He joined ClutchPoints in 2023.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">Golden State Warriors</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>Recently, it was announced that the Golden State Warriors would be <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/golden-state-warriors/warriors-news-why-seth-curry-will-be-waived-preseason-re-sign-november">signing free agent guard Seth Curry</a>, a sharpshooter in his own right and also the brother of <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/golden-state-warriors/warriors-news-golden-state-season-17-stephen-curry-post-fans">franchise icon Stephen Curry.</a> Fans are hoping that the Curry family reunion will pay dividends for a Warriors team that is looking to make one final push in the current era of their team.</p><p>Seth Curry wore number 30, the same number as his brother, during his most recent stop with the Charlotte Hornets, and recently, he joked about trying to <a href="https://x.com/957thegame/status/1973855831084183645" rel="noopener">get that number</a> on the Warriors as well.</p><p>“I tried to buy it from him (Steph). He said he didn’t need the money. Don’t think the NBA would like it either,” said Curry, per 95.7 The Game on X, formerly Twitter.</p><p>The younger Curry brother also spoke on how he is looking forward to getting acclimated with how things roll in the Bay Area.</p><p>“I’ve probably watched 95 percent of Warriors games the last 16 years. So I kinda know their style,” said Curry, per Anthony Slater of The Athletic on X, formerly Twitter.</p><h2><b>Can the Warriors stay competitive?</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Seth-Curry-and-Stephen-Curry.jpg"><figcaption>Darren Yamashita-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>Heading into this season, the Golden State Warriors are projected to have one of the oldest lineups in recent NBA history, with Stephen Curry (37), Jimmy Butler (36), Draymond Green (35), and the recently-signed Al Horford (39) all expected to be in the lineup.</p><p>At the age of 35, Seth Curry would actually lower the average age of Golden State’s starting lineup, although he will in all likelihood come off the bench for Steve Kerr and company.</p><p>The Warriors are trying to wring everything they can out of the Stephen Curry era. The team last won a championship in 2022 and has won just two playoff series since then, casting doubt as to whether or not they will ever be able to rekindle their magic of the dynastic days.</p><p>Still, perhaps the addition of Seth Curry and the firepower he can bring off the bench will help the team get over the hump this year in a crowded Western Conference playoff picture.</p><p>The Warriors will kick off their 2025-26 season on October 22 against the Los Angeles Lakers.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

Be sure to follow him on Twitter @BrettSiegelNBA.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">Golden State Warriors</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>Aside from Tuesday being the first full day of training camp for the Golden State Warriors after the pomp and circumstance of Media Day, it was also a day for the organization to finalize contract agreements they’ve been waiting for all offseason.</p><p>With <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/golden-state-warriors/warriors-news-jonathan-kuminga-ends-rfa-holdout-48-million-contract">Jonathan Kuminga agreeing to a two-year contract</a> that could be worth up to $48.5 million if he’s traded, the doors finally opened for the Warriors to finalize other contract agreements. Al Horford signed a two-year, $12 million contract with a player option, and De’Anthony Melton agreed to a two-year deal with a player option at the minimum.</p><p>On top of <a href="https://x.com/BrettSiegelNBA/status/1973218818081091927" rel="noopener">all the deals</a> that Golden State finalized on Tuesday evening, Seth Curry’s is the most unique.</p><p>Finally, the Curry brothers will play alongside one another, as Seth’s career is taking a full-circle approach. After going undrafted out of Duke in 2013, Curry signed a non-guaranteed contract with the Warriors and played in the NBA D League (now known as the G League) with the Santa Cruz Warriors.</p><p>The sharpshooting 35-year-old guard is the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/golden-state-warriors/warriors-news-seth-curry-joining-stephen-curry-one-year-golden-state-contract">latest veteran to join the Warriors</a>, and he will occupy the team’s 15th and final roster spot. However, there are some caveats to the actual contract he just signed on Tuesday that don’t actually make him a full member of the team just yet.