The Lakers’ big man is one of the best and most versatile defenders in the NBA. So when you add a defensive-minded player like <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/lakers-news-when-dorian-finney-smith-shake-milton-make-la-debuts">Shake Milton, the way the Lakers did via trade with the Brooklyn Nets</a>, that opens up a ton of possibilities on that end of the court.</p><p>Following the Lakers’ 122-110 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday, Shake Milton spoke why he’s excited about playing alongside Anthony Davis and what the defense can look like.</p><p>“Selfishly, having someone like AD down there, it makes you feel like you could take more chances. You can be a little bit more aggressive, you can be a little bit more physical,” Milton said. “Knowing that if you get beat, you never want to get blown by, but if that were to happen, you got somebody like him at the rim to protect and help you out. So from that aspect, I’m super excited about that. Just to be able to kind of continue what I’ve been doing and make an impact.”</p><p>The Lakers actually brought Milton in for a workout ahead of the 2018 NBA Draft, where he actually talked about the <a href="https://nbaanalysis.net/what-shake-milton-said-about-working-out-for-la-lakers-in-2018-shows-hes-exactly-what-the-team-needs/" rel="noopener">defensive energy he could bring</a> if the team drafted him, as per Dan Coombs of NBA Analysis. Milton was ultimately selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the No. 54 overall pick in 2018.</p><p>Seven seasons later, he now gets the opportunity to make that defensive impact he spoke about.</p><h2><b>Shake Milton’s role with Lakers</b></h2><p>While Dorian Finney-Smith was the main piece for the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nets-news-dangelo-russell-breaks-silence-return-brooklyn-after-lakers-trade">Lakers in the trade that sent D’Angelo Russell to the Nets</a>, Milton has been given the opportunity to also prove his worth.</p><p>With <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/lakers-news-gabe-vincent-worrisome-injury-update-cavs-clash">Gabe Vincent currently sidelined due to an oblique injury</a>, Milton is next in line in terms of the Lakers’ backup point guard. He made his Lakers’ debut on Dec. 31 against the Cavs, and he finished with six points and two rebounds while shooting 50 percent (2-0f-4) from three-point range in ten minutes of play.</p><p>But while consistent three-point shooting is something Milton brings, it’s the defensive end of the court where he really sees himself standing out.</p><p>“One thing I was doing a lot in Brooklyn, they kind of forced us to, we were picking up 94 feet, I think I definitely want to do that,” Milton said. “It just helps me kind of get in the flow and it gets your competitive juices flowing. So I definitely want to try to add that to the repertoire. And hopefully I could bring some type of extra energy to this team, I think that would be really big. I can make an impact in that area.”</p><p>In 27 games with the Nets this season, Milton was averaging 7.4 points, 1.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists with splits of 46.5 percent shooting from the field, 38.9 percent shooting from the three-point line and 75.8 percent shooting from the free-throw line. But what Lakers fans are now waiting to find out is when they’ll see their new players in action, and it sounds like it’ll be <a href="https://x.com/mcten/status/1873832179383623868?s=46&amp;t=vnLDgTn4yNZudl1UzUUjJA" rel="noopener">sooner than later</a>, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.</p><p>“JJ Redick says the hope for the Lakers is to have Dorian Finney-Smith and Shake Milton in the lineup Tuesday vs. CLE. Redick says he will keep the same starting lineup, however,” McMenamin wrote on X, formerly Twitter.</p><p>When Finney-Smith and Milton do play, Lakers fans will be excited about what they are able to bring to the team. Finney-Smith has been known as a 3-and-D player throughout his career, and Milton is one of the better perimeter shooters in the league. They should be able to fit in seamlessly with the Lakers’ current roster, and it’ll be interesting to see what their roles look like as the season progresses and they get acclimated.</p><h2>Lakers acquire much-needed depth in Nets trade</h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Dorian-Finney-Smith_e078ee.jpg"><figcaption>Wendell Cruz-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>The Lakers had been in trade rumors for a while, and they were able to get something done to help improve their team as the season progresses. They now have much-needed wing depth, and Finney-Smith is a solid defender that they could use. A day before the trade, there were rumors that the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nets-news-why-brooklyn-rejected-grizzlies-dorian-finney-smith-offer-featuring-first-rounder">Memphis Grizzlies were close to acquiring Finney-Smith</a>, but the first-round pick that they were offering was heavily protected and didn’t have a real chance of conveying.