However, <a href="https://twitter.com/raptorsrepublic/status/1502488190107762690" rel="noopener">Booker ended up tackling</a> Achiuwa, who dropped to the floor and stayed down for a bit after the hard fall.</p><p>Booker and the Suns were having a hard time against the Raptors, trailing 78-71 at that point, so it’s not surprising why the All-Star guard was frustrated with the turnover. While some would argue that he got the ball first, there was clearly unnecessary force that led to the Raptors big falling to the floor.</p><p>It’s rare to see Devin Booker commit such acts, and it should be a lesson he needs to learn from. He can’t allow himself to be in such situations, especially since it can lead him to getting ejected in games or even suspended.</p><p>With Chris Paul <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/suns-news-chris-paul-injury-update-from-monty-williams-wont-please-fans/" rel="noopener">injured and sidelined</a>–perhaps for the remainder of the regular season–the Suns can’t afford to lose Booker as well.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

That’s doubly true for NBA players, who live and breathe a highly structured lifestyle.</p><p>The unpredictable nature of the COVID-19 era, then, has completely disrupted those usual patterns, pulling players in and out of health and safety protocols, yanking them from in-rhythm stretches and making it difficult to establish long-term flow on the floor.</p><p>Currently, there are over 50 players in the protocols, with that number rising exceptionally quickly as each day passes.</p><p>One player who just returned from isolation, however, is Precious Achiuwa, who had been held out of the Toronto Raptors’ previous four games for that reason. </p><p>“It was good to be out there,” Achiuwa told reporters. “Being able to play again, I’ve been out. Little bit of shoulder tendonitis and then isolation, so I’ve been out for quite some time but it was good to be out there again. I’m getting my lungs back, getting back into game shape.”</p><p>Achiuwa looked excellent in his return, his energy and defensive acumen a welcome addition to the Raptors’ constantly fluctuating bench. He dropped 17 points and<a href="https://clutchpoints.com/warriors-news-dubs-gm-bob-myers-makes-shocking-lamelo-ball-confession/" rel="noopener"> five rebounds on the</a> decimated Golden State Warriors Saturday, playing just 23 minutes in a blowout victory.</p><p>But perhaps even more intriguing than his strong performance was Achiuwa’s post-game revelation about how he spent his extra time during his isolation period, with his typical schedule entirely thrown off.</p><p>“I cooked,” the Raptors talent said. “I did that. I ain’t cooked in so long. Finally I cooked for a little bit, I was home. Binge watched a lot of shows, watched a lot of movies. I had to get real creative in my house. </p><p>“I’m very diverse. I’m a chef. Not just the milk and the Oreos thing, trust. I’m not just a snack specialist. I’m all around the place and I can do a lot of things.”</p><p>Of course, while the matter of players having <a href="https://www.basketball-reference.com/" rel="noopener">their agendas displaced</a> certainly demands some level of concern, there is a larger understanding that health (particularly long-term health) needs to remain at the forefront of everyone’s minds as the pandemic continues to bear down. </p><p>“We just gotta do what we gotta do to make sure everybody stays safe,” Precious Achiuwa said, “especially right now with the way the virus is going across the league and the nation. Definitely.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">NBA</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>Team USA kicked off its final preparations for the upcoming Olympic Games with an exhibition match with Nigeria on Saturday night. <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/sports/nba/brooklyn-nets">Brooklyn Nets</a> star <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/sports/nba/players/kevin-durant/b0360985">Kevin Durant</a> had bad intentions on an audacious dunk attempt but unfortunately for him, it resulted in an epic block from <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/sports/nba/miami-heat">Miami Heat</a> rookie Precious Achiuwa.</p><p>Here’s a look at KD almost putting Achiuwa on a poster. He would have been on the wrong end of a poster had he not timed his jump to perfection — and we all know how many others have already fallen victim to KD at the rim. Achiuwa met Durant at the apex, though, and it resulted in a truly memorable block for the Heat youngster.</p><p>This is Team USA’s first exhibition match as they tune up for the upcoming Olympic games in Tokyo. The national squad actually had a bit of a scare earlier in the week with three players from the Select Team being removed from training camp after <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/team-usa-news-immanuel-quickley-among-3-players-removed-from-training-camp-due-covid-19-protocols/" rel="noopener">testing positive for COVID-19</a>. The Heat used that pick on big man Precious Achiuwa to help provide support in the frontcourt.</p><p>Miami is off to a rough start in 2020-21 after the shortened offseason. The defending Eastern Conference champions are 6-12 thanks to a variety of key absences, namely Jimmy Butler. If there’s a silver lining, though, it’s that Achiuwa is getting a good opportunity to carve out a role for himself.</p><p>Find out why the rookie is a player to look out for and why it’s a good move to invest in his cards.</p><h2><b>1. Precious Achiuwa is playing more</b></h2><p>The Heat’s health woes aren’t good for the team, but Achiuwa is getting a nice opportunity off the bench behind frontcourt starters Bam Adebayo and Kelly Olynyk. </p><figure><img src="https://clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Heat-news-Bam-Adebayo-makes-bold-claim-about-Miami-rookie-Precious-Achiuwa.jpg"></figure><p>The rookie’s increased role from the bench allows him to adjust faster to the league’s style of play. Achiuwa will have the chance to learn the Heat’s system and use it to contribute, especially on the defensive side of things. If he makes the most out of this opportunity, Achiuwa will become a staple of Miami’s second unit in the games to come. </p><p>The big man <a href="https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/a/achiupr01.html" rel="noopener">is currently averaging</a> 7.6 rebounds and 5.0 rebounds in 16.2 minutes per game while shooting 63.5% from the field. So, he’s certainly making some noise early on in his career, even if he’s not making a major role.</p><p>If Achiuwa continues to develop and the Heat make a push for the playoffs, his card value will rise with the more exposure he gets this season.</p><h2><b>2. He has the chance to be good on defense</b></h2><p>Although card fans value players who are skilled offensively, there’s always a strong case to be made for those who play great defense. Precious Achiuwa has the potential to become that player for Miai. </p><p>The rookie possesses a 225-pound frame packed inside a 6-foot-8 body. This physique allows Achiuwa to stand his ground, especially against taller and more muscular opponents. If Achiuwa learns to improve his feel for the game, he will be a force to be reckoned with on the defensive side of the court.</p><h2><b>3. Miami’s culture will be good for Precious Achiuwa’s stock</b></h2><p>Ask any fan what stands out the most about the Heat and you’ll likely get their famed culture as the answer. The combination of Pat Riley in the front office and <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/erik-spoelstra-is-easily-the-best-coach-left-in-the-nba-playoffs/">Erik Spoelstra</a> as head coach serves as the tip of Miami’s culture. Their hard-nosed approach to working hard and playing basketball as a team has produced positive results. </p><figure><img src="https://clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Pat-Riley_s-hyped-assessment-of-Miami_s-Draft-Day-selection.jpg"></figure><p>Precious Achiuwa stands to gain a lot from the Heat’s culture. For one, the rookie will quickly learn the ins and outs of the league and use those lessons to his advantage. If he allows himself to be mentored by Spoelstra, Butler, and Bam Adebayo, the rookie will carve out a definite role in Miami. If his potential is fully realized because of the Heat’s tutelage, his value on the card market will fly high.</p><p>Many were caught unaware when Tyler Herro suddenly broke out in the bubble. It’s better not to make the same mistake with Achiuwa this year.
