He joined ClutchPoints in 2023.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">Golden State Warriors</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>Recently, it was announced that the Golden State Warriors would be <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/golden-state-warriors/warriors-news-why-seth-curry-will-be-waived-preseason-re-sign-november">signing free agent guard Seth Curry</a>, a sharpshooter in his own right and also the brother of <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/golden-state-warriors/warriors-news-golden-state-season-17-stephen-curry-post-fans">franchise icon Stephen Curry.</a> Fans are hoping that the Curry family reunion will pay dividends for a Warriors team that is looking to make one final push in the current era of their team.</p><p>Seth Curry wore number 30, the same number as his brother, during his most recent stop with the Charlotte Hornets, and recently, he joked about trying to <a href="https://x.com/957thegame/status/1973855831084183645" rel="noopener">get that number</a> on the Warriors as well.</p><p>“I tried to buy it from him (Steph). He said he didn’t need the money. Don’t think the NBA would like it either,” said Curry, per 95.7 The Game on X, formerly Twitter.</p><p>The younger Curry brother also spoke on how he is looking forward to getting acclimated with how things roll in the Bay Area.</p><p>“I’ve probably watched 95 percent of Warriors games the last 16 years. So I kinda know their style,” said Curry, per Anthony Slater of The Athletic on X, formerly Twitter.</p><h2><b>Can the Warriors stay competitive?</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Seth-Curry-and-Stephen-Curry.jpg"><figcaption>Darren Yamashita-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>Heading into this season, the Golden State Warriors are projected to have one of the oldest lineups in recent NBA history, with Stephen Curry (37), Jimmy Butler (36), Draymond Green (35), and the recently-signed Al Horford (39) all expected to be in the lineup.</p><p>At the age of 35, Seth Curry would actually lower the average age of Golden State’s starting lineup, although he will in all likelihood come off the bench for Steve Kerr and company.</p><p>The Warriors are trying to wring everything they can out of the Stephen Curry era. The team last won a championship in 2022 and has won just two playoff series since then, casting doubt as to whether or not they will ever be able to rekindle their magic of the dynastic days.</p><p>Still, perhaps the addition of Seth Curry and the firepower he can bring off the bench will help the team get over the hump this year in a crowded Western Conference playoff picture.</p><p>The Warriors will kick off their 2025-26 season on October 22 against the Los Angeles Lakers.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

Be sure to follow him on Twitter @BrettSiegelNBA.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">Golden State Warriors</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>Aside from Tuesday being the first full day of training camp for the Golden State Warriors after the pomp and circumstance of Media Day, it was also a day for the organization to finalize contract agreements they’ve been waiting for all offseason.</p><p>With <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/golden-state-warriors/warriors-news-jonathan-kuminga-ends-rfa-holdout-48-million-contract">Jonathan Kuminga agreeing to a two-year contract</a> that could be worth up to $48.5 million if he’s traded, the doors finally opened for the Warriors to finalize other contract agreements. Al Horford signed a two-year, $12 million contract with a player option, and De’Anthony Melton agreed to a two-year deal with a player option at the minimum.</p><p>On top of <a href="https://x.com/BrettSiegelNBA/status/1973218818081091927" rel="noopener">all the deals</a> that Golden State finalized on Tuesday evening, Seth Curry’s is the most unique.</p><p>Finally, the Curry brothers will play alongside one another, as Seth’s career is taking a full-circle approach. After going undrafted out of Duke in 2013, Curry signed a non-guaranteed contract with the Warriors and played in the NBA D League (now known as the G League) with the Santa Cruz Warriors.</p><p>The sharpshooting 35-year-old guard is the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/golden-state-warriors/warriors-news-seth-curry-joining-stephen-curry-one-year-golden-state-contract">latest veteran to join the Warriors</a>, and he will occupy the team’s 15th and final roster spot. However, there are some caveats to the actual contract he just signed on Tuesday that don’t actually make him a full member of the team just yet.</p><p>Curry signed an Exhibit 9 training camp contract with the Warriors, which is a non-guaranteed contract that protects him financially from a possible injury. While this is technically a “one-year contract,” it’s a deal designed to be terminated before the start of the regular season or directly converted to a standard contract.</p><p>The main reason why Curry will be waived before the regular season begins and after practicing and playing with the team in the preseason is because of the <a href="https://x.com/BrettSiegelNBA/status/1973181762525340089" rel="noopener">team’s financial crisis</a>.</p><p>After signing Kuminga, Horford, and Melton, the Warriors’ payroll before Seth is $205.7 million. Since Horford signed for the full taxpayer mid-level exception ($5.8 million this season), Golden State is hard-capped at the second apron — $207.8 million this year.</p><p>A one-year contract for a veteran like Seth Curry counts as $2.29 million on the books, which is above the $2 million buffer the Warriors have before the second apron.</p><p>What this means is that the Warriors will need to waive Curry before the season begins and then wait until the week of November 10 to sign him for the remainder of the season. The reason Golden State needs to wait until this specific date is that this is when his contract will be prorated to a point where the team can sign him and remain below the second apron.</p><p>It is all a money game for the Warriors’ front office at this point, which is why Seth Curry has signed, will be waived before the start of the regular season, and then sign again with the team in November.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

