During Media Day, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/spurs-victor-wembanyama-shifts-learning-expectations-to-winning-entering-2024-25-season">Wembanyama spoke about those expectations</a> and how he plans to go about them.</p><p>“These expectations, I just manage them like I have for years. I just focus on my actual responsibilities because I don’t have any responsibility to any of you,” Wembanyama said. “I just focus on the guys in the locker room, that’s it.”</p><p>The Spurs finished the season 22-60 last year, and there will definitely be more expectations on them to win this season. Adding veterans like Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes will help, and if Wembanyama takes the next step, they could see themselves around the eighth through tenth seed.</p><p>“As always, my emphasis is going to be on winning and making my teammates better as much as I can,” Wembanyama said.</p><p>It may take another year for the Spurs to really make some noise in the Western Conference, especially if you factor in what the state of the conference looks like now. The Spurs are still quite young despite adding Paul and Barnes, head coach Gregg Popovich will probably be trying to develop the younger talent on the team at the same time.</p><p>It will be interesting to see where the Spurs finish at the end of the year, and what Wembanyama will look like as he gets more experience in the league.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

Jimmy Butler is entering a contract year, and is now on the wrong side of 30 with a sizable injury history. He missed the first round of the playoffs last season, where the Celtics routed them 4-1.</p><p>While Scary Terry also missed that series because of injury, it remains unclear if he would have made a difference if the talent difference between the two teams was too much.</p><p>Bam Adebayo is a Defensive Player of the Year candidate, but he probably needs more help than Butler, Herro, and Rozier can provide. They most likely will lean harder on second-year player Jaime Jaquez, Jr. and expedite the development of promising rookie Kel’el Ware.</p><h2><b>Roster needs</b></h2><p>The Heat’s relative lack of difference-making players might spell the difference between playoff success and disappointment, and SVG agreed.</p><p>“They didn’t have a great team, and they didn’t have a great year. That’s not a very good roster. To me, that’s a play-in roster again,” the coach said.</p><p>No one knows what will happen next season, but the Heat’s title window may have closed. However, the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/heat-news-tyler-herro-dealt-concerning-injury-update-before-miami-preseason-opener-vs-hornets">Heat are dealing with injuries to Tyler Herro and Jaime Jaquez Jr.</a> where they missed the scrimmage last Monday and preseason opener as there is positive updates that have come out of Friday’s practice.</p><p>Both Herro and Jaquez both took part in practice in limited fashion Friday which could set them up to participate in Sunday’s home preseason opener against the New Orleans Pelicans. Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra spoke to the media Friday and said <a href="https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/nba/miami-heat/article293843914.html" rel="noopener">the added days of rest due to the previous events missed</a> and the postponement of a game due to Hurricane Milton have benefitted the recovery of the two young stars according to Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald.</p><p>“The extra days helped,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said of Herro and Jaquez after Friday’s practice. “But they’ve been working quite a bit behind the scenes. He emphasized that health and internal growth will be crucial to their success.</p><h2><b>Tyler Herro believes the Miami Heat are still title contenders</b></h2><p>When questioned about whether the Heat should still be <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/matissa/2024/08/19/how-tyler-herro-is-preparing-for-the-2024-25-nba-season/" rel="noopener">considered a top title contender</a> for the upcoming season, the Heat sharpshooter responded, “I don’t see why not. We have everything we need.”</p><p>The Heat’s 2023-24 season was plagued by injuries, especially to <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/heat-news-nba-insider-reveals-jimmy-butler-reason-hyping-heat">All-Star Jimmy Butler</a>, who was sidelined for the entire first-round playoff series against the Boston Celtics.</p><p>Without Butler, the Heat faced difficulties and were knocked out in five games.</p><p>Despite this, Herro is confident that with a fully healthy roster, the Heat can make a strong push in the Eastern Conference and contend for the NBA championship.