Now they are searching for answers with a 3-3 record on their bye week. One former NFL player used a recent trade as an example for <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/cowboys-news-jerry-jones-coaching-change-trade-deadline-rumors-firm-stance">critiquing Jerry Jones as a general manager</a>.</p><p>Former NFL WR Andrew Hawkins used the Bills <a href="https://youtu.be/574nDR9oxkQ?t=307" rel="noopener">trading for Amari Cooper as an example</a> of Jones’ ineptitude on The Get Up.</p><p>“Amari Cooper just got traded to the Buffalo Bills. For what, a third-round pick. The Dallas Cowboys traded him away three years ago for a fifth-round pick after acquiring him for a first-round pick,” Hawkins said. “Think about that, he is three years older, he is on a team that’s not winning and they still got more compensation in the middle of a season than the Dallas Cowboys did three years ago when he was at his height in an off season where every receiver who got traded, they got first-round picks. That is bad general managing period.”</p><p>Hawkins does raise some excellent points with his critiques of Jerry Jones.</p><p>There are a few examples that highlight his point about other top wide receivers being traded for more than a fifth-round pick. AJ Brown, Tyreek Hill, and Davante Adams (from Packers to Raiders) all come to mind as players traded for significant draft picks in return. All of these trades also featured a high cap hit or the understanding of a huge contract extension for the player following the trade.</p><p>Jones is notably the only owner in the NFL who is also the GM. It was an idiot that did that. So idiot things can turn into good decisions,” Jones said on the air. “Smart things can turn into bad decisions. The facts are when you make one, you don’t really know if it’s going to be good or not at the time. You want some conversation this morning, you’re getting it.”</p><p>Jones also reacted harshly when asked why he didn’t make more offseason moves to improve the roster.</p><p>“This is not your job. Your job isn’t to let me go over all the reasons that I did something and I’m sorry that I did it. That’s not your job,” Jones added. “I’ll get somebody else to ask these questions. I’m not kidding. You’re not going to figure it out what the team is doing right or wrong. The Dolphins’ potential climb up the standings just got even more arduous.</p><p>Off the heels of another frustrating loss, the New York Jets finally pulled the trigger and <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/jets-news-aaron-rodgers-breaks-silence-davante-adams-trade">reunited Adams with quarterback Aaron Rodgers</a>. He can be a coveted target for star quarterback Josh Allen, who had been lacking a true No. 1 receiver to trust in big moments. Cooper might be the boost the team needs to compete with the best the AFC has to offer.</p><p>While the Jets try to save their season and the Bills try to lengthen theirs, the Dolphins (2-3) are stuck in a tricky spot. Fans do not know when Tua Tagovailoa will be back under center and are putting much of their faith in the superbly talented Tyreek Hill. Neither Tyler Huntley nor Skylar Thompson are able to effectively move the chains, causing the production of Hill and Jaylen Waddle to plummet to frightening levels.</p><p>Hill surely wants to reassert himself as the premier pass-catcher in the league, let alone the AFC East, but it is difficult to fathom a surge while the Phins are in this current state. However, the schedule might present both him and the team with a get-right opportunity.</p><p>Following the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/dolphins-news-tyreek-hill-instant-post-ugly-win-patriots">Dolphins’ ugly win</a> over the New England Patriots in Week 5, which Hill seemed to overemphasize, they face the beatable Indianapolis Colts (3-3) and inconsistent Arizona Cardinals (2-4) in the next two games. They have YAC specialists who shined without Stefon Diggs, a run game that worked, at least in Week 6, without James Cook, and a defense that, though imperfect, should keep them in games.</p><p>But how will it all work? Will Cooper immediately come in and become Josh Allen’s WR1, pushing Khalil Shakir back into a WR2 role while allowing Keon Coleman to develop on a more gradual trajectory? Or will they instead work Cooper in slowly, allowing him to get used to the offense before making any major changes to the game plan moving forward?</p><p>Discussing this very development with reporters shortly after the deal became official, Sean McDermott explained what he likes about the addition of Cooper and how his team <a href="https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/sean-mcdermott-on-amari-cooper-well-get-him-up-to-speed-and-see-how-he-fits-in" rel="noopener">plans to incorporate him into the offense moving forward</a>.