However, it sounds like the Miami Heat star is cleared after the results of the investigation were finally brought to light.</p><p>During a guest appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Shams Charania of ESPN claimed that Rozier <a href="https://x.com/CPBetting/status/1939800747866300785" rel="noopener">has been cleared</a> of any wrongdoing in the betting scandal. The 31-year-old point guard can carry on and focus on his playing career in the league.</p><p>“Terry Rozier, as of right now, has been cleared. He finished the season with Miami. There’s really nothing active, as of right now, with him. The league claimed that it saw no violations made; however, the situation is still under federal investigation. So, Rozier is not technically in the clear yet. But it appears all signs are pointing toward him being innocent.</p><p>Rozier played 65 games for the Heat last season. It was one of the least productive years of his career, though, as Miami had a crowded backcourt that saw Terry Rozier lose some playing time. Despite that, he still averaged over 25 minutes a game while averaging 10.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per contest while owning a 39.1% field goal percentage and going 29.5% from three-point range.</p><p>The 2025-26 campaign will be the final season of Rozier’s four-year contract worth over $96 million. He gives the Heat a cap hit of over $26 million. Considering his role and age, there is a possibility that <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/miami-heat/heat-trade-proposal-demar-derozan-offseason-kings">Terry Rozier becomes a trade candidate</a> in Miami. Rozier finished the game with 12 points on three for 14 shooting from the field, only making one of his eight attempts from deep, and didn’t make any of his eight shooting attempts in the entire second half.</p><p>When asked before Friday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves about the thought process of playing Rozier when he was struggling heavily in the second half, Spoelstra downplayed the decision, saying he doesn’t <a href="https://x.com/ZachWeinberger/status/1898155450035581368" rel="noopener">“want Terry to be a target right now.”</a></p><p>“I don’t want Terry to be a target right now, that’s easy,” Spoelstra said. “I mean, this is the thing, when we’re playing all these tight games and really close, competitive games, and this is what I remind the locker room, we have to stay so laser focused into the process and not just the result. Everybody just watches the end result. Any one of these games, if we finish it off and a lot of this narrative, a lot of the dialogue, it just quiets on its own. And that’s the lesson. Rozier began the season in the starting lineup and had a few good outings before getting on a shooting slump and eventually relegated to the bench.</p><p>It got to the point where Spoelstra benched Rozier for two straight games until he was put back into rotation, especially recently <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/miami-heat/heat-news-erik-spoelstras-fun-silver-lining-for-miami-as-injury-woes-return">with the Heat’s injuries piling up.</a> Spoelstra would speak more on how Rozier was “instrumental” in the team coming back against Cleveland.</p><p>“The thing the other night, and this is what’s happened several times and it is tough and I’m not going to go into all of it, there’s not enough time, but we’re on a 16-5 run. It’s easy for anybody to say, ‘Make a change right then.’ That’s really not what you’re thinking of making a change, they call a time out, we’re up seven. It’s easy to say afterwards when it’s a result-based deal, ‘Well, he should have made a change.'”</p><p>“Then Davion was at the table at five, and then the game just kept on going. With <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/miami-heat/exclusive-heats-terry-rozier-shares-encouraging-outlook-amid-season-struggles">Heat star Terry Rozier amidst a disappointing season</a>, he didn’t log a single minute for the team Monday.</p><p>Monday night continued a dreadful stretch for Miami as the offense couldn’t find any momentum as they shot 32.1 percent from the field and only made seven three-pointers out of 40 attempts.</p><p>Many fans have pinpointed Rozier’s season-long slump as being a reason for the shortcomings, but after the loss, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra would home in on the fact that not playing the veteran is part of <a href="https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/nba/miami-heat/article300014779.html" rel="noopener">“searching”</a> for answers, according to The Miami Herald.</p><p>“It’s just one of those things right now,” Spoelstra said. “We’re searching. It’s not an indictment on anybody necessarily. I feel for the guys that haven’t been able to play — Jaime the couple games before this and Terry. It’s not anyone’s fault. We’re all in this together. But we do need to find something. But we do have to recognize when there are tangible improvements, and we are seeing some of those. We have to work for our breakthrough.”</p><p>So far this season, Rozier has been averaging 12.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game while shooting 40.4 percent from the field and 30.6 percent from three-point range.</p><h2><b>Heat’s Erik Spoelstra does see aspects to ‘build on’</b></h2><p>However, there are many flaws with the team that go beyond Rozier as the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/miami-heat/heat-news-erik-spoelstra-has-defiant-take-after-blowing-another-double-digit-lead-in-loss-to-bucks">Heat have suffered late-game collapses</a> where they build up double-digit leads, all for it to be erased by the end. Still, Spoelstra believes they can “build on” their “collective spirit” that has been shown.</p><p>“A lot of these games, some of the games were before the trade. Some of the games guys were out,” Spoelstra said. “So it doesn’t really matter. It’s just about doing what’s necessary to get a win.</p><p>“It’s hard to win in this league. I appreciate that. I really appreciate that this season. You have to fight and have a desperate collective energy that’s consistent all the way through, and there has to be a collective spirit, which our group has.”</p><p>“That’s the part I think we can build on. There’s a spirit in our locker room,” Spoelstra continued. “That usually indicates that things are going to start going in your direction.</p><p>“It doesn’t guarantee anything because it still is decided in between those four lines. But there are some intangibles in this locker room. Guys care about each other. They want to play well for each other. To get back on track, the break was “well-needed” and calls this time of the year “exciting.”</p><p>“Well needed, well needed,” Rozier said. “I ain’t got to see these guys’ face for a couple days. Wake up, get the time I need. But you know, I’m happy to be back and get another crack at it, make this last push. So, you know, this is an exciting time of the year for me. While <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/heat-news-terry-rozier-remains-confident-amid-early-season-struggles-foot-injury">Rozier acknowledges the frustration</a> he’s had with Miami in terms of his performance, he still believes he can be a “big help” in terms of getting this team to the postseason with 29 games left.</p><p>“I mean, that’s just what you trying to get out,” Rozier said of becoming his best self. “Teah, I know I could always be better. You could always be better. And obviously, the season wasn’t going like I how like, but you know, it’s not over. You can still make this push, and I know I can. I can be a big help with that.”</p><h2><b>Heat’s Terry Rozier envisions he’ll “appreciate the struggle”</b></h2><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/miami-heat/heat-news-miami-pulls-off-terry-rozier-kyle-lowry-trade-hornets">Rozier was traded to the Heat</a> before the trade deadline last season where it was in exchange for Kyle Lowry and a first-round pick to the Charlotte Hornets. At one point, Rozier was considered to be the piece for Miami that could take them over the hump alongside Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Tyler Herro.</p><p>Even the starting backcourt duo of Herro and Rozier was showing flashes last year especially to start the current season, but that has since faded away. Add on the disappointment with <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/heat-news-terry-rozier-breaks-silence-after-federal-betting-investigation">Rozier in a federal investigation connected to sports betting</a>, though the <a href="https://x.com/jareddiamond/status/1885018058202239471" rel="noopener">NBA found no wrong-doing</a>, it’s another hurdle for the 30-year-old star to jump over, though he mentioned he can “appreciate the struggle.”</p><p>“I think it’s just going to make when everything settles in and have a successful season, I think I can appreciate the struggle even more,” Rozier said. “So it’s part of it, not I’m not even worried about it. I move on from it.