</p><p>“Bam Adebayo and I are young guys who are starting to become full-fledged veterans in this league. Terry Rozier is healthy now and ready to compete. Then you have Jimmy Butler, who is extra motivated after not being able to play in the playoffs last season.”</p><h2><b>Leveraging Heat culture</b></h2><p>The Heat’s core of Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Herro, and Terry Rozier has the capability to pose a significant threat to any defense. Nonetheless, Herro emphasized that maintaining health is crucial. Last season, this core played in approximately 71 percent of their available games, participating in 234 out of 328 games.</p><p>Herro also highlighted that although many Eastern Conference teams have made external upgrades, the Heat’s emphasis on internal development might be equally impactful.</p><p>“I’m really excited for this season. Obviously, there are a lot of teams in the East that think they have externally improved. But I think we’ve improved internally. However, a new report from Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer could debunk every bit of speculation surrounding the Heat ever moving on from the 24-year old guard.</p><p>In the Yahoo Sports piece, it <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/olympics-news-team-usas-bam-adebayo-reveals-what-really-matters-playing-behind-joel-embiid-anthony-davis">would say that the Heat are</a> not looking to trade Herro anytime soon as he continues to be one of the cornerstones of the franchise ever since was drafted with the 13th overall pick in 2019. He was healthy enough to suit up for the postseason, but with Butler out due to an MCL sprain he suffered in the team’s Play-In Tournament game against the Philadelphia 76ers, Herro was forced to shoulder a bigger load on offense for Miami.</p><p>Against a high-flying Celtics team, Herro unsurprisingly struggled, and many fans weren’t too happy with him. While liking a post on social media only means so much, it’s pretty telling that Herro liked this specific post. He implies that if he and White swapped roles, the Celtics star two-way guard would struggle just as much as him with Butler not giving it his all before turning things up a notch in the postseason.</p><p>While the White slander is interesting, perhaps the most concerning part for Heat fans is that Herro is taking aim at Butler with this like. Butler has been known to take his game to another level in the postseason, but during the regular season, Herro seems to believe that he’s just mailing it in. If that’s how he really feels, there could be some serious issues for the Heat to fix this offseason.</p><p>Of course, the main point of this tweet is to illustrate the difference in situations for Herro and White. Herro was forced to do a lot of the heavy lifting on his own with Butler on the sidelines in the playoffs. White, meanwhile, had the benefit of playing on the deepest team in the league, which has helped him take his play to new heights seemingly every time he takes the court.</p><p>There’s no doubt that the Heat have to improve their roster this offseason, but it’s fair to wonder if their relationship with Herro is damaged beyond the point of repair. Heading into the offseason, Miami will have to <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/1-player-heat-must-trade-in-2024-nba-offseason">consider some trades</a> if they intend on improving their roster, including when it comes to deals involving Tyler Herro.</p><p>Herro has emerged as a quality starter for the Heat, and while he’s a skilled offensive player, he isn’t a good defender. He has also struggled to remain on the court over the past couple of seasons, as he missed pretty much all of Miami’s run to the Finals in 2023 and only appeared in 42 games over the course of the previous regular season campaign.</p><p>Heat president Pat Riley called out the 24-year-old after their season ended, saying, “He’s been fragile a little bit. What did he play, 40 games? He might have to go to another level nutritionally. With that in mind, let’s look into the best trades involving Herro that the Heat must consider making in order to improve their roster.</p><h2><b>Hawks acquire: Tyler Herro, 2029 lottery-protected first-round pick</b></h2><h2><b>Heat acquire: Dejounte Murray</b></h2><p>While Dejounte Murray isn’t necessarily a huge upgrade over Herro, he is a much better fit for the Heat. Murray is stronger on the defensive end of the floor than Herro is, and he is far more consistent when it comes to his availability on a nightly basis.