</p><p>Curry signed an Exhibit 9 training camp contract with the Warriors, which is a non-guaranteed contract that protects him financially from a possible injury. While this is technically a “one-year contract,” it’s a deal designed to be terminated before the start of the regular season or directly converted to a standard contract.</p><p>The main reason why Curry will be waived before the regular season begins and after practicing and playing with the team in the preseason is because of the <a href="https://x.com/BrettSiegelNBA/status/1973181762525340089" rel="noopener">team’s financial crisis</a>.</p><p>After signing Kuminga, Horford, and Melton, the Warriors’ payroll before Seth is $205.7 million. Since Horford signed for the full taxpayer mid-level exception ($5.8 million this season), Golden State is hard-capped at the second apron — $207.8 million this year.</p><p>A one-year contract for a veteran like Seth Curry counts as $2.29 million on the books, which is above the $2 million buffer the Warriors have before the second apron.</p><p>What this means is that the Warriors will need to waive Curry before the season begins and then wait until the week of November 10 to sign him for the remainder of the season. The reason Golden State needs to wait until this specific date is that this is when his contract will be prorated to a point where the team can sign him and remain below the second apron.</p><p>It is all a money game for the Warriors’ front office at this point, which is why Seth Curry has signed, will be waived before the start of the regular season, and then sign again with the team in November.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

Well, you've come to the right place.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">Golden State Warriors</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>After finally getting the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/golden-state-warriors/warriors-news-jonathan-kuminga-ends-rfa-holdout-48-million-contract">Jonathan Kuminga extension out of the way</a>, the Golden Warriors have reunited Stephen and Seth Curry.</p><p>Taking to social media to announce the decision to reunite the Curry Brothers in Golden State ahead of training camp on Wednesday, ESPN Senior NBA Insider Shams Charania officially broke the news, noting when fans will be able to see the duo <a href="https://x.com/ShamsCharania/status/1973179696084033677" rel="noopener">on the court together once more</a>.</p><p>“Free agent guard Seth Curry has agreed to a one-year deal with the Golden State Warriors, sources tell ESPN,” Shams Charania wrote. “Seth and Stephen Curry team up on the Warriors beginning with training camp on Wednesday.”</p><p>Originally making his way to the NBA as an undrafted free agent out of Duke, Seth Curry signed his first contract with the Warriors all the way back in August of 2013, where he was a hopeful backcourt partner for his brother Stephen. Although he was ultimately waived before the start of the season, he ended up beginning his career with the then-D-League Santa Cruz Warriors, a team he would play with on multiple occasions during his NBA career.</p><p>From there, Curry bounced around the NBA, playing for the Memphis Grizzlies, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, Portland Trail Blazers, and Dallas Mavericks, arguably his signature team. While <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/golden-state-warriors/warriors-news-jimmy-butler-dryamond-green-batmobile">Green is no longer</a> the player he was in his prime, his trash-talking skills have not diminished at all.</p><p>Recently, Stephen Curry’s brother Seth, also an NBA sharpshooter, recalled an incident where Green <a href="https://x.com/TheWarriorsTalk/status/1953506125107872164" rel="noopener">talked smack to him</a>–with his brother standing in the immediate vicinity.</p><p>“I’m at the free throw line, and Draymond’s out there. We’re talking… I say something, and he’s like ‘why are you talking? You’re a journeyman. Every team in the league.’ It was funny because Steph was right there. Speaking from the Edgewood Tahoe golf course during a recent media appearance, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/golden-state-warriors/warriors-rumors-ben-simmons-seth-curry-free-agent-targets">Seth addressed the growing buzz</a> surrounding a potential reunion with his brother, and <a href="https://www.nbcsportsbayarea.com/nba/golden-state-warriors/seth-steph-curry-nba-makes-sense/1862257/" rel="noopener">he didn’t shy away from the intrigue</a>.</p><p>“They play a good brand of basketball,” he says of the Warriors. “I feel like I’ve been a part of Dub Nation for a while, watching Steph and being around the organization. Obviously, they, like any team, could use shooting.</p><p>“But I can’t say anything other than I’m trying to find the best place for me.”