a young Jazz team with its sights set on developing its young talent. The forward will get some playing time, but his expiring deal makes him a prime trade candidate at next year’s deadline. Utah likely made the trade for the future draft capital more so than the player it got from Boston.</p><p>The Celtics are expected to struggle without the core of their 2024 championship squad. Of its main contributors, only Brown, Tatum, and Derrick White remain. With <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/boston-celtics/celtics-rumors-al-horford-exit-all-but-confirmed">Al Horford considering options other than Boston</a>, the Celtics are making moves for their futures as if he won’t be a part of it.</p><p>Moving on from Niang’s contract does not bring Boston closer to a title. He joined ClutchPoints in 2023.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">Atlanta Hawks</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>No team in the Eastern Conference took a <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/atlanta-hawks/hawks-news-exec-makes-best-offseason-declaration-blockbuster-moves">bigger swing this offseason than the Atlanta Hawks</a>, who signed multiple notable free agents and pulled off a heist of a trade with the New Orleans Pelicans on draft night. The move that started it all was Atlanta’s <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/atlanta-hawks/hawks-news-kristaps-porzingis-thought-getting-traded-spurs-nice-surprise">trade for Kristaps Porzingis</a>, bringing in the Latvian big man at a relatively low price during the Boston Celtics’ recent fire sale.</p><p>For his part, Porzingis seems to be excited to join the Hawks, recently describing <a href="https://basketballsphere.com/en/kristaps-porzingis-its-a-great-situation-for-me-to-come-in-and-contribute/" rel="noopener">what he anticipates</a> for an Atlanta team that he has viewed from afar throughout his career.</p><p>“I think expectations are high. Atlanta’s been on the edge of the playoffs the last few years, sometimes getting through the first round,” said Porzingis, per Sports Studija, via Dejan Gajic of Basketball Sphere. “It’s a great situation for me to come in and contribute. Maybe even better than Boston, where it was championship or bust.”</p><p>Celtics fans might not take too kindly to that last statement, although it should be noted that Porzingis is saying that the Hawks’ situation is better for him rather than that the Hawks are a better team overall.</p><p>Still, the latter is certainly a possibility in 2025-26, considering how much talent the Celtics parted with this summer in addition to the fact that they will be without Jayson Tatum next year.</p><h2><b>An intriguing Hawks team</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Young_397660.jpg"><figcaption>Dan Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports</figcaption></figure><p>Just a few months ago, the Trae Young era seemed to be reaching an unceremonious conclusion with the Hawks’ second straight exit in the play-in round. The team still hasn’t won a playoff series since their 2021 Eastern Conference Finals run.</p><p>However, the Hawks’ front office has shown a pulse this offseason, bringing in Porzingis and signing Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Luke Kennard in free agency, as well as drafting Asa Newell last month.</p><p>All of these moves, combined with the current injury-riddled Eastern Conference landscape and projected growth from some of Atlanta’s younger players like Dyson Daniels and Zaccharie Risacher, could make the Hawks threats to embark on a deep playoff run this year.</p><p>Atlanta will find out its schedule for the 2025-26 season in August.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

After a disappointing end to the postseason for the Celtics, which saw them get eliminated in the second round and Jayson Tatum suffering an Achilles injury, there was a good chance the same team wouldn’t be back next season.</p><p>Pozingis had a feeling that he was going to get traded, but he had <a href="https://basketnews.com/news-228548-porzingis-breaks-silence-on-trade-celtics-rumors-health-condition.html" rel="noopener">one team in mind</a> before the Hawks swooped in.</p><p>“After the season, I spoke to my agent and kind of expected that one or more of us would be traded. For a while, I thought I might end up with the Spurs, but then Atlanta came in—and that was a nice surprise. It was out of my hands,” Porzingis said via Basketnews.</p><p>A frontcourt of Porzingis and Victor Wembanyama would have been dangerous, but luckily for the Hawks, they came in at the right time and got a key player. Porzingis will be a perfect fit for the Hawks, and he will help them to space the floor as he’s one of the better shooting bigs in the league. On defense, he can provide some solid rim protection at 7’2.