</p><p>“I think that remains to be seen [how much Cooper can help], right? He obviously was on a different team up until a couple of hours ago. We want to get him in here and get him up to speed on our terminology and our system and see how he fits in. Like I said, it’s never about one guy. It’s about the team and in this case the offense,” McDermott told reporters via NBC Sports.</p><p>“On paper, it’s one thing. At the end of the day, can the person play and help us? That’s really what we’re here to see over the next couple of days. I would hope the answer to all of that is yes. Going up against Amari and having a ton of respect for him and his game, but again, we have players in the building that we are already confident in, and he’ll fit into that equation and we’ll get him integrated and excited to see how quickly he can get up to speed here. Again, one player doesn’t save a team. One player doesn’t make a team. It’s about the team.”</p><p>Interesting stuff, right? While McDermott didn’t want to explicitly lay out expectations for the former Cowboy’s new role, he was willing to admit that Cooper brings something new to the table and, as a result, could assist the offense in becoming more complex attack moving forward.</p><p>“Everyone in that room before Amari was here had a slightly different skill set,” McDermott said. “So, now it’s truly and how it’s going to fit into the room and how our system can use Amari’s strengths to make our system better.”</p><p>With Cooper now locked in, the Bills easily have one of the best offenses in the AFC, with a chance to outgun darn near every team in the NFL, period, if Allen is playing up to his standards. Cooper led the team in receiving yards and touchdowns, leaving behind a gaping hole in the offense.</p><p>With Cooper now in Buffalo, the team figures to struggle even more to find the end zone. Following his departure, the <a href="https://x.com/Jake_Trotter/status/1846256395689021445" rel="noopener">only player on the team with multiple touchdowns</a> in 2024 is backup safety Rodney McLeod Jr., according to ESPN’s Jake Trotter.</p><p>Cooper is responsible for two of DeShaun Watson’s five touchdown passes on the year with Jordan Akins, Jerry Jeudy and Blake Whiteheart each grabbing one. On the ground, Watson has one rushing touchdown with running back Jerome Ford also reaching paydirt once. No other player has found the end zone for the team.</p><p>McLeod does not have an interception on the year and has scored both of his touchdowns off a “scoop-and-score.” The defensive back scored the only touchdown of the game for the Browns in Week 6 off a blocked field goal two weeks after returning a Zamir White fumble for a score in Week 4 against the Raiders.</p><h2>Browns’ new offense without Amari Cooper</h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/DeShaun-Watson-1.jpg"><figcaption>Eric Hartline-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>In the aftermath of the trade that sent Cooper to Buffalo, the Browns did not receive any immediate assets in return. Instead, Cleveland received a 2025 third-round pick and a 2026 seventh-round pick.</p><p>Without Cooper, Jeudy immediately becomes Watson’s new de facto No. 1 receiver. The former first-round pick was acquired by the team in the offseason and is currently second behind Cooper in targets, receptions and receiving yards through six games.</p><p>To replace his role in the starting lineup, the team lists second-year wideout Cedric Tillman as Cooper’s immediate replacement opposite of Jeudy with Elijah Moore in the slot. However, the Browns will likely hit free agency with fifth-round rookie Jamari Thrash as the only backup receiver on the roster with David Bell on injured reserve. Moore also suffered a rib injury in Week 6 and is currently questionable for Week 7.</p><p>While the team lacks depth at receiver, they are expecting to bolster their backfield with the return of Nick Chubb targeted for Week 7. Chubb has not played since tearing his ACL, MCL and PCL in Week 2 of the 2023 season. With the move, the Bills secure a No. 1 target for Josh Allen after they lost Stefon Diggs this offseason, and the Browns begin the process of waving the white flag on this season.</p><p>The Bills also <a href="https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/1846254794819748226" rel="noopener">received a 2025 sixth-round pick</a> from the Browns in the deal, and Cleveland got a 2025 third-round pick and a 2026 seventh-rounder. This move follows another rocky performance for the Bills offense where their pass catchers struggled to generate consistent separation in a 23-20 win over the New York Jets on Monday night. The Browns are in the midst of a season that is getting away from them quickly after another deflating loss to fall to 1-5.