</p><p>Murray appeared in 78 games this past season for the Atlanta Hawks, averaging 22.5 points, 6.4 assists, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game. He shot 45.9 percent from the field and 36.3 percent from three. Mitchell could be on his way off the Cleveland Cavaliers after they too were eliminated from the playoffs by the Boston Celtics, with their second-round series having concluded in five games on Wednesday night.</p><p>Mitchell is entering the final year of his current deal, and that may lead him to request a trade this offseason. This deal would give Miami an elite scorer alongside their star duo of Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. Mitchell averaged 26.6 points, 6.1 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game this season. He shot 46.2 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from three.</p><p>Mitchell’s offensive skill set would give Miami the scoring punch they have been lacking over the past few seasons, and his addition would instantly make the Heat a top title contender next year.</p><h2><b>Suns acquire: Tyler Herro, Nikola Jovic, Duncan Robinson, 2029 first-round pick, 2031 first-round pick</b></h2><h2><b>Heat acquire: Kevin Durant</b></h2><p>Another trade that the Heat could make in an effort to enter the championship conversation would be acquiring Kevin Durant from the Phoenix. Durant is unlikely to be moved by the Suns considering how they only recently picked him up, but if he ends up requesting a trade, which could happen, as unreasonable as it sounds, the Heat should pounce on him</p><p>Durant is 35 years old, but he is still one of the best players in the game, and his scoring capabilities have yet to truly decline. Durant averaged 27.1 points along with 6.6 rebounds, five assists, and 1.2 blocks per game this season. He shot 52.3 percent from the floor and 41.3 percent from downtown.</p><p>Miami could use a major scorer like Durant to rival the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference. While he’s obviously a gifted player on the offensive end of the floor, Herro’s defensive struggles don’t really fit Miami’s identity, and the fact that he continues to struggle to stay on the court doesn’t exactly help his case either.</p><p>It’s not exactly wrong for Riley to say Herro is fragile, but it’s jarring to see him come out and say that to the media. After all, Herro could end up sticking around with the team past this offseason, so what is this sort of comment going to do for his confidence? Maybe it will spur him to focus on his conditioning and health more over the next few months, but it also could have a negative impact on him too.</p><p>Herro’s numbers this past season were virtually the same as they have been over the past two years (20.8 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 4.5 APG, 44.1 FG%), but he took a massive step back in the playoffs against Boston (16.8 PPG, 5.4 APG, 3.6 RPG, 38.5 FG%). Admittedly, Herro had to shoulder a bigger load on offense with Jimmy Butler missing the series, but he was brutal on both offense and defense, with the Celtics constantly attacking him on both sides of the ball.</p><p>Herro is set to enter only the second year of his four-year, $120 million deal with the Heat, but that’s not an absurdly high amount of money that would prevent the team from moving him in a trade. However, we saw Miami fail in their efforts to trade Herro last offseason for a bigger-name star player, and his value is going to be at an all-time low based on how he finished the season in the playoffs.</p><p>If anything, Riley is clearly getting fed up with Herro and his health problems, and it could ultimately lead to the two sides parting ways over the offseason. It’s more likely that he will stick in Miami, but tensions are rising in South Beach, and even if he does stay in town, Herro’s time with the Heat could be coming to an end sooner than initially expected.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

For a while now, the Heat has run with the core of Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler, and Tyler Herro. While the trio managed to climb their way to the NBA Finals on two occasions, they never finished the job.</p><p>Having that in mind, the Heat aren’t to blame if they decide to explore other options moving into the next season. Despite being the youngest among the three top players in Miami, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/heat-news-bam-adebayo-vocal-how-celtics-shut-down-tyler-herro">Herro is also the least efficient</a>. With that said, it wouldn’t be surprising if the team suddenly decided to trade him.</p><p>Here are a few landing spots for Herro if the Heat feels the need to let him go.