</p><p>Instead, the Nets decided to make a deal with the Lakers, and in return, they got Russell and Lewis. For the past two seasons, Russell had been up-and-down with the Lakers, but when Redick was hired, it felt like things might get better. Instead, Russell ended up getting moved to the bench as the backup point guard, and he wasn’t as effective as he used to be.</p><p>Russell now goes back to the Nets, where he once played and helped get to the playoffs, but this time around, it looks like they’re in the rebuilding phase. He can help the team since they don’t have a point guard after trading Dennis Schroder, or they may look to buy him out so he can go to a contending team. By the end of the season, we’ll see if this was either a win-win for both teams or if one organization ended up getting luckier than the other.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

Guard gives immediate help to an injury-riddled roster.”</p><h2><b>Shake Milton to return to the Atlantic Division with the Knicks</b></h2><p>Milton, who played his first several seasons in the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers,  is on the waivers following a recent agreement with the Detroit Pistons to have his contract bought out, putting him on track to be a free agent. The <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/knicks-ongoing-struggles-bad-news-randle-anunoby-out-another-week" rel="noopener">Knicks are banged up</a> and could use another healthy body to help them gain some consistency. New York is still among the top teams in the Eastern Conference with a 35-25 record entering Saturday but has lost seven of their last 10 games. At the moment, they are 12.5 games out of first place.</p><p>Milton started the 2023-24 NBA season with the Minnesota Timberwolves, who signed him to a two-year $10 million contract back in July but was traded before the February trade deadline to the Detroit Pistons along with Troy Brown Jr. and a 2030 second-rounder for guard Monte Morris. O’Neale, who is averaging 9.0 points and 6.1 rebounds in Phoenix, will factor into the team’s playoff rotation. The Suns also acquired Thaddeus Young, who is 35 years old but is left-handed and a good hustle player.</p><p>Milton was selected with the No. 54 pick in the second round of the 2018 draft by the Dallas Mavericks.</p><p>The Suns’ point-guard situation is fluid. Phoenix is starting Devin Booker, who is averaging 7.0 assists, at the position. Guard Bradley Beal <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/suns-news-is-bradley-beal-playing-vs-rockets-latest-injury-update" rel="noopener">is also a ball-handler</a> in Phoenix’s offense.</p><p>Milton’s best NBA season came in 2020-21, when he averaged 13.0 points in 60 games for the Philadelphia 76ers and Joel Embiid. Milton’s best year came in a year in which the NBA season was abbreviated due to COVID, but he impacted the team.</p><p>Milton has since struggled to perform at the same level. In 2022-23, he played a large amount (20.6 minutes in 76 games played) and averaged a career-best 3.2 assists. He averaged 8.4 rebounds but in 2023-24 with the Wolves, who have the best record in the West, struggled to have the same impact on a team with Mike Conley as the starting point guard.</p><p>The Suns may also sign two-way guard and local Tempe Corona Del Sol alum Saben Lee to their final spot. Lee has been a rotation player of late, playing 23 combined minutes in the Suns’ last four games.</p><p>Phoenix is 35-24, which is good for fifth in the West. But at the NBA Trade Deadline, the Wolves traded Shake Milton to the Detroit Pistons, a team that is in the running for the worst team in the league.</p><p>The deadline for players to hit the buyout market and still be eligible to play in the playoffs was Friday, March 1. The Pistons and Shake Milton were able to <a href="https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1763751939022475733" rel="noopener">agree on a contract buyout</a>, allowing him to potentially join a contending team for the final stretch of the regular season as per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.</p><p>Milton was the No. 54 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. He played five seasons for the Sixers before hitting free agency in the offseason and signing with the Wolves. He was shipped to the Pistons at the deadline in the deal that brought Monte Morris to the Wolves.</p><p>Milton appeared in only four games for the Pistons and during that stretch he was playing a little less than 16 minutes per game. He had been averaging 6.8 points per game, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists with splits of 42.3 percent shooting from the field, 33.3 percent shooting from the three point line and 66.7 percent shooting from the free throw line.</p><p>Prior to that, Milton had appeared in 38 games for the Wolves, all off the bench in a little less than 13 minutes per game. His shooting numbers were way down from his averages with the Sixers and he didn’t really make much of an impact.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