</p><p>The Cooper trade is the second massive wide receiver domino to fall on Tuesday after the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/grading-jets-raiders-davante-adams-trade">Jets acquired Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders</a>.</p><h2><b>Bills add No. 1 receiver to bolster passing game</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Josh-Allen_4b454e.jpg"><figcaption>Ed Mulholland-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>It can’t be overstated how big this deal is for the Bills. Cooper may not be at the level of the best of the best wideouts in the NFL, but he’s still an elite route runner who can make plays at all three levels of the field. He gives the Bills offense a separator who can beat man coverage, which is something that they were desperately missing.</p><p>In Buffalo’s two losses this season, its opponents challenged their receivers to win on the outside, and they couldn’t do it. Josh Allen and the offense struggled mightily against man coverage against the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens, but that becomes much tougher to do now with Cooper in the fold.</p><p>We’ve seen in the past what Allen can do when he has a go-to guy on the outside. The loss of Stefon Diggs, for all of the issues that he and the Bills had by the end of their pairing, has been felt, and he took Allen to a different level in the passing game. Cooper has a chance to have the same effect. <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/browns-news-amari-cooper-addresses-swirling-trade-rumors">Cooper must be excited to get to Buffalo</a> as well, moving away from the dismal and inept passing game in Cleveland. He has had some drops, but 24 catches for 250 yards and two touchdowns in six games is not nearly enough production for his skill level.</p><p>Cooper’s <a href="https://x.com/TomPelissero/status/1846256288478445967" rel="noopener">contract is another bonus</a> on top of this deal for the Bills. The Browns converted most of Cooper’s salary this year to a signing bonus before the season started, which means that the Bills now owe Cooper less than $1 million for the rest of this season.</p><p>There is the risk of this being a rental for the Bills, as Cooper’s contract is up at the end of this season. If that ends up being the case, then the draft compensation is steep for just 11 games plus the playoffs. However, if everything works out as it should, Cooper should sign an extension with the Bills, and he fills their biggest weakness at the start of this season.</p><p><b>Bills grade: A</b></p><h2>Browns make necessary move in the middle of lost season</h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Watson.jpg"><figcaption>Peter Casey-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>The Amari Cooper trade is an official signal of something that just about everyone watching the Browns this season already knew. This season is over. Cleveland is 1-5, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/browns-news-deshaun-watson-stat-so-bad-think-its-fake">Deshaun Watson is the worst starting quarterback in the NFL</a> right now, and he can’t be benched because of his massive contract. By all indications, the Browns are ready to ride the Watson train all the way to the end of the tracks in 11 weeks when the train crashes and everyone loses their job.</p><p>While it is a complete surrender on this season, the move to get off of Cooper is a sound one by the front office. There was no indication that Cooper wanted to be in Cleveland past this season, so moving his expiring contract for a day two draft pick is good business. However, it’s little consolation for the depths of despair that they are staring down moving forward.</p><p>In the short term, head coach Kevin Stefanski and Watson will try to work with Jerry Jeudy and Elijah Moore as their top wideouts with David Njoku in line for more targets at tight end.</p><p>The Browns won’t have very many avenues of acquiring talent outside of the NFL Draft in the coming seasons <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/browns-news-nfl-insider-reveals-way-out-of-deshaun-watson">due to Watson’s contract</a>, so any picks that they can scoop up are helpful. With the latest trade, Amari Cooper has received this message three times in his NFL career. On Tuesday, the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/bills-news-buffalo-amari-cooper-browns-blockbuster-trade">Cleveland Browns traded the 30-year-old wideout to the Buffalo Bills</a>. The 10-year veteran <a href="https://x.com/JosinaAnderson/status/1846255916343058706" rel="noopener">reacted to the news</a> like a pro, per NFL insider Josina Anderson.