</p><h2><b>San Antonio Spurs take Tyler Herro</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Vict-Wembanyama-dribbling.jpg"><figcaption>Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports</figcaption></figure><p>The San Antonio Spurs hit the jackpot when they landed one of the greatest rookies of all time in Victor Wembanyama. The towering Frenchman proved that he could soon dominate the league. However, while Wemby is undeniably a force to be reckoned with, basketball is still a team sport. San Antonio struggled all season long due to their lack of a solid support system.</p><p>That’s where Herro comes into the picture. The Spurs currently lack an efficient point guard who can feed Wembanyama inside. Looking at some of San Antonio’s <a href="https://youtu.be/feiS4Uw0U1I?si=baS6jvHVURtShhK5" rel="noopener">hilarious lowlights</a>, some of those clips feature Wemby’s teammates not passing him the ball despite having a good look.</p><p>Herro isn’t necessarily known to be a playmaker, however, he does have the ability to do so. For instance, the Heat guard dished 14 assists in Game 2 of the first-round matchup against the Boston Celtics in this year’s playoffs. It’s a clear indication that Tyler has eyes that could easily spot his teammates with good looks at the rim.</p><p>Aside from his passing, Herro can also drill important baskets for his team. While Wembanyama is the star of the show, he’ll still need some assistance on offense if teams manage to shut him down.</p><p>Lastly, with San Antonio running a younger lineup, Tyler fits that bill only being 24 years old. The team would be able to maximize the duo of Herro and Wemby for a longer period, given things work out for them.</p><h2><b>Toronto Raptors take Tyler Herro</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/RJ_Barrett_throws_it_down.jpg"><figcaption>John E. Sokolowski-USA TODAY Sports</figcaption></figure><p>The Toronto Raptors are currently in rebuild mode. After getting rid of Pascal Siakam, Toronto is now being run by the young core of RJ Barrett, Scottie Barnes, and Immanuel Quickley. While the positions that Herro plays seem taken at the moment, the Raptors could decide not to re-sign Quickley and opt to trade for Tyler instead.</p><p>Herro is a young player with a lot of potential. The Heat guard went through a plethora of trials in the playoffs and even put his abilities to the test in a couple of NBA Finals series. Bringing all that experience to a young Raptors squad could benefit both parties. While Tyler shares his knowledge gained from many heated postseason battles, he also gets the opportunity to shine brighter as the team’s go-to guy.</p><p>Without a doubt, Barrett is currently the star of the show. One of the many interesting talking points that was brought up was the role of Heat star Tyler Herro and where he fits on the team.</p><p>On the show “NBA Today,” he was asked by former player and current basketball analyst Kendrick Perkins if <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/heat-news-bam-adebayo-gets-brutally-honest-on-lessons-learned-from-ugly-playoff-series-vs-celtics">Haslem sees players like Herro and teammate Bam Adebayo taking</a> that big leap next season. He would confidently say that Adebayo would as well as Hero, but as a <a href="https://twitter.com/HeatvsHaters/status/1786141744645406813" rel="noopener">“sixth man.”</a></p><p>“Moving into the future, in today’s NBA, you can still be sixth man, you can still get all your money, still get All Star in today’s NBA, you can still do all that in today’s NBA,” Haslem said. “Tyler’s role for us, and the best role for him, is to probably be a sixth man.”</p><figure class="op-interactive"><blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p dir="ltr" lang="en">“For Tyler, his role, he’s great as a sixth man. However, he has been a mainstay in the starting lineup the past few seasons since he has developed as a basketball player.</p><p>On the other hand, the conversations of Herro being the sixth man again came back up this season among fans as ways to unlock the University of Kentucky’s best. For Haslem, he said that <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba-rumors-heats-jimmy-butler-seeking-113-million-contract-extension">for the Heat’s best “chemistry</a>,” it involves Duncan Robinson in the starting lineup and Herro on the bench.</p><p>“That’s taking nothing away from what Tyler does as a basketball player. But for our chemistry, we are better when we got Duncan Robinson in the starting lineup, making plays, being that trigger for us and spraying and creating for other guys,” Haslem said. “Tyler can come off in that second group, doesn’t have to worry about getting other guys involved. He can just play basketball, score and be who he is.”