After all, Harden is now in a position to completely change the outlook of the Sixers this coming season if he <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba-rumors-james-harden-returning-to-sixers-gets-optimistic-update" rel="noopener">decides to jump ship</a> and leave Philly after just a year and a half with the team.</p><p>Apart from Harden, however, there are a few other personnel decisions that the Sixers will be faced with once NBA free agency opens. One of them comes in the form of backup shooting guard Shake Milton, who apparently, is now headed to greener pastures. According to NBA insider Kyle Neubeck of the Philly Voice, the 26-year-old is expected to leave Philadelphia this summer:</p><p>“Milton is the least likely of those players to return next season, sources say, as the veteran guard <a href="https://www.phillyvoice.com/nba-draft-trade-rumors-sixers-76ers-second-round-pick-prospects-news-analysis-latest/" rel="noopener">looks for a potential opportunity</a> for more minutes,” wrote Neubeck.</p><p>Paul Reed, Jalen McDaniels, and Georges Niang are the three other Sixers players that are headed to free agency. Neubeck reports, however, that it’s Milton who is most likely to part ways with the Sixers.</p><p>This could all change, though, if James Harden opts out of his player option for 2023-24 and decides to join another team. The former MVP’s departure will open up a lot of playing time for Milton, which could convince him to stay.</p><p>If you ask Sixers fans, however, the harsh reality for Shake Milton is that they would much rather keep Harden in Philly over him.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

The Sixers have won their last four games and Maxey has looked more and more comfortable coming off the bench.</p><p>One of the biggest helpers Maxey has in his new role is Shake Milton. The steady guard is used to coming off the bench and has provided Maxey with both a secondary scorer to lean on and a veteran presence. After a <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/instant-breakdown-of-sixers-vs-trail-blazers-joel-embiid-james-harden" rel="noopener">win over the Portland Trail Blazers,</a> both guards gave lots of praise to each other.</p><p>Maxey and Milton have known each other for years, dating back to Milton’s time at SMU. While he was making a name for himself at the collegiate level, Maxey was a high schooler whose dad was on the coaching staff. He spent some time around the team at practice and Milton did what he could to help a younger Maxey. “Because he was older than me, he would always take me under his wing. He would talk to me, he would tell me what I saw in the pick and roll, tell me what he saw in the game,” he said.</p><p>Maxey joked last year that the school’s name should be <a href="https://twitter.com/NoahLevick/status/1499946696045961216?s=20&amp;t=bkHfKGpKFuHYdUcM2X2LWg" rel="noopener">Shake Milton University</a>. He explained that Milton does a great job of preparing himself no matter what the situation calls for. “We do have totally different games. He’s a little bit slower and I’m a little bit running around fast,” he said. “It’s great, I’m just extremely proud of him. He’s doing his thing right now. He’s been big this whole road trip and even before that, he stayed ready…You just gotta really appreciate a guy like that.”</p><p>Milton said that seeing Maxey work hard influences him. “I think our mindsets are similar,” he said. “We always push each other too, that’s one of the things I appreciate most about him. The Sixers stumbled out of the gate before all their best players got injured at the same time. Despite the impending sense of doom after a <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/sixers-october-player-grades-highlighted-james-harden-tyrese-maxey" rel="noopener">rocky first month</a> and injuries to each of their stars, they have weathered the storm and are showing some real signs of progress. As they enter December with a 12-10 record, let’s dish out grades for each of the key Sixers players and head coach Doc Rivers.</p><h2><b>Joel Embiid: A</b></h2><p>Embiid’s dismal start to the season is well in the past now. He was incomprehensibly dominant before injuring his foot, his defense remains elite (when he wants it to be) and his playmaking is really starting to show with six consecutive games with six assists. Turnovers remain a problem he has to tighten up and he isn’t always fully engaged on defense, which leaves the team vulnerable in those instances.</p><p>Despite all his flaws, Embiid is still one of the best players in the league and a two-way force when he’s at his best.