</p><h2><b>Kristaps Porzingis feeling healthy going into Eurobasket tournament</b></h2><p>During the latter part of last season, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/atlanta-hawks/hawks-news-kristaps-porzingis-sounds-lingering-health-mystery-celtics-trade">Porzingis was dealing with some health issues</a> that didn’t allow him to play at his full potential when he was on the court. He’s now set to participate in the FIBA Eurobasket tournament, and he’s feeling better than he did months ago.</p><p>“I feel fantastic, to be honest,” Porzingis said via Basketnews. “I took time to rest after the season. Something was lingering during the playoffs—I had fatigue, dizziness, even moments where I felt like I might faint. It wasn’t great.</p><p>“In June, I fully rested and lowered the intensity. All of that has gone away. I haven’t felt any of the playoff symptoms anymore. I feel great and ready to join the national team. Super happy.”</p><p>Health has been the biggest thing for Porzingis the past two seasons, as he hasn’t been able to play more than 60 games. When he is healthy, he can make a big impact on the floor, similar to what he did the season that the Celtics won the championship. With the Celtics trying to shed salary, there was a good chance that Porzingis would’ve been on the move, and now he’s with a team that perfectly fits his game.</p><p>The last time people saw Porzingis on the floor was when the Celtics faced the New York Knicks, and he could barely get up and down the court without getting tired easily. Since breaking into the mainstream with mixtapes like Beast Mode and chart-topping albums like DS2 and Hndrxx, he has become a staple in global hip-hop.</p><p>Known for his gritty trap sound, melodic hooks, and pioneering use of Auto-Tune, Future has shaped an entire generation of artists and continues to dominate charts and streaming platforms worldwide.</p><p>Porzingis’ musical preference adds a layer of personality to the towering forward, who was acquired by the Hawks as part of a three-team trade that sent shockwaves through the NBA. But, in reality, a lot of Celtics fans <i>do not</i> love Niang, and he knows it.</p><p>The NBA journeyman arrived in Beantown this offseason <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/boston-celtics/kristaps-porzingis-massive-trade-means-celtics-offseason">following a significant trade that sent former Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis to the Atlanta Hawks</a>. He joined ClutchPoints in 2023.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">Atlanta Hawks</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>The <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/atlanta-hawks/nba-rumors-hawks-couldnt-believe-pelicans-draft-trade-offer">Atlanta Hawks have made</a> a slew of high-profile acquisitions this offseason, including <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/atlanta-hawks/hawks-news-nickeil-alexander-walkers-high-hopes-defensive-partnership-dyson-daniels">signing Nickeil Alexander-Walker</a> and Luke Kennard as well as trading for Kristaps Porzingis at the Boston Celtics’ recent firesale. The Hawks are looking to take advantage of an East landscape that figures to be wide open considering the current injuries to star players in the conference.</p><p>Recently, Porzingis spoke with Lauren Williams of the AJC about how things<a href="https://www.ajc.com/sports/2025/07/exclusive-kristaps-porzingis-helping-hawks-be-a-force-offensively/" rel="noopener"> fizzled out for him</a> in Boston.</p><p>“Our season (with the Celtics) didn’t end last year the way we wanted to,” Porzingis said. “But this is how it goes, you know. And obviously, we expected that there were going to be changes in my whole team. And having a little bit longer summer than usual is, it’s awesome always as a player, because it’s just, the NBA season is tough, and also (I) jumped in the middle of the season, and it’s obviously tough.”</p><p>Porzingis also spoke on how excited he is for this new opportunity back in the Southeast Division with Atlanta.</p><p>“Just having this time off and being able to recharge a bit and get ready for a big summer, and then going into next year, it’s, honestly, it’s the perfect scenario, the perfect scenario. And I’m super, super excited about what’s coming,” said Porzingis.</p><h2><b>A big addition for the Hawks</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Kristaps-Porzingis.jpg"><figcaption>Bob DeChiara-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>In Porzingis, Hawks star point guard Trae Young now has the first true pick and pop threat of his career at the center position. Of course, health is always a concern with the Latvian big man, who was essentially benched by the Celtics during their recent playoff run as he was severely hampered by a mysterious illness.</p><p>However, when healthy, Porzingis is one of the most talented big men in the NBA offensively and also provides reliable rim protection at the other end of the floor.</p><p>The fact that the Hawks were able to get Porzingis for a relatively low price and on an expiring contract makes the move a low-risk, high-reward decision for a franchise that suddenly looks to have removed itself from the depths of NBA purgatory.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