</p><p>“(General manager) Andrew Berry called me and told me what was going on. As far as playing with Josh (Allen) I’ve always been fan of his game. I’m sure to see it up close and personal and play alongside him, I’m sure it’s going to be great.</p><p>“I’ve been in this situation before, so that helps. I’m just excited to turn a new chapter and to be able to contribute.”</p><p>The Browns sent Cooper and a 2025 sixth-round pick to the Bills for a 2025 third-round and 2026 seventh-round pick.</p><p>Cooper was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in 2015. During the 2018 season, he was <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/cowboys-news-amari-cooper-reportedly-traded-to-dallas">traded to the Dallas Cowboys</a> for a 2019 first-round pick. Before the 2022 NFL season, Cooper was traded again, this time to the Cleveland Browns for a 2022 fifth-round pick and a 2022 sixth-round pick.</p><h2><b>Bills jumpstart passing game with Amari Cooper</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Browns-Amari-Cooper-now-on-the-Buffalo-Bills-after-trade.jpg"><figcaption>© Ken Blaze-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>Are the Bills playing bad? Not really. But a certain something appeared to be missing when they played against the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans, their two toughest opponents this season. They were outscored 53-30 in those contests. Against the Ravens, the Bills’ leading receiver was Khalil Shakir, who made four catches for 62 yards. Allen went 16-for-20 for 180 yards.</p><p>It didn’t get any better against the Texans as a dazed Allen completed just 9-of-30 for 131 yards and a score. Rookie WR Keon Coleman led all Bills receivers with one catch for 49 yards and a touchdown. No other pass catcher had more than two receptions.</p><p>Something needed to be done, and while Cooper is far from being a savior, he’s a proven commodity who’s accustomed to the pressures of <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/browns-news-amari-cooper-addresses-swirling-trade-rumors">being the new guy</a>.</p><p>The Bills also benefit greatly from the financial flexibility of adding Cooper, per NFL insider Tom Pelissero.</p><p>“The Browns converted $18.79 million of Amari Cooper’s $20M salary to a signing bonus back in March,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported after the trade. “Buffalo didn’t have the flexibility to pay Davante Adams $11.6 million for the rest of 2024 like the #Jets did. Now, they get Cooper for … $806,667.”</p><p>Buffalo needed to shake things up on offense and give Allen the true No. 1 receiver the team lacked. The now-former Brown restructured his contract before the season and is now on a minimum deal this year.</p><p>Money-wise, the Bills <a href="https://x.com/TomPelissero/status/1846256288478445967" rel="noopener">got a much better deal</a> than the Jets got with Adams.</p><p>“The Browns converted $18.79 million of Amari Cooper’s $20M salary to a signing bonus back in March,” NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported after the trade. “Buffalo didn’t have the flexibility to pay Davante Adams $11.6 million for the rest of 2024 like the #Jets did. And on Monday, Cook’s backup, Ray Davis, posted 152 all-purpose yards against the Jets, which is the most for a rookie this season.</p><p>It is the wide receiver position that has hurt the Bills offense in 2024. After losing Gabe Davis and Stefon Diggs in the offseason, Buffalo has not fully replaced them. Khalil Shakir has been good but already missed a game with an injury. The rest of the veterans — Mack Hollins, Curtis Samuel, Marquez Valdes-Scantling — have been average as best.</p><p>Second-round pick Keon Coleman has been good at times but has also looked every bit the rookie at other times, making some big mistakes.</p><p>Bringing in Amari Cooper is a great deal for the Bills as it will upgrade the WR corps while also not costing a lot this season or in the future. Because of their horrible play as of late, trade rumors have started to surround their top wide receiver, Amari Cooper.</p><p>The pass-catcher was asked about just that on Thursday for the second week in a row and <a href="https://x.com/AkronJackson/status/1844410801760895463" rel="noopener">made it clear</a> he’s simply focused on helping the Browns turn things around.</p><p>Via Zac Jackson:</p><p>“Hasn’t even crossed my mind…not thinking about us not winning games. I’m thinking about us winning games.</p><p>“Things get hard sometimes. Gotta fight your way through it.”</p><p>Cooper will become an unrestricted free agent after this season and he’s now 30-years-old. However, the Browns did add void years to his deal. If Cleveland did trade him though, they would have $<a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5829271/2024/10/09/browns-amari-cooper-trade-options/" rel="noopener">22 million in dead money</a> on their 2025 cap, per The Athletic.