According to Wealthy Gorilla, Zach Lavine’s net worth in 2021 is around $3 million.
Yes, it seems small compared to the other young stars, but his game and explosiveness are nowhere near small.
The 6’5 guard won the 2013 AP Washington Player of the Year and was named Washington Mr. Basketball in the same year before committing to play college ball for UCLA.
Despite his struggles in his lone playing year at UCLA, Lavine was named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman team. He then declared for the 2014 NBA Draft, forgoing his final three years of eligibility.
The Minnesota Timberwolves selected Zach Lavine with the 13th overall pick of the 2014 NBA Draft. His rookie contract with the Timberwolves was worth $9.6 million for four years.
Lavine played point guard for the majority of his rookie season, backing up Ricky Rubio and Mo Williams.
Zach Lavine’s rookie season was highlighted by his electrifying performance in the 2015 NBA All-Star Weekend. He won the Slam Dunk Contest, becoming the youngest champion since the late, great Kobe Bryant.
Lavine continued to improve year by year, and he also won the Slam Dunk Contest during the 2016 NBA All-Star weekend — making him the 4th player in NBA history to win consecutive Slam Dunk Contests.
Unfortunately, Zach Lavine suffered a torn ACL in his left knee that sidelined him for the rest of the 2016-2017 NBA season.
He was then traded in the 2017 offseason to the Chicago Bulls for Jimmy Butler, among other trade pieces.
In the 2018 offseason, restricted free agent Zach Lavine received an offer sheet from the Sacramento Kings worth $80 million for four years. The Bulls decided to match the offer sheet, keeping Lavine in Chicago for the next four years.
Lavine continued to cement himself as the top offensive option for the Bulls as he increased his point per game average year after year.
In the 2020-2021 NBA season, Lavine averaged career-highs of 27.4 points, 4.9 assists, and 5 rebounds a game. He was also named as a first time NBA All-Star for the 2021 NBA All-Star Game.
After his career year, Lavine was selected to be part of Team USA for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Lavine played a solid role for the red, white, and blue as he averaged 10.6 points en route to winning a gold medal.
Lavine will now enter the final year of his contract, and it is expected that the high-flying guard will receive a lot of big-time offers once he becomes an unrestricted free agent in the 2022 NBA offseason.
As of this writing, Spotrac estimates Zach Lavine’s career earnings to be $88,428,548. A pretty big sum for an otherwise small net worth.
Along with his NBA salary, Lavine also has a sneaker deal with Adidas since 2017.
But, prior to signing with the three stripes, Lavine was usually sporting Nike sneakers.
Zach Lavine’s endorsement deal with Adidas in 2017 was for four years and was estimated to be around $35 million.
"I was looking for a partner that would grow with me as my career continues to unfold," LaVine said to ESPN. "Adidas convinced me that I have a chance to legitimately become a face of the brand."
Lavine will be a sneaker free agent at the end of the 2021-2022 NBA season if there isn’t a new deal in place between the mega shoe brand and the high-flying Chicago Bulls star.
Zach is also no stranger to charitable efforts. After winning the 2016 Slam Dunk Contest, he made a charitable contribution of $10,000 to the Metro Deaf School in St. Paul, Minnesota.
And when he moved to Chicago, Lavine partnered with Jewel-Osco to help give thanksgiving meals to the underdeserved, he also took local kids to a Jumanji screening and gave them Adidas and Bulls gear afterwards.
Lavine also usually partners with After School Matters for various charitable acts.
Zach’s benevolence can be traced back to his family.
“We didn’t always have the most money to have the best Christmases or to give back,” Lavine says in his interview with Haute Living. “From a young age, I would always notice people coming up to [my dad] asking him for a $100 here, a $100 there. He always gave it, even when he didn’t have to. For seven years, my mom [CJ] worked two jobs, seven days a week, just to put food on the table and allow me to play AAU [Amateur Athletic Union basketball].”
The 26-year-old now has a strong Chicago Bulls team with the addition of Lonzo Ball, DeMar DeRozan, and Alex Caruso. They will surely be fighting for the playoffs, and quite possibly a chance to play in the NBA Finals.
All we can do now is watch everything unfold for the high-flying star.