</p><p>The fit makes sense. Seth, 34, remains one of the NBA’s elite shooters, leading the league last season with a blistering 45.6% from beyond the arc. His career 43.3% clip ranks just ahead of his brother’s 42.3% and would fill a glaring need for the Warriors, who finished just 16th in 3-point percentage last season.</p><p>Even Doc Rivers, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/golden-state-warriors/warriors-news-doc-rivers-pushes-warriors-stephen-curry-family-reunion">Seth’s father-in-law</a> and head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks, endorsed the move, saying on The Bill Simmons Podcast, “I actually think the perfect place for him would be Golden State.”</p><h2><b>Could the Warriors make a brotherly reunion happen?</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Steph-Curry-Seth-Curry-Warriors-ii.jpg"><figcaption>Darren Yamashita-USA TODAY Sports</figcaption></figure><p>Despite limited roster space and concerns about the luxury tax, the Warriors could add Seth on a veteran minimum deal, giving them another floor spacer alongside Steph, Buddy Hield, and rookie Quinten Post. While the brothers wouldn’t log heavy minutes together due to defensive concerns, Seth’s presence would ensure that one Curry is always on the court to stretch defenses.</p><p>Golden State first gave Seth a shot in 2013 training camp but waived him just days before the opener. Now, 12 years later, the timing may finally be right.</p><p>“For me, it’s basketball first,” Seth said. “If they need what I do, if they need my services… then it’s something I’d consider.”</p><p>With the market slowing and the Warriors holding off on finalizing their roster, the stars may finally align for the Curry brothers to share an NBA court, this time in Golden State.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

The lone move involving the Warriors so far has been <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/new-orleans-pelicans/pelicans-news-new-orleans-signs-3-time-nba-champion-warriors-free-agency">Kevon Looney’s departure to the New Orleans Pelicans in free agency</a>. But the Warriors have been <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/nba-stories/siegels-scoop-bradley-beal-jonathan-kuminga-nba-summer-league-intel" rel="noopener">linked to several free agents</a> in recent days, including Ben Simmons and Seth Curry, as per ClutchPoints NBA insider Brett Siegel.</p><p>While the Warriors have been mentioned as having free agent interest in players such as Gary Payton II, Malcolm Brogdan and Trey Lyles, Siegel notes that the team has shown recent interest in Ben Simmons and Seth Curry during the early days of summer league.</p><p>The Warriors have several roster spots open, however, it’s <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/golden-state-warriors/warriors-rumors-shams-explains-dubs-done-nothing-free-agency">unlikely they make any moves until the Jonathan Kuminga situation is resolved</a>. Kuminga is a restricted free agent and has <a href="https://x.com/BrettSiegelNBA/status/1944069003883819108" rel="noopener">drawn interest from other teams</a> via a potential sign-and-trade, but there’s no indication that the Warriors are looking to move on from him just yet.</p><p>But when it comes to potential targets for the Warriors, Simmons and Curry would be pretty decent options for the team. Should the Warriors sign Curry, it would be the first time that he would play alongside his brother Stephen Curry on an NBA roster.</p><p>Curry is coming off a solid season with the Charlotte Hornets during which he appeared in 68 games, including 14 starts, at a little over 15 minutes per game. He averaged 6.5 points and 1.7 rebounds and shot 45.6 percent from the three-point line at close to three attempts per game.</p><p>For Simmons, following his buyout from the Brooklyn Nets, he signed with the LA Clippers and was rather solid overall in a reserve role. He’s not going to be the No. 1 pick and All-Star he once was, but for a depth piece and rotation player, he can be a good pickup.</p><p>During the second half of the season, Simmons appeared in 18 games for the Clippers off the bench in a little over 16 minutes per game. He averaged 2.9 rebounds, 3.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists with splits of 43.4 percent shooting from the field and 85.7 percent shooting from the free-throw line.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