</p><p>This offense has been truly atrocious so far, ranking dead last in total yards and third down conversion rate. They’re also 30th in points with only 15.8 per contest. The Browns haven’t reached 20 points in a single game once yet. <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/3-qb-trades-browns-must-make-as-deshaun-watsons-struggles-continue">Quarterback Deshaun Watson is struggling immensely</a>, completing just 60.2% of his passes for five touchdowns against three interceptions. He hasn’t been worth the money they paid him.</p><p>As for Cooper, he leads Cleveland with 20 catches for 208 yards and two TDs. The veteran would be a nice addition at next month’s trade deadline for a team looking for another weapon. To be honest, clubs are always in need of more help downfield and the Browns would be able to get a nice return for him.</p><p>The Browns won’t have it any easier this Sunday as they face the Philadelphia Eagles, who are expected to get AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith back. However, Amari Cooper doesn’t think Watson is at the center of Cleveland’s problems.</p><p>The Browns lost 34-13 against the Washington Commanders in Week 5. Watson completed just 15-of-28 pass attempts for 125 yards and a touchdown. But moreso than just quarterback, Cooper believes the Browns <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/41666479/deshaun-watson-expectation-cleveland-browns" rel="noopener">as a whole must be better</a>, via Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.</p><p>“To be honest, I don’t think Deshaun is a problem at all,” Cooper said. “I think we can all just play better for him.”</p><p>Through the first five weeks of the season, Cleveland ranks dead last in total offense, averaging 239.4 yards per game. Their pass offense is 30th, averaging 142.8 YPG while their run game ranks 27th, averaging 96.6 YPG. Their 15.8 points per game rank 30th in the league.</p><p>But even with a struggling offense, Cleveland’s defense was expected to carry the load after 2023’s success. They rank a modest 13th, allowing 326 YPG. As long as Myles Garrett is healthy the defense will shine. However, they’re coming off of a season in which they ranked first in total defense, allowing 270.2 YPG. Expectations are bit higher for the Browns.</p><p>With every loss, Cleveland gets further and further away from playoff contention. While Watson’s play will be under a microscope, Amari Cooper thinks it’s a team wide issue.</p><h2><b>What went wrong for Deshaun Watson?</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Deshaun-Watson.jpg"><figcaption>Peter Casey-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>The Browns took a massive gamble by trading for and then signing Watson to a massive $230 million contract extension. But ever since he has come to Cleveland, the quarterback has gone just 9-8 as a starter.</p><p>Watson has completed 60 percent of his passes for 3,069 yards, 19 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He has added 448 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.</p><p>During his four years with the Houston Texans, Watson ran for 1,677 yards and 17 touchdowns. He threw for 14,539 yards, 104 touchdowns and 36 interceptions while earning three Pro Bowl nominations. Simply put, Watson has not looked like the same quarterback in Cleveland.</p><p>Still, head coach <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/browns-news-kevin-stefanski-not-benching-browns-deshaun-watson-latest-disaster">Kevin Stefanski doesn’t plan to bench Watson</a>. He now has clear support from his top receiver in Cooper. But the narrative surrounding Deshaun Watson right now is far from positive. He had five catches for 27 yards over the first two weeks before collecting seven catches for 86 yards and two touchdowns in the 21-15 loss to the New York Giants.</p><p>Cooper said he understands on one level how things are between media and players.</p><p>“It’s just the nature of the business,” Cooper said. “Obviously we get scrutinized more than you guys do. Maybe you all should start asking questions in front of the camera, so they can see your all’s faces. That’s just how it goes. The Browns entered the game as a serious playoff threat while the Giants appear to be rebuilding. Cooper said blame could be <a href="https://www.cleveland.com/browns/2024/09/amari-cooper-on-why-the-browns-were-upset-by-the-giants-and-busting-out-of-his-slump.html" rel="noopener">shared by many</a>, according to cleveland.com.