</p><p>Hearing this from Haslem speaks volumes as not only is his voice well respected in the franchise, he also has been a teammate to Herro for a long time, and has a front office role with Miami. While those talks are present, there was no room for him to be on the bench as of recent, as he was needed in the starting lineup this postseason.</p><h2><b>Adebayo and Herro talk about how Celtics held down the Heat guard</b></h2><p>With the injuries to Jimmy Butler and Terry Rozier, Herro was called upon alongside Adebayo to be the main engines for the team. While Adebayo had a solid series, it was a frustrating one for <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/heat-news-bam-adebayo-vocal-how-celtics-shut-down-tyler-herro">Herro as besides an exceptional</a> Game 2, the Celtics held him down for the most part as the big-man talks about what their rivals did to him.</p><p>“They definitely got him out of his rhythm,” Adebayo said. “Sending him different coverages, pressing him full court. They just took him out of his rhythm.”</p><p>This past season, Herro has averaged 20.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game while shooting 44.1 percent from the field. Herro himself spoke after the game and talked about how he looks upon the series and what it will unlock to make him a better player.</p><p>“I obviously haven’t looked back on the whole series, it just ended, but feel like I’m going to be able to take away a lot from how they guarded me throughout the whole series,” Herro said. “The face guards, double teams, switches, really crowding the paint when I did get in the paint and then really making it tough on me at all times, not allowing me to kind of see one go through to catch a rhythm. But, at the end of the day, it’ll make me better. So I’m excited to get in the work this offseason.”</p><h2><b>Haslem on the Heat’s dire needs</b></h2><p>After being eliminated in the playoffs, a year prior to making the NBA Finals as an eighth seed, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/heat-news-erik-spoelstra-shoots-down-excuse-with-classy-reaction-to-debacle-vs-celtics">Haslem was asked where the Heat</a> need help for next season. He would say another scorer, while mentioning if Rozier was healthy that he fills in that role, and a veteran big-man so that <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/heat-news-erik-spoelstra-feels-in-his-heart-that-miami-has-an-offensive-resurgence-for-game-5-vs-celtics">Adebayo can</a> move to the power forward spot.</p><p>“Definitely need another scorer. If [Terry Rozier] was healthy, we could see him filling that role. With [Rozier] not being healthy, we don’t really know. If ‘he’s healthy, then he fills that role. Without T-Ro, we didn’t really have that.”</p><p>“I think we need another scorer and maybe another veteran guy, a big, a big fellow who can go down there and help Bam,” Haslem continued. “I think Bam can play four [power forward] and move around a little bit. If we get a center, maybe in the draft or through free agency, then we can move Bam to the 4. He can guard all five positions but he would have even more of a matchup at the 4 position where we can post him up and do different things with him. Go for a center and possibly another scoring guard.”</p><h2><b>Haslem on what needs to happen this off-season for Miami</b></h2><p>He was also asked about Butler and if he can continue to be the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/heat-news-bam-adebayo-erik-spoelstra-vocal-on-1-major-motivation-to-win-game-5-vs-celtics">No. 1 option on the Heat like he has</a> been for the past five seasons. Haslem would respond first with a question insinuating that it’s much more complex than him being the No. 1.</p><p>“Who says he has to continue to be the No. 1 option?” Haslem said. “As guys get a little bit older, they move to the side and they let the young guys take over. Jimmy is still a great player. Jimmy can still take over the game.</p><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/heat-news-terry-rozier-jaime-jaquez-jr-ruled-out-for-must-win-game-5-vs-celtics">The Heat had a frustrating season</a> filled with a bunch of injuries, especially at the worst time being in the postseason. Haslem said before anything else, Miami has to “get healthy” and also talked about the motivation of Pat Riley amidst a disappointing finish.</p><p>“To the hospital first to get healthy,” Haslem said. “We’ve got to get in the lab. If I know anything about Riles [Pat Riley], his job is to put the team in the best position to win a championship. We all understand we don’t have that right now.”