LaMelo Ball currently plays for the Charlotte Hornets.
He was born on August 22, 2001 in Anaheim, CA. He is listed at 6-foot-6 and weighs 180 lbs.
Ball went to high school at SPIRE Academy (OH) and then passed on college to play overseas.
He was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets as the No. 3 overall pick in 2020. During his NBA career he has played for the Charlotte Hornets since 2020.
Ball has had the spotlight on him since his high school days and was the most recognizable name to be in the 2020 draft class. While some wondered how much of it was hype compared to substance, Ball has proven in his short time with the Hornets that he can be a dynamic player.
Before getting injured in 2020, Ball was on his way to likely securing the NBA Rookie of the Year Award. In his first year in Charlotte, he showed the playmaking and vision that had scouts giddy about him throughout the last few years in the leadup to him becoming an NBA player.
In a 2021 list on ESPN of their “Top 25 under 25” players in the league, Ball ranked third, behind only Luka Doncic and Zion Williamson.