</p><p>“You could blame a lot of things,” he said. “Honestly, at the end of the day, like Stefanski said at halftime, the plays don’t matter. We’ve just got to go out there and want it more. We’ve got to give that team their credit, they were hungry, they were desperate for a win and they came out and outplayed us. So that’s what I would attribute it to.”</p><p>Cooper said his turnaround started in practice.</p><p>“During the week I said I needed to treat the practice like the game, just more intentional,” he said. “Not saying that I got complacent or anything like that, but I just was more intentional. And wide receiver Amari Cooper took time to deliver a blunt admission about the Brandon Aiyuk trade rumors.</p><p>Rumors suggested the 49ers had an interest in Cooper as part of the talks with the 49ers and their star receiver. And at the time he posted on Instagram: “lol I wouldn’t mind at all.” But he <a href="https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/amari-cooper-on-previous-trade-rumors-its-neither-here-nor-there" rel="noopener">brushed that aside</a>, according to nbcsports.com via Jeff Schudel of The News-Herald.</p><p>“At the end of the day, it’s neither here nor there,” Cooper said. “So, I’m just focused on playing my best football.”</p><h2><b>Browns WR Amari Cooper not worried about social media</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Cleveland-Browns-WR-Amari-Cooper-with-San-Francisco-WR-Brandon-Aiyuk-in-the-background.jpg"><figcaption>Ken Blaze-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>Cooper’s post seemed to hint at him being OK with leaving the Browns. But Cooper said that’s not the case.</p><p>“Hey, I mean, the media is all about sensationalism, so I’ll let y’all have fun with whatever you thought that might’ve meant,” Cooper said. “At the end of the day, you might be traded away from one team — it’s all about how you perceive things.</p><p>“Life is all about perception because in regards to trades, you’re traded away from one team but you’re being accepted into another team. So I just look at it as, that’s how the business is arranged.”</p><p>Cooper started his career with the Raiders, posting 1,000-yard seasons in each of his first two seasons. He moved on to Dallas in 2018, putting together two more 1,000-yard seasons. With the Browns over the last two years, Cooper became the first receiver in team history to record back-to-back seasons with at least 1,000 yards. The seven-time Pro Bowl selection finished last year with 72 receptions for 1,250 yards with five scores.</p><h2><b>Cooper hopes to continue consistent performances</b></h2><p>Cooper will become a free agent after this season. Still, the Browns wanted to make Cooper feel better about 2024, They restructured his contract to guarantee him $20 million, moving his ceiling up $5 million as well. Therefore, he can make $25 million this season.</p><p>Browns general manager Andrew Berry said Cooper is <a href="https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/40387933/browns-wide-receiver-options-heading-2024" rel="noopener">a key part</a> of the team despite the contract and the trade talks, according to espn.com via NFL Network’s “The Insiders.”</p><p>“Sometimes all teams will have periods where they go through these types of situations,” Berry said. “But it doesn’t change our affinity for Amari. We’ll navigate, call it, the business considerations and the business aspects as it goes. But he is a big part of our team. And just as importantly, he’s a big part of our culture.”</p><p>Head coach Kevin Stefanski said Cooper <a href="https://www.cleveland.com/browns/2024/09/kevin-stefanski-on-hosting-the-cowboys-jedrick-wills-jr-and-more-transcript.html" rel="noopener">hasn’t been distracted</a> heading into Week 1, according to cleveland.com via a team transcript.</p><p>“We talked about Amari over the years and over the months,” Stefanski said. “I mean, he’s about his business.”</p><p>Cleveland’s season opener is an interesting one. At 30, Cooper has just about every individual accolade you could ask for, so playing for a winner like the 49ers makes sense.</p><p>As for Aiyuk, he gets to be the No. 1 guy for the Browns and would likely get that massive contract extension he is looking for. Also, since he is four years younger than Cooper, he can better afford to weather the Browns’ uncertainty over the next few seasons.</p><p>Speaking of which, the Browns have to go all in in the last three seasons of Deshaun Watson’s fully guaranteed $230 contract. To get younger and more explosive by swapping Cooper for Aiyuk makes sense.</p><p>Finally, the 49ers get a Pro Bowl-caliber WR back in this deal which would lessen the blow of losing their own key wideout just weeks before the 2024 campaign.</p><p>This is a win-win-win-win trade if it happens.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