</p><h2><b>James Harden: A</b></h2><p>Harden’s grade remains unchanged from his October grade after playing just one game in November. Fortunately, he will be <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/sixers-news-james-hardens-target-return-date-revealed" rel="noopener">back in action soon</a> for the Sixers, whose offense has soured in the time he has missed.</p><h2><b>Tyrese Maxey: B+</b></h2><p>Maxey had one of the best grades on the team after the first calendar month of the season, but it has taken a bit of a hit after struggling in the post-Harden games. He struggled to score efficiently in most of those games and unfortunately suffered a foot injury in perhaps his best game since Harden went down, dropping 24 points on 75 percent shooting in 20 minutes against a great Milwaukee Bucks defense.</p><p>The start of Maxey’s season is still very promising. His scoring was lethal playing alongside Harden and picked up some of the playmaking slack. His defense is still not great, but his offense has taken the step that many were hoping it would.</p><h2><b>Tobias Harris: A-</b></h2><p>Last month, Harris got a good grade by changing his game and becoming a great catch-and-shoot threat. N0w, his grade is a little bit higher because he has had to revert back to his old ways in the wake of numerous injuries. The Sixers have asked a lot from him, and he has responded very well.</p><p>Highlighted by a <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/sixers-news-tobias-harris-sounds-off-on-playing-through-injury-scare-powering-shocking-win-vs-nets" rel="noopener">gutsy performance in a win over the Brooklyn Nets</a>, Harris was huge for the Sixers with their star trio out. His scoring was key, as was his defense. He showed that he can be a great floor spacer with everyone healthy and will have to start going back to that as the team’s health starts improving.</p><h2><b>P.J. Tucker: C+</b></h2><p>Sixers fans have been getting more and more impatient with Tucker after an eight-game stretch in which he scored only three points. That stretch, plus the Cleveland Cavaliers’ plan to intentionally leave him alone, show how clear it is that Tucker needs a playmaker like Harden to be a valuable offensive presence.</p><p>Tucker’s defense is another story. His versatility and intensity have made him crucial on that end of the floor and are the key reasons Doc Rivers <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/sixers-news-doc-rivers-mvp-in-win-vs-giannis-antetokounmpo-bucks-and-it-isnt-joel-embiid" rel="noopener">continues to sing his praises</a>. To get his grade up, he has to show he can still be a reliable scorer when the team needs him to be.</p><h2><b>Shake Milton: A+</b></h2><p>What a run Milton is having as the holiday season nears. Just when the Sixers need offense the most, Milton has gotten out of an early-season funk and has been — no joke — putting up <a href="https://twitter.com/TheHoopCentral/status/1597417523796115456?s=20&amp;t=KdlXexxOZtLz8cIrw8e4pQ" rel="noopener">All-Star-like numbers</a> since joining the starting lineup.</p><p>Milton didn’t do much at the beginning of the season but <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/shake-milton-must-remain-in-sixers-rotation-after-james-harden-tyrese-maxey-return" rel="noopener">played a pivotal role</a> when the Sixers’ starting backcourt went down. His effectiveness with Harden and Maxey back remains to be seen, but his recent play has demanded that he remains in the rotation.</p><h2><b>De’Anthony Melton: B+</b></h2><p>Mr. Do Something continues to do something each and every game. A jack-of-all-trades at the guard spot, Melton also had to lean more into scoring when the starting backcourt went down. He did just that while remaining a high-level defender.</p><p>Melton shot just 36.1 percent from the floor in November thanks in large part to some ghastly shooting nights to start the month. Still, his shot selection is mostly good, and he makes up for his misses by being <a href="https://twitter.com/BySamDiGiovanni/status/1598395913369964544?s=20&amp;t=a03ZgQgatYb6RMauIvIxfQ" rel="noopener">one of the most disruptive defenders</a> in the league.</p><h2><b>Georges Niang: B+</b></h2><p>Niang’s scoring off the bench has been very beneficial for the Sixers. He has been one of the best 3-point shooters in the league this season, boasting a <a href="https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask?q=nba+3pt%25+leaders" rel="noopener">highly impressive volume and efficiency</a>. Not only that, but he has a good sense of driving into the paint when the triple isn’t there and does a solid job contesting shots and moving his feet on defense.