If I’m not being who I need to be then we’re not going to get to where we want to get to. So, until that happens — and it will — yeah, if you’re looking for where to point, it’s right here.”</p><p>The Cavs remain atop the Eastern Conference standings with a 57-14 record. NBA veteran Patrick Beverley had referred to Scheyer with the nickname of “White Mike” because Scheyer had been willing to accept all challenges when playing against the best players in the Chicago area.</p><p>Scheyer had the time to talk about his play as a high school and college player because his Duke team been an easy victor in the first round of the NCAA Tournament when it defeated Mount St. Mary’s by a 93-49 margin. The game marked the return of Player of the Year candidate Cooper Flagg from a sprained ankle, and that was a major relief to Scheyer, his teammates and all Duke supporters.</p><p>The <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/ncaa-basketball/duke-basketball-news-jon-scheyer-blue-devils-pg-jeremy-roach-ncaa-tournament">Duke head coach</a> was the subject of Beverley’s podcast ahead of the start of the NCAA tournament. He said Scheyer had been given the nickname of “White Mike” because he took on all challenges and went to the most competitive locations in order to play in challenging situations when he was coming up in the sport. High School with 3,034 points. Scheyer averaged 32 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals as a senior. He played his college career at Duke and became the only player in Duke history to 2,000 points, 500 rebounds, 400 assists, 250 3-pointers and 200 steals.</p><p>The Blue Devils gained one of the No. 1 seeds in the tournament and they figure to get much more of a test from Baylor than they did against Mount St. Mary’s. Duke will bring a 32-3 record into the game in Raleigh and Scheyer’s team has won 12 games in a row.</p><p>The Blue Devils have not lost a game since suffering a 77-71 defeat at Clemson in early February. Flagg leads the team with an average of 18.7 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Smith continues to be a major talking point in NBA circles. As one would recall, James confronted Smith following the Los Angeles Lakers’ 113-109 win over the New York Knicks last week. James simply had enough of Smith’s criticisms of him and Bronny, and the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/los-angeles-lakers/lakers-news-matt-barnes-relates-lebron-james-rage-stephen-a-smith">Lakers star was annoyed</a> that Smith went as far as to “plead” with him as a father.</p><p>Smith said that the Lakers’ father and son duo should just pull the plug on the Bronny experiment, as the 20-year-old guard is simply being exposed for not being NBA-ready. Understandably, James would come to his son’s defense, sparking many reactions all over the sporting world. And James’ former Lakers teammate, Patrick Beverley, <a href="https://youtu.be/6QJEkCe-o-U?si=FndUSYhVwEdnXA2p&amp;t=1977" rel="noopener">said his piece</a>, saying that James was well within his rights to do what he did since Bronny should be directing his efforts towards furthering his career — not battling the media.</p><p>“You can at a certain age, but until I know you’re ready to fight those battles. Bronny is not ready to fight those battles yet. Let him play. That’s the battle he has to fight. The battle he has to fight right now is competition and basketball, he shouldn’t be fighting media, because none of his peers are fighting media,” Beverley said on the latest episode of The Pat Bev Podcast with Rone.</p><p>And it’s not like Smith simply hurled some criticisms towards Bronny; as was mentioned earlier, he was pleading with the Lakers star “as a father”, and indeed, some anger is justified when other people are looking to make parenting decisions for you, suggesting that they know what’s best for your child.</p><p>Beverley has a point, however, that Bronny’s battle right now is to continue improving himself as he looks to become a productive NBA player for the Lakers in the near future.</p><h2><b>Feud between Lakers’ LeBron James and Stephen A. The shocking news derailed what had been a promising campaign for the Spurs up to that point, one that was accelerated by the team acquiring De’Aaron Fox from the Sacramento Kings at the NBA trade deadline.</p><p>Recently, former NBA point guard Patrick Beverley took to his own “Pat Bev Pod” to relay his thoughts <a href="https://x.com/ClutchPoints/status/1895162606303813791" rel="noopener">on the situation.</a></p><p>“That’s scary, not only for basketball, but for Wemby… I think for De’Aaron Fox this is a good opportunity.
