Philadelphia 76ers forward Paul George recently gave Bailey a word of advice after Bailey canceled his workout with the organization.</p><p>During the latest episode of “Podcast P,” George claims that if he were Ace Bailey, then he <a href="https://x.com/PodcastPShow/status/1937613549104206299" rel="noopener">would not get mad</a> if his draft stock drops. He goes on to explain how he believes the 18-year-old forward has approached the NBA Draft the wrong way and how it could affect his outcome on draft night.</p><p>“If I’m Ace Bailey, I can’t get mad if my stock drops,” said George. “He’s canceled all workouts. He hasn’t worked out for any team… [Ace Bailey is not in a position to be making those demands. Make it to the league first… That’s a kid that’s been paid in college, bro. ‘I got money. I don’t care. I will tell you where I want to go.’ This is a business. Despite Ace Bailey canceling the workout with Philadelphia, there is still some speculation that the 76ers will choose him with the No. 3 overall pick. However, nothing is set in stone, as the rumor mill is packed with potential outcomes for Wednesday night.</p><p>Bailey enters the draft as a prospect with plenty of potential. His skillset on the court doesn’t seem to be all that big of a concern, for the most part. Paul George has already made such a case for the newest champion on the block.</p><p>The forward recently praised Oklahoma City <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/oklahoma-city-thunder/thunder-news-shai-gilgeous-alexander-son-nba-title">Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander</a> on his own “Podcast P with Paul George,” and <a href="https://hoopshype.com/rumor/paul-george-shai-gilgeous-alexander-is-going-to-hold-this-next-era-down/" rel="noopener">went further than a simple look</a> at the stat sheet, via HoopsHype.</p><p>“He’s putting himself in a category of his own of, you know, we hear the debate of who’s the face of the NBA and who’s the young face of the NBA. And, you know, I think Shai kind of, you know, is taken that to heart. He’s tough, man. I think he’s the future for sure, he’s going to be in that conversation of, when you look at the KDs the Stephs the Brons, they held the 2000s, 2010s, 2020s, they held those eras down. I think Shai is going to hold this next era down.”</p><p>Such an endorsement is not entirely unsurprising given the Philadelphia 76ers forward and Gilgeous-Alexander were traded for each other in 2019. The now infamous move sent the former to the Los Angeles Clippers and the latter to the Thunder.</p><p>Additionally, Oklahoma City received a heap of draft picks that helped the franchise earn its first championship. For example, the Clippers’ 2022 unprotected first-round pick <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/thunder-news-jalen-williams-gets-philosophical-while-reflecting-on-title-run">helped the Thunder draft Jalen Williams.</a></p><p>Gilgeous-Alexander is coming off of a spectacular season that saw him win just about everything a franchise star could hope for. In addition to his first championship, the Kentucky product was named league MVP, Western Conference Finals MVP, and NBA Finals MVP. He was also this past season’s scoring champion.</p><p>“You just know that he won’t fold,” teammate Lu Dort <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6445184/2025/06/23/shai-gilgeous-alexander-nba-finals-mvp-thunder-game-7/" rel="noopener">said of</a> Gilgeous-Alexander, via Marcus Thompson II of The Athletic. “When the pressure’s high, you know he’s still there and ready to go. It sets a tone. When you see your best player like that, the other guys will just follow and (know) we’re in a good position. The moment when Indiana Pacers guard <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/indiana-pacers/pacers-news-tyrese-haliburton-leaves-nba-finals-game-7-thunder-calf-injury">Tyrese Haliburton tore his Achilles in Game 7</a>  left fans shaken.</p><p>One of those fans was fellow NBA player Paul George. The 76ers guard <a href="https://hoopshype.com/rumor/3717871/" rel="noopener">emphatically stated</a> on his podcast, <i>Podcast P with Paul George</i>, he knew how bad it was when it happened, per Hoops Hype.</p><p>“I knew it was over from the moment, you know, you saw that,” George said. “Um, which is unfortunate cuz he came out hot, you know what I mean? He came out as a leader. Um, you could tell he was ready. He was prepared. Um, and then I knew right away once I seen him fall down. Then they replayed it. He looked back to see what happened. And then you you could you know read his lips when shout out Josh Corbiel who uh you know the trainer that was there um the first respond there you you could see him say like yep yep he it’s done it’s done it like I did it I did it happened. So yeah I feel for him feel for him.”