</p><h2><b>Paul Reed: B+</b></h2><p>Paul Reed has been <a href="https://twitter.com/ginamizell/status/1595226690057281537?s=20&amp;t=4A8Tyj5SWf2ufPDDMVOQkA" rel="noopener">“Bballing”</a> quite well off the Sixers’ bench. His play can sometimes be erratic, but that energy has mostly been helpful. His mobility, strength and quickness make him a quality anchor for the bench defense, and he has some untapped value on offense as a passer. While his scoring is best when he’s simply finishing inside, he is developing patience in the post and a nice shooting touch.</p><h2><b>Danuel House Jr.: C+</b></h2><p>House can also be a bit of a wild card at times, but he has been mostly fine off the bench for the Sixers. His 3-point shooting and defense have been decent, and he has been a timely off-ball cutter several times. While step-back triples aren’t really what the Sixers need of him, he should find himself back in a role where he exclusively catches and shoots soon.</p><h2><b>Montrezl Harrell: C-</b></h2><p>Harrell brings the intensity every night, but he has yet to consistently provide the strong interior scoring that he is known for. His field goal percentage on shots within three feet of the hoop is the <a href="https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/PHI/2023.html#shooting::16" rel="noopener">third-worst on the roster</a>, and he hasn’t made up for it in any other area.</p><h2><b>Matisse Thybulle: C+</b></h2><p>Thybulle’s defense remains as good as ever, which earns him spot minutes, but his scoring efficiency remains woeful, even for his standards. It’s hard to say if he’s even in a shooting slump because he doesn’t shoot enough. He hasn’t shown that he should get more freedom to shoot, though.</p><h2><b>Furkan Korkmaz: B-</b></h2><p>Korkmaz’s ball handling has been important to have off the bench since the main ball handlers got injured. He has provided that while bouncing back from a rough 3-point shooting season, but not much else, especially on defense. The Sixers aren’t leaning on him for much — and for good reason — but he’s still good for the <a href="https://twitter.com/TrillBroDude/status/1597045434807357440?s=20&amp;t=sU7Ga6Uyo4d-JOJvNYDa_g" rel="noopener">occasional highlight</a>.</p><h2><b>Doc Rivers: B</b></h2><p>You know the saying by now: Rivers does his best coaching when his team doesn’t have stars/big expectations. Well, that fact of life has held true as when Sixers stars battled injuries. Philly posted its best record of the season as Harden and Maxey continue to recover.</p><p>With Rivers starting to lean more into Reed as the main backup big man, getting more going on offense with off-ball movement and helping unlock Embiid’s playmaking, he has done a fine job. He has also used zone defense way more, but the results are mixed. The savvy adjustments haven’t been there, though that was to be expected.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

Shake Milton has answered that call with some of the best basketball he has played. The Sixers’ record and overall offensive production as of late shouldn’t overshadow what he has provided.</p><p>Milton has been huge for the Sixers while the members of the staring backcourt and Joel Embiid all deal with foot injuries. In a win against the Orlando Magic, he notched his first career double-double with 24 points, a career-best 10 assists and nine rebounds. Since joining the starting lineup over the last four games, he is averaging 22.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game while shooting 56.9 percent from the floor and 52.6 percent from deep. He obviously won’t keep that up whenever he moves back to the bench but he should still get a solid amount of playing time.</p><p>De’Anthony Melton and Tobias Harris have also been key in the last few games but Milton is the guy who is consistently making plays <a href="https://twitter.com/SixersNationCP/status/1595606480962584578?s=20&amp;t=x27bKwBWEpT8mtk_-V1Krg">throughout the course of the game</a> and leading the way. He may not have a signature game where he <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/sixers-news-shake-milton-reaches-new-milestones-in-breakout-game-vs-clippers">explodes for a big scoring night</a> but the steady presence he provides has had a huge impact on the undermanned Sixers.</p><p>The Sixers’ bench has had immense trouble scoring at numerous points throughout the season. Keeping Milton in the rotation is one surefire way to give Philly more shot-creators. He can provide serious value as a secondary ball handler alongside either Maxey or Harden while the other rests.</p><p>Although injuries to key players were certainly not part of the Sixers plans, Shake Milton’s stupendous play has been a huge silver lining. After rolling his ankle in practice, the 25-year-old finally was able to make his season debut for the Sixers.</p><p>Despite being sidelined for close to two weeks, Milton did not miss a beat in his return against the Pistons. In 16 minutes of action, he scored 13 points and dished five assists. Some rust had to be shaken off, but Milton quickly looked like the player we are accustomed to seeing and proved that he will be another weapon for Philly this season.