He suffered a torn ligament in his left wrist sometime after the All-Star break and underwent successful surgery back in July, which has kept him sidelined as he recovers.</p><p>Middleton has <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/bucks-news-you-just-never-know-khris-middleton-gets-brutally-honest-on-40-million-player-option-with-milwaukee/">been the team’s second star</a> behind Giannis Antetokoumpo and he played a key role in the team’s 2021 NBA championship. Last season he put up 20.1 points per game, 5.4 rebounds and 5.4 assists while shooting 44.3 percent from the field and 37.3 percent from three-point range.</p><p>With Pat Connaughton, he too has not been able to make his season debut as he suffered a calf strain during preseason play. Connaughton has also been an instrumental player for the Bucks off the bench. Last season was arguably the best season of his career. He put up 9.9 points and 4.2 rebounds while shooting 45.8 percent from the field and 39.8 percent from 3-point range.</p><p>Meanwhile, Joe Ingles has yet to even suit up for the Bucks. He signed a free-agent contract with them in the offseason, but he is still recovering from an ACL injury he suffered back in January when he was still with the Utah Jazz. Pat Connaughton’s latest injury update is not good news for the title contenders.</p><p>The Bucks <a href="https://www.nba.com/bucks/news/medical-update-on-pat-connaughton-2">announced</a> that Connaughton will be sidelined for three weeks due to a right calf strain. The veteran wing sat out the Bucks’ final two preseason games and will now be out for the beginning of the season.</p><p>“Milwaukee Bucks guard Pat Connaughton missed the last two games with right calf soreness. On Friday, Connaughton underwent an MRI that revealed a right calf strain. Connaughton is expected to be sidelined for approximately three weeks,” according to the team’s website.</p><p>Connaughton averaged a career-high 9.9 points per game, as well as 4.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 0.9 steals, while shooting 45.8 percent from the field and 39.5 percent from deep last season. The 29-year-old signed a contract extension with the Bucks earlier in the offseason.</p><p>The Bucks still have Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday but now have a key spot in the rotation to fill. The 29-year-old showed off his best moves to the campers as he taught them a thing or two about the game he loves.</p><p>It seems that Connaughton got a bit carried away, though. He went <a href="https://twitter.com/pconnaughton/status/1552134305467580418">full savage</a> on the kids in attendance by destroying them on both the offensive and defensive end. Pat Connaughton was probably going at 50% capacity, but he still wrecked those young kids and their basketball dreams. Kidding aside, though, this was quite an experience for these lucky boys and girls. After all, it’s not everyday that you get to go 1-on-1 against an NBA player.</p><p>At the end of the clip, however, Connaughton was hilariously sent to the floor by a young girl with a slick crossover. It looks like the Bucks wing intentionally fell to the ground, but it was still an epic moment nonetheless.</p><p>Connaughton is now entering the final year of his current contract with the Bucks after deciding to <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/bucks-news-milwaukee-pat-connaughton-move-will-please-giannis-antetokounmpo-fans/">pick up</a> his Player Option for 2022-23. This is going to be a very important season for the former Notre Dame standout as he heads into free agency next summer.</p><p>Connaughton is coming off his best year as a pro last season, averaging <a href="https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/c/connapa01.html#all_per_game-playoffs_per_game">9.9 points</a>, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists, while also connecting on 2.2 triples per game at a 39.5-percent clip.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

Had he not signed an extension, though, he would become a free agent at the conclusion of the 2022-23 campaign.</p><p>Fortunately, the Bucks didn’t waste time and worked rather quickly to reach a new deal with one of their leaders and key shooters.</p><p>Connaughton has been a great stabilizing force for the Bucks in the past four years, and he has played his role to perfection to help Milwaukee become a dominant team in the East. Who could forget his incredible shooting during the 2021 NBA Finals when he averaged 47.5 percent from deep on 5.7 attempts per game? That was simply incredible!</p><p>The 29-year-old played in 65 games for the Bucks in 2021-22 and started in 19, averaging a career-high 9.9 points on top of 4.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists. He shot 39.5 percent from three, which was his best since his second year in the NBA.</p><p>Connaughton has been an important piece for the Bucks, and they let him know it with the new deal. Hopefully, the trust that Milwaukee showed him only motivates Connaugton further to continue his rise along Giannnis Antetokounmpo and his teammates.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