Star Warriors guard Stephen Curry was impressed by the throwback jersey the Hornets are wearing. Seeing his brother Seth Curry’s name on the back reminded him of their father, Dell Curry.</p><p>Stephen <a href="https://x.com/rodboone/status/1896619669639106658" rel="noopener">described the feeling of seeing the jersey</a> in a video posted to Twitter/X by Rod Boone of the Charlotte Observer.</p><p>“The pinstripe throwbacks, when I seen Curry #30 on the back, that is wild,” Stephen said. “I’ve always wondered what it would be like to play here and represent the Curry family. I need to get one of those 2024-25 pinstripe throwbacks because I have one of my dad’s too.”</p><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/warriors-news-stephen-curry-accomplishes-feat-not-seen-2018-19-season">Stephen has hardly slowed down</a> in his age 36 season. He leads the Warriors in scoring with 24.1 points per game, adding 4.5 rebounds and 6.2 assists while shooting 44.7% from the field and 39.6% from 3-point range.</p><p>Seth is averaging 6.2 points and 1.6 rebounds for the Hornets while shooting 47.1% from the field and 45.3% from 3-point range.</p><p>Tipoff between the Warriors and Hornets is set for 7 p.m. ET.</p><h2><b>Stephen Curry’s dunking career has come to an end</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/unnamed-2_75d122.jpg"><figcaption>Bill Streicher-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>In the Golden State Warriors’ 126-119 road loss against the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night, guard Stephen Curry did something he had not done since 2019.</p><p>With seven minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Curry <a href="https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/44076264/warriors-steph-curry-notches-1st-slam-2019-says-my-last-dunk" rel="noopener">threw down a dunk</a>. After the game, Curry mentioned that was probably his last dunk.</p><p>“That will probably be my last dunk,” Curry said. “I’m calling it right now. That was the last one you’re going to see.”</p><p>Curry remembers his last dunk well. It took place when the Warriors still called Oracle Arena home, prior to their move from Oakland to San Francisco.</p><p>“Of course I do,” Curry said on if he remembered his last dunk. “Six years ago. At home. Right wing. The right corner. A little back cut. I think it was a pass from KD (Kevin Durant). I was at Oracle. I never dunked at Chase [Center]. How about that?”</p><p>Curry explained the physical rigor of getting up to the rim and how he will stick to lay-ups from now on, something he is quite skilled at.</p><p>“And you want to take advantage of a cherry-pick opportunity,” Curry said. “That will probably be my last dunk though. … For sure, I will only lay the ball up. He played eight games for Charlotte, averaging nine points per game.</p><p>Curry has played for nine franchises in his 11-year NBA career, averaging 10.4 points per game while shooting 43 percent from beyond the 3-point line.</p><p>Denver Nuggets point guard Reggie Jackson had already exercised his $5.3M player option for the 2024-25 season. However, Jackson’s plans to stay in Denver came to a screeching halt last month when the Nuggets dealt Jackson to the Hornets.</p><p>The Hornets are still searching for a solid guard rotation to build around LaMelo Ball. While Charlotte has some solid pieces in the front court with Brandon Miller, Mark Williams, and Miles Bridges, they desperately need some help in the backcourt. Team had a deadline today on guaranteeing Curry’s contract for the 2024-2025 season.”</p><p>As Wojnarowski notes, this doesn’t necessarily mean that Curry won’t return to the Hornets. Three players dominated the conversation — James Wiseman, LaMelo Ball, and Anthony Edwards — but ultimately, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/carmelo-anthony-reveals-how-timberwolves-anthony-edwards-can-fulfill-lofty-michael-jordan-comparisons">Minnesota ended up taking Edwards.</a> And while that has proven to be an incredibly wise decision, Charlotte Hornets guard Seth Curry believes that <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/hornets-news-lamelo-ball-sets-new-basketball-record-but-in-another-continent">Ball, his teammate, could produce</a> similar results as Edwards if given the same opportunity.</p><p>While the Timberwolves went to work assembling a formidable team around Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns, another first-overall pick, by trading for veterans like Rudy Gobert and Mike Conley Jr., transforming their team into a legitimate championship contender, the Hornets have largely wallowed in mediocrity since Ball’s arrival in Charlotte.</p><p>The Hornets have not reached the NBA Playoffs since 2015, five years before Ball was drafted, and although Charlotte came relatively close in 2022, the Hornets have been less than inspiring with Ball as their point guard. That’s not to completely blame Ball, though, as he was named Rookie of the Year over Edwards in 2021 and became an All-Star in 2022, a year before Edwards earned his first All-Star Game selection.