Well, you've come to the right place.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">Golden State Warriors</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>After finally getting the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/golden-state-warriors/warriors-news-jonathan-kuminga-ends-rfa-holdout-48-million-contract">Jonathan Kuminga extension out of the way</a>, the Golden Warriors have reunited Stephen and Seth Curry.</p><p>Taking to social media to announce the decision to reunite the Curry Brothers in Golden State ahead of training camp on Wednesday, ESPN Senior NBA Insider Shams Charania officially broke the news, noting when fans will be able to see the duo <a href="https://x.com/ShamsCharania/status/1973179696084033677" rel="noopener">on the court together once more</a>.</p><p>“Free agent guard Seth Curry has agreed to a one-year deal with the Golden State Warriors, sources tell ESPN,” Shams Charania wrote. “Seth and Stephen Curry team up on the Warriors beginning with training camp on Wednesday.”</p><p>Originally making his way to the NBA as an undrafted free agent out of Duke, Seth Curry signed his first contract with the Warriors all the way back in August of 2013, where he was a hopeful backcourt partner for his brother Stephen. Although he was ultimately waived before the start of the season, he ended up beginning his career with the then-D-League Santa Cruz Warriors, a team he would play with on multiple occasions during his NBA career.</p><p>From there, Curry bounced around the NBA, playing for the Memphis Grizzlies, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, Portland Trail Blazers, and Dallas Mavericks, arguably his signature team. Though his run with the Mavs ultimately didn’t last, moving to the Philadelphia 76ers and then the Brooklyn Nets, he returned to Dallas to serve as a shooting specialist next to Luka Doncic.</p><p>After spending the 2024-25 season playing in Charlotte, Curry’s career now comes full circle with another contract with the Warriors, where he will compete in training camp alongside other <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/nba-stories/siegels-scoop-jonathan-kuminga-best-contract-warriors-compromise">offseason additions like Al Horford</a> for a <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/nba-stories/siegels-scoop-jonathan-kuminga-best-contract-warriors-compromise">long-rumored reunion with his brother</a>, even if he may not ultimately sign a full NBA contract with Golden State until November, when the team will have <a href="https://x.com/brettsiegelnba/status/1973181762525340089?s=46&amp;t=vnLDgTn4yNZudl1UzUUjJA" rel="noopener">more flexibility</a> according to ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

He joined ClutchPoints in 2023.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">Golden State Warriors</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>The Golden State Warriors are hoping that the trio of <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/golden-state-warriors/warriors-news-stephen-curry-responds-jimmy-butler-latest-batman-comments">Stephen Curry</a>, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green will be enough to allow them to contend next year in the Western Conference alongside a Motley crew of role players. While <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/golden-state-warriors/warriors-news-jimmy-butler-dryamond-green-batmobile">Green is no longer</a> the player he was in his prime, his trash-talking skills have not diminished at all.</p><p>Recently, Stephen Curry’s brother Seth, also an NBA sharpshooter, recalled an incident where Green <a href="https://x.com/TheWarriorsTalk/status/1953506125107872164" rel="noopener">talked smack to him</a>–with his brother standing in the immediate vicinity.</p><p>“I’m at the free throw line, and Draymond’s out there. We’re talking… I say something, and he’s like ‘why are you talking? You’re a journeyman. Every team in the league.’ It was funny because Steph was right there. It was kind of awkward,” said Curry, per iHeartRadio, via TheWarriorsTalk on X, formerly Twitter.</p><p>Draymond Green has indeed been known as one of the NBA’s biggest trash talkers during his tenure in the league, most notably informing Paul Pierce that he wouldn’t get the same love that Kobe Bryant did during his retirement farewell tour.</p><p>Unfortunately for the Warriors, Green’s antics have at times become a major distraction, with him serving multiple suspensions during playoff runs and also punching teammate Jordan Poole prior to the 2023-24 season, which hung a major cloud over that campaign.</p><h2><b>Can the Warriors compete?</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Stephen-Curry-before-a-game.jpg"><figcaption>Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports</figcaption></figure><p>The Warriors last year looked like a legitimate threat right up until Stephen Curry got injured in the first quarter of their second round series vs the Minnesota Timberwolves. While Golden State hung on and won that game, they would lose the next four, bringing a promising season in the wake of the Jimmy Butler trade to an unceremonious end.</p><p>The Warriors have yet to make any notable moves so far this offseason, and the only real question for the team now is how they will handle the Jonathan Kuminga saga, which could be nearing its finish line.</p><p>In any case, when Green keeps his temper in check, he remains one of the more unique players in the league and an integral part of the Warriors’ success.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