</p><p>“He damn sure ain’t going nowhere after that loss last night,” Haslem continued. “I’ll tell you that. If I know him, he was up until 4 or 5 a.m. trying to figure out how this goes. This man literally told me when I got in there, ‘hey, there’s two things, there’s winning and there’s misery. There’s no in between.’ He’s miserable right now; he’s trying to figure out a way to win…Right now we’re all miserable. We can’t live like this. As was the case for much of the series, Tyler Herro struggled mightily on both ends of the floor, leading to a relatively eye-opening admission from his fellow star teammate Bam Adebayo.</p><p>With guys like Jimmy Butler and Terry Rozier missing this entire series, the Heat had their work cut out for them, with Herro and Adebayo being tasked with shouldering the load on offense. While Adebayo held up his end of the bargain, it was a different story for Herro aside from his dominant Game 2 performance. And when asked to reflect on Herro’s struggles, Adebayo quickly explained what the Celtics were able to do to get Herro <a href="https://nesn.com/2024/05/bam-adebayo-admits-celtics-took-this-heat-star-out-of-rhythm/" rel="noopener">off his game</a> throughout the series.</p><p>“They definitely got him out of his rhythm. Sending him different coverages, pressing him full court. They just took him out of his rhythm.” – Bam Adebayo, NESN</p><h2><b>Tyler Herro reflects on his struggles against the Celtics</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Tyler-Herro-and-Payton-Pritchard.jpg"><figcaption>Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports</figcaption></figure><p>Herro is used to playing in an offense where there are other scorers who can take attention off of him, but he didn’t have that luxury in this series. While the Celtics were largely content to allow Adebayo to take his mid-range jumpers, they constantly were blitzing Herro when he was on the ball with different defensive looks, and it clearly had a big impact on him.</p><p>It was a unique challenge for the talented young guard that he likely would rather have not had to face in the playoffs, but that’s just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. Herro admitted that the Celtics did a good job throwing different looks at him to disrupt his rhythm, but he also believes that he can use his woes in this series to help him improve as a player moving forward.</p><p>“I obviously haven’t looked back on the whole series, it just ended, but feel like I’m going to be able to take away a lot from how they guarded me throughout the whole series. The face guards, double teams, switches, really crowding the paint when I did get in the paint and then really making it tough on me at all times, not allowing me to kind of see one go through to catch a rhythm.” – Tyler Herro, NESN</p><p>There’s no doubt that this series looks different if the Heat were healthy, but they got bit by the injury bug at the worst time, and they ultimately didn’t have enough to overcome a loaded Celtics team. Herro’s stock certainly isn’t trending upwards after this ugly showing, so now it will be up to him to put in the work over the offseason and prove that he can bounce back from this rough series.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

A key aspect that can result in their success is if Heat star Tyler Herro leads them on the scoring and play-making front, which was limited Saturday night.</p><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/heat-news-bam-adebayo-reveals-major-flaw-that-doomed-miami-from-the-start-in-game-3-loss-to-celtics">Herro has had an up and down</a> series up until this point where he was held in check in Game 1, but excelled in Game 2 where he scored 24 points and recorded 14 assists. He came back down to earth in Game 3 where the Celtics brought a ton of intensity on the defensive end and as said by Herro after the game, they here “holding” on to him and his jersey, but understands “it’s competition.”</p><p>“They’re doing a lot of different things off the ball, just holding me, holding my jersey, doing a bunch of stuff,” Herro said. “But at the end of day, it’s competition. It’s going to make me better, it’s going to make the team better. I’m here for it. I’m excited to be here. Let’s go. We were moving too fast and not taking our time. However, he was only held to two assists Saturday night as the University of Kentucky product explained what the Celtics did on that front that got them uncomfortable.</p><p>“I mean, they’re still protecting the paint it felt like. They did a couple of different adjustments,” Herro said. “When Jrue [Holiday] wasn’t guarding me, just randomly coming over and picking up the ball, make the ball get out of my hands, but we have a bunch of guys on this team that can continue to hurt them from from three or driving. It feel like we need to watch the film where we can figure out a way to generate those three-point looks with the defense that they’re playing.”