Marc Gasol’s Net Worth in 2021 (estimate): $50 Million

Marc Gasol's net worth in 2021 is estimated to be at $50 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

The Barcelona, Spain born Marc Gasol started out his basketball career at Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis.

He was nicknamed “Big Burrito” during his high school career. He was named Division 2’s Mr. Basketball in his senior year in 2003 wherein he averaged 26 points, 13 rebounds, and six blocks per game.

Lausanne retired Marc Gasol’s #33 jersey in 2008.

He went back home to Spain to play for FC Barcelona in the Liga ACB where he won the Liga ACB championship in 2004. After three seasons, he signed for Girona in 2006.

Marc Gasol was drafted with the 48th overall pick by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2007 NBA Draft. But, he stayed for one more year with Girona before finally playing in the NBA.

His last season with Girona proved to be a great one for Marc as he was named to the 2008 All-ACB team and he won the 2008 ACB MVP award.

On February 1, 2008, Marc Gasol’s draft rights were traded to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for his brother, Pau Gasol.

He signed his rookie contract with the Grizzlies worth $9.8 million for three years.

Marc Gasol had a decent rookie year as he averaged 11.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.1 blocks. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team.

Gasol continued to play great for Memphis, which is why he signed a four-year, $58 million contract extension with the Grizzlies during the 2011-2012 NBA season.

In the same season, he was named to his very first All-Star nod as a reserve on the Western Conference squad for the 2012 NBA All-Star Game.

The 2012-2013 season was big for Marc Gasol. He became the first player in Grizzlies history, the first Spanish player and the first European to win the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award.

He was also named to the All-NBA Second Team and, weirdly, the All-Defensive Second Team that season.

In the 2014-2015 season, Gasol earned his second NBA All-Star nod and he was named to the All-NBA First Team for the first time in his career. He averaged 17.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.6 blocks for the season.

Before the start of the 2015-2016 season, Gasol signed a maximum contract extension worth $113 million for five years.

The following season, Gasol was named to his third All-Star game selection. He averaged a career-high 19.5 points that season along with a steady 6.3 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game.

However, on February 7, 2019, the Memphis Grizzlies traded Marc Gasol to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Jonas Valanciunas and other pieces.

Gasol’s savviness and veteran leadership helped the Raptors reached the 2019 NBA Finals where they faced defending champions Golden State Warriors.

He scored 20 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in his NBA Finals debut. And after six games, the Toronto Raptors brought home the first NBA championship in franchise history.

Meanwhile, Marc Gasol joins Pau Gasol as the first set of brothers to win NBA titles.

For the 2019-2020 season, Marc Gasol exercised his $25.6 million player option to stay with the Raptors.

In the 2020 offseason, he signed a two-year, 5.2 million deal with the defending champions Los Angeles Lakers.

Spotrac estimates Marc Gasol’s career earning to be at $181,665,456.

In 2019, Forbes included Marc Gasol to their list of The World’s Highest-Paid Athletes at #98.

Along with his NBA career, Marc Gasol also has a successful record with the Spain national team.

He was part of the Spanish team that won the Gold in the 2006 and 2019 FIBA World Cup.

Gasol was also a part of the Spain team that finished silver in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics.

NBA Champion brothers Pau and Marc Gasol founded the Gasol Foundation in 2013 to help reduce childhood obesity by promoting healthy lifestyles in both Spain and the USA.

Currently, Marc Gasol’s situation with the Lakers is still uncertain. Despite committing to playing out his final year with the Lakers, the recent signings made by the team suggest otherwise.

Whatever happens, Marc Gasol has made quite a living during his whole basketball career. He even has a good chance of making it into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame one day.

For now, we will see how Marc makes a final curtain call in the NBA and call it quits to his basketball career.
