Washington</a> and has requested that the<a href="https://www.tmz.com/2025/10/01/brittany-renner-increase-pj-washington-child-support-payments/" rel="noopener"> child support be increased </a>from $5,00 to “at least $35,000” a month, according to TMZ Sports.</p><p>Renner said they agreed on the $5,500 a month when they were living together in North Carolina, but since she moved to California with their son, the cost of living has increased, which has made the original agreement not applicable to her current situation.</p><p>The social media personality told the outlet that she “cannot afford the high cost of living given the current child support orders” and is “struggling to make ends meet.” She added that the NBA star who just signed a <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/dallas-mavericks/mavericks-news-pj-washington-90-million-contract-extension" rel="noopener">4-year, $90 million contract extension with the Mavericks</a> is also around “less than 1/2 of the visitation time he is entitled to” which has made it a harder transition.</p><p>Renner wants their son’s lifestyle to be somewhat similar when he is with her, which she claims is not the case at the moment, noting that Washington’s life with his wife Alisah Chanel, whom he shares sons named Preston and Paxton, “has multiple luxury vehicles, constantly posts their designer shopping clothes, and boasts about luxury vacations.”</p><p>“They also constantly post their children wearing designer clothing,” Renner continued. “In contrast, I live in a humble Airbnb rental in West Hills and shop for [our son’s] clothes at Target.”</p><p>The social media personality says she “cannot provide [our son] a life anywhere similar to that of his father,” Renner wrote in the documents obtained by the outlet.</p><p>Washington married Alisah Chanel in 2023, and they welcomed Preston in 2022 and Paxton in February 2025. Shams Charania of ESPN <a href="https://x.com/ShamsCharania/status/1968804746048819503" rel="noopener">reported the news</a>. Smith began his NBA career in Dallas during the 2017-18 season, so the agreed upon contract represents a reunion between the Mavs and the veteran guard. After the news was announced, Mavericks forward PJ Washington welcomed Smith back to Dallas <a href="https://x.com/JoeyMistretta_/status/1969076117068763503" rel="noopener">with a post</a> on his Instagram Story.</p><p>“Welcome back family,” Washington wrote.</p><p>Washington, who has emerged as one of the leaders on the team, is seemingly excited for Smith’s return. The Mavericks feature plenty of star-power on the roster, but depth is also of the utmost importance.</p><p>Smith most recently appeared at the NBA level during the 2023-24 campaign with the Brooklyn Nets. He’s enjoyed some respectable seasons during his time in the league, but his future in the NBA was uncertain after not playing in the league this past season.</p><p>The <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/dallas-mavericks/1-mavericks-player-in-danger-of-losing-starting-job-in-2025-26-training-camp">Mavericks are currently preparing for training camp</a> and the preseason, where Smith will attempt to earn a role on the NBA team. He is eligible to play in the G League if he doesn’t make the 15-man roster. Either way, Smith gives the Mavs extra guard depth — something that will be especially important with Kyrie Irving not expected to return until January or February of 2026.</p><p>The Mavs will begin training camp in early October. Dallas’ roster is set for the most part, but there will be opportunities for certain players to try to earn spots with the team. Mavs fans were frustrated last season following the shocking Luka Doncic trade. However, expectations are high for Anthony Davis in his first full season with Dallas. Additionally, 2025 No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg is set to make his Mavericks debut.</p><p>Dallas features a competitive roster. Will there be some lingering frustration from the Doncic trade? Most likely, but many Mavericks fans are still excited for the future of the team.</p><p>The Mavs last won a championship in 2011. Dallas most recently appeared in the NBA Finals in 2024, ultimately losing to the Boston Celtics. General manager Nico Harrison boldly stated that “defense wins championships” following the Doncic move. Although Harrison may never truly win back the fanbase following such a surprising trade, a Mavs championship within the next year or two would certainly help matters.</p><p>Training camp is scheduled to begin in early October.