</p><p>On the season overall, Herro has been averaging 20.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game while shooting 44.1 percent from the field. He has been used as the main offensive creator for the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/heat-news-jimmy-butler-tired-hearing-celtics-praise">Heat due to the injuries</a> of not only their best player in Jimmy Butler, but also Terry Rozier who is set to miss his 10th straight game Monday.</p><h2><b>Spoelstra assesses how the Celtics maintained Herro and the Heat </b></h2><p>As said before, he excelled in that role in Game 2 as he was great in every aspect, but his streakiness came back and hurt Miami, despite Herro not being the only reason why they lost the game. Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra spoke about how the Celtics stopped Herro in his tracks and hindered his play-making opportunities.</p><p>“They stayed at home a little bit more on the shooters but it also depends like if we execute executed with a little bit more intention, if it ever loosened up, we won’t know that answer necessarily,” Spoelstra said. “Once they started bullying us and biting us and getting us out of any kind of trigger or action that there was, it was easy to flatten this out at that point. Nobody was open. We were left the end of possession with just going one on one or dribbling through against all their size.”</p><p>If there has been a constant trend throughout this series, victories have gone to the teams with the better start and Game 3 proved that once again. In Game 1, the Celtics started on a 14-0 run and never looked back, then <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/heat-news-how-terry-rozier-is-impacting-miami-vs-celtics-despite-injury">Game 2 saw the Heat catch fire from</a> three-point range draining eight leading to 23 in the whole game which is a playoff record.</p><h2><b>Herro says the way Miami have started games have “hurt” them</b></h2><p>This time around, Miami had a frustrating large amount of missed opportunities to make this game close or even take the lead but they would either miss an open look or commit five turnovers leading to 10 Celtics points in the first quarter. It sets the tone for the rest of the outing as Herro said to ClutchPoints that the way Miami begins <a href="https://twitter.com/ZachWeinberger/status/1784392651728453838" rel="noopener">“have definitely hurt us.”</a></p><p>“Our starts have definitely hurt us,” Herro said. “I thought in the first game, it obviously started with the offensive rebound and set the tone and then tonight you know there was a couple of different times the balls in the air or on the floor and we didn’t at least put the right effort to come up with those.”</p><p>“Obviously they crashed the glasses harder, they sent four guys,” Herro continued. “You know when when a team like that sees that they have a a weakness of not boxing out they’re gonna continue to do that and that kind of sets the tone for the rest of the game. He joined ClutchPoints in 2023.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">NBA</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>On Wednesday evening, Tyler Herro and the Miami Heat picked up (at least by Vegas odds metrics) the most improbable playoff win of the last several NBA seasons with a road victory in Game 2 vs the Boston Celtics, the number one seed in the Eastern Conference and the entire NBA for that matter. Herro was excellent in the game, registering 14 assists to go along with some efficient scoring, leading a <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/heat-news-miami-aiming-for-unpredictable-offensive-approach-before-game-3-vs-celtics">Heat offensive attack</a> that saw the team register a franchise playoff record of 23 three-pointers on well over 50 percent shooting from beyond the arc.</p><p>Over the course of his career, Herro <a href="https://twitter.com/wcgoldberg/status/1783925037965201451" rel="noopener">has become known</a> as somewhat of a “microwave” scorer who can get hot in a hurry, but hasn’t necessarily garnered a reputation as much of a playmaker or a facilitator for his teammates. However, due to the injury Jimmy Butler sustained during the team’s Play-In loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, Herro has had to slide into that role in order to initiate offense for a Heat team that doesn’t have a lot of playmaking at their disposal.</p><p>Recently, Herro broke down the shift in his mentality that allowed him to pick apart the Boston defense in Wednesday’s Heat victory.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
