Even though Toronto fought back to cut the deficit to single digits, the Celtics made enough plays down the stretch to fend off the rally.</p><p>Perimeter shooting and stocks (steals and blocks) made the difference in this matchup. The Celtics prevailed in both categories by making 20 3-pointers and recording 17 stocks. It wasn’t the same for the Raptors as they only made nine triples while having eight stocks.</p><p>Five players scored in double-digits for Boston in the win, including Brown. He dominated with a stat line of 30 points, eight rebounds, five assists, one steal, and a block. He shot 9-of-19 from the field, including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc, and 9-of-9 from the free-throw line. Derrick White came next with 27 points and five assists, Payton Pritchard had 15 points and six assists, Anfernee Simons put up 12 points and three rebounds, while Neemias Queta provided 11 points and 11 rebounds.</p><p>Boston improved to a 15-9 record on the season, holding the third spot in the Eastern Conference standings. They are above the Raptors by 0.5 games and Philadelphia 76ers by one game while trailing the New York Knicks by 1.5 games and Detroit Pistons by four games.</p><p>Rolling with five straight wins, the Celtics will look forward to their next matchup, being on the road. They improved to 15-7, including 8-2 at home.</p><p>The Raptors ended their two-game skid after fending off the furious rally of the Trail Blazers in the fourth quarter.</p><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/toronto-raptors/raptors-news-scottie-barnes-vince-carter-hype-dunk-blazers">Barnes scored a game-high 28 points</a> on 10-of-18 marksmanship from the field. He also tallied seven rebounds, seven assists, and two blocks.</p><p>The Raptors once again missed the services of RJ Barrett, who’s still out for at least a week due to a knee injury.</p><p>While they got the win, the 24-year-old Barnes stressed that they need the 25-year-old Barrett <a href="https://x.com/OmerOsman200/status/1996072816857546777?s=20" rel="noopener">on the floor</a>.</p><p>“We miss him out there. The stuff he does for our team is tremendous. He brings so much to the game. Of course, we miss him,” said Barnes, as reported by Raptors reporter Omar Osman.</p><p>Osman also shared a video of the former Duke standout happily joining the Raptors’ conga line on the sideline on one leg. Early in the final frame, Scottie Barnes sent the entire arena into a frenzy after a monster jam. Many consider him the greatest dunker of all time. He put Toronto on the map when he played for the team from 1998 to 2004.</p><p>Surely, the 24-year-old Barnes has seen clips of Carter, and it’s safe to assume that he wants to carry the legacy of the man nicknamed “Half-Man, Half-Amazing” with the Raptors.</p><p>While the Trail Blazers went on a surge in the closing quarter to keep the game close, the Raptors held on for the hard-earned victory, 121-118.</p><p>Barnes finished with a team-high 28 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and two blocks.