</p><p>Before Game 7, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/indiana-pacers/pacers-news-tyrese-haliburton-calf-injury-update-puts-game-6-status-doubt">Haliburton injured his calf during Game 5</a>, which put his status in doubt. He fought through it in Game 6 as he scored 14 points in only 23 minutes of play to force a Game 7.</p><p>Despite that, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/indiana-pacers/pacers-news-tyrese-haliburton-injury-game-6">Haliburton had every intention to play</a> in the do-or-die Game 7.</p><p>The moment came in the first quarter as Haliburton fell to the floor and agonized in pain. He subsequently had to be helped back into the trainers’ room as the Pacers lost the title 103-91 to the Oklahoma City Thunder.</p><h2><b>Paul George offers a suggestion to Haliburton and the Pacers’ medical staff</b></h2><p>Haliburton <a href="https://sports.yahoo.com/nba/article/nba-finals-tyrese-haliburton-speaks-out-after-achilles-injury-in-game-7-apologizes-to-pacers-fans-032412477.html" rel="noopener">boldly stated</a> he had no regrets playing in Game 7 and would do it again.</p><p>To which George <a href="https://hoopshype.com/rumor/3717872/" rel="noopener">provided a recommendation</a> for Haliburton and the Pacers medical staff going forward.</p><p>I think at the end of the day, it falls on the player, right?,” George said. “At the end of the day, it falls on the player. But I do think there needs to be a better relationship because I’ve been on, like I said, been on organizations where like I’ll tell them, “Hey, this this is like this don’t feel right.” like, “Oh, take this. You’ll be all right.” Yeah. And then, you know, something happens and it’s getting worse and it’s worse and it’s worse, but there need to be there needs to be a better, you know, I think relationship amongst the player and the training staff with the front office. But in this situation, like again, you’re not going to hold nobody out of a game seven. Like, you’re not gonna hold me out of a game seven quarts in KD’s situation. Yeah. We’re in the finals. like you’re not going to hold me out. And I was thinking like, damn, he should probably like Indie should probably sit him game three, right? They can take a talented prospect or <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/philadelphia-76ers/nba-rumors-76ers-engage-spurs-trade-no-2-pick">trade the No. 3 pick</a>. The trade option is on the table because the 76ers still have Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey. That trio only played 15 games together last season, but it seems they are giving this experiment one more season.</p><p>According to Marc Stein and Jake Fischer at <i>The Stein Line</i>, the 76ers are content with bringing back their big three despite only appearing in 15 games together and having a 7-8 record. <a href="https://marcstein.substack.com/p/the-latest-nba-draft-intel-kevin?utm_source=post-email-title&amp;publication_id=392205&amp;post_id=166283635&amp;utm_campaign=email-post-title&amp;isFreemail=false&amp;r=39f60&amp;triedRedirect=true&amp;utm_medium=email" rel="noopener">They want to give this group one more shot together</a> to compete for an NBA championship and give the talent more time to gel because the sample size was so small.</p><p>The two insiders elaborated more on what Philadelphia plans to do: “By simply staying at No. 3, Philadelphia would introduce an $11.1 million salary onto its books for 2025-26. So the Sixers expect to operate near (or maybe even above) the second apron for this upcoming campaign, sources say, as they prepare to give Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey another shot to try to contend for a championship after they managed to appear in just 15 games (7-8) together this season.”</p><p>The big three of Embiid, George, and Maxey dealt with numerous injuries last season, and all three did not finish the season. It was not impressive, but with all three back next season, they think they can make it work after more time together and contend for a championship.</p><p>Philadelphia’s desire to remain in the top three is where the draft could get interesting, because Rutgers forward Ace Bailey <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/philadelphia-76ers/sources-ace-bailey-calls-off-76ers-meeting-workout-before-nba-draft">abruptly canceled his meeting and workout with the team</a>. If Bailey is no longer an option, the 76ers have a few options, but Baylor guard V.J. Edgecombe might be the frontrunner now.</p><p>Philadelphia is one of the weirder teams in the draft lottery because it genuinely has talent. That trio speaks for itself, but Jared McCain emerged as a reliable rookie before getting injured, and then Quentin Grimes exploded onto the scene while the team was dealing with injuries to its big three. Kelly Oubre Jr. is also worth mentioning as a key veteran.</p><p>Despite the roster being hamstrung money-wise, adding one of the best rookies at the top of the draft only helps the 76ers’ total potential next season, when they are going all-in for an NBA championship.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