</p><p>And while the last two seasons have been marred by injuries, Seth Curry said on Austin Rivers’ podcast ‘Off Guard’ that Ball can <a href="https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/seth-curry-on-finals-mvp-summer-of-the-celtics/id1711438444?i=1000659446039" rel="noopener">still produce similarly</a> to Edwards, who led his team to the Western Conference Finals this year, and compared him to Devin Booker before Chris Paul was acquired by Phoenix in 2020.</p><p>“[If you] put the right team around LaMelo, he can be the best player on a great team,” Curry said.</p><p>“I’m agreeing with you,” Rivers replied. “I’m not saying it’s a LaMelo thing, I’m just saying for whatever reason it’s been, injuries, personnel, we have not seen the jump that Anthony Edwards has. They both came in the same year.”</p><p>Curry understandably continued to campaign for Ball, saying that if Charlotte had added the right complementary pieces around Ball and Ball had been able to stay healthy, he could win.</p><p>“He ain’t that far off,” Curry said of Ball. “It’s health and personnel. The now former Cardinal star was taken <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/meet-cameron-brink-the-sparks-no-2-pick-2024-wnba-draft">second overall</a> in the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/stanford-womens-basketball-news-cameron-brink-declares-2024-wnba-draft-after-pac-12-title-loss-juju-watkins-usc">2024 WNBA Draft Monday night</a> —  just after the Indiana Fever unsurprisingly used their No. 1 pick to get Iowa Hawkeyes superstar Caitlin Clark.</p><p>During the draft, Brink also shared a story about having a conversation with the Currys, particularly Golden State Warriors star point guard Stephen Curry, Charlotte Hornets guard Seth Curry, and the Currys’ mother, Sonya, who is also Brink’s godmother.  Brink said that the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player had some good words and advice imparted to her. Unlike Stephen, though, Seth did not seem too interested in giving words of encouragement based on Brink’s hilarious and heartwarming story at the same time.</p><p>“Right before I came here, I face-timed Steph [Curry] with Sonya, my godmother, and my mom, Brink said. “He said all these encouraging words, laughing with me. Her excellent rebounding and fantastic rim protection are what she’s expected to deliver the most for Los Angeles, which finished the 2023 WNBA season just 11th in the league in both rebounds per game (31.5 ) and blocks per contest (2.9). Los Angeles, which has not been to the WNBA Playoffs since 2020, managed to come up with just a 17-23 record, which was good for only ninth overall in the league.</p><p>The Sparks can count on Brink to provide them with those once she gets into a rhythm in the pros. After all, Brink was named the 2024 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year in her final year in college. Moreover, the 6-4 Brink is a three-time Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year. Her defensive acumen and general feel for the game on both ends of the floor should translate well into the WNBA.</p><p>Offensively, Brink can also be relied upon by the Sparks. In her final season with Stanford, Brink averaged 17.4 points on 51.1 percent shooting from the field. She has limited range, having shot just 30.4 percent from behind the arc last season, but she’s deadly inside the 3-point line. It’s significant in the sense that his father Dell Curry spent a big part of his own NBA career playing for the Hornets. During NBA All-Star Weekend, Seth’s brother, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, <a href="https://twitter.com/HornetsReddit/status/1758954670679007395" rel="noopener">gave his thoughts</a> on Seth’s debut with the Hornets.</p><p>“It was a surprise cause I didn’t know Seth was on the trading block or whatnot up until probably two days before,” Curry said. “But the fact that he had his homecoming going back to Charlotte, the first game that they played they wore their retro, the old school pinstripe Hornets jersey which my pops wore. . .it’s cool to see the Curry 30 alive back in Charlotte. We still got a lot of family there, my dad obviously doing the color commentating for games, it’s a family affair for sure.”</p><p>While Dell Curry began his NBA career with the Utah Jazz, he played ten years for the Hornets, the longest stint of his career. There are old pictures of Stephen Curry as a kid at his dad’s games and now Seth Curry gets to carry on the family legacy with the franchise.</p><p>In three games since the trade, Seth has come off the bench in a little over 18 minutes per game. He’s averaged 10.0 points per game, 1.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists with splits of 54.5 percent shooting from the field, 33.3 percent shooting from the three-point line and 100 percent shooting from the free-throw line.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