</p><p>This return was a key topic during postgame media availability, as Sixers players and coaches gave their thoughts on having Milton back in the lineup. First up was head coach Doc Rivers. “He was great. I thought he was rusty early on, but overall he was fantastic,” he said.</p><p>Later on, Tyrese Maxey touched on how happy he was to see his teammate back in action. “It’s great to have Shake-and-bake back. He does what he does. Gets hot extremely quick and did really well today. It was great to see him,” said Maxey postgame.</p><p>Milton himself was the final player to speak <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/sports/nba/philadelphia-76ers/schedule">following Thursday’s win</a> and wasted little time given his thoughts on how he felt making his return. Along with stating his previously injured ankle feels good, he also spoke on how good it felt for him to finally take the court in the regular season.</p><p>“It definitely felt good. After a while of sitting out, it gets kind of hard, sitting there watching the team. Of course, you’re cheering them on, but you also want to be out there and helping them win. It felt good to be out there tonight,” Milton said.</p><p>Having Milton is a huge pick me up for Rivers and the Sixers. For starters, it adds another ballhandler to the mix. Before his injury, there was a chance Milton was going to be inserted in the starting lineup with Ben Simmons still not partaking in games. Even if he continues to come off the bench, it gives the group another capable ballhandler to run the offense at times.</p><p>His return also takes a ton of pressure off Maxey’s shoulders. Between Simmons’ absence and Milton being injured, a lot had to be asked from the second-year guard out of Kentucky. Not only was he running the show for the starting lineup, but the second unit at times as well. With Milton back, it will take some weight off him and allow him to comfortably slide into his new role.</p><p>The strong play of the Sixers’ second unit has been an early takeaway this season, and now is only going to get better. In the following game, a win over the San Antonio Spurs, Milton bounced back by putting up a stellar performance. Embiid shared that Milton had some choice words for him before the game.</p><p>In their 127-121 loss to the Pacers on Saturday, TJ Warren dropped 53 points. Milton, who defended him most of the night, got some heat from Embiid as he allowed Warren to drop <a href="https://twitter.com/ClutchPointsApp/status/1289709248843141120?s=20">19 points in the first quarter alone.</a></p><p>According to Embiid, Milton took their screaming match personally. After all, chemistry issues have hounded them all season long. That screaming argument alone reveals how tarnished their camaraderie can be at times.</p><p>Perhaps this is the main reason why many experts claim that <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/sixers-news-philly-still-trying-to-get-josh-richardson-involved-in-games/">the team is under-performing</a>. They have a great trio in Tobias Harris, Ben Simmons, and Joel Embiid which is backed up by a decent crop of role players. Yet the 76ers remain a mid tier team in the eyes of these analysts.</p><p>Over the last two seasons, the 76ers have made it all the way to the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Following their disappointing 127-121 loss to the Pacers, the Sixers All-Star center downplayed the shouting match they had.</p><blockquote>“It’s basketball. Everybody makes mistakes. It happens. We got to come in and get better. But it’s nothing, it happens everywhere. We discussed what’s going on and you move on, you find a solution. But it’s nothing. It happens. It happens on every team you just figure it out and you move on,” Embiid said, per <a href="https://twitter.com/rich_hofmann/status/1289746335109746688" rel="noopener noreferrer">Rich Hofmann of The Athletic</a>.</blockquote><p>Embiid probably didn’t like the way Milton passed him the ball on the final possession of the first quarter, which almost caused a turnover for the Sixers. The Cameroonian made sure to let the 6-foot-5 guard know about it when they headed to the bench.</p><p>It seems like Milton didn’t like the way Embiid relayed the criticism. However, this is probably just another day in the office for professionals.</p><p>Certainly, there’s a lot more incidents like these that go on behind the scenes during practices and film room sessions. Disagreements can happen among teammates and in-game spats can’t be avoided in the heat of the moment.</p><p>The Sixers, however, have bigger problems than this seemingly normal disagreement between Embiid and Milton. Philadelphia dropped to sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings following the loss to the Pacers.</p><p>Embiid had an outstanding night with 41 points, 21 rebounds, and three blocks on the evening. Milton, meanwhile, went scoreless in his 19 minutes on the floor.
