His performance helped propel the team to a 10-7 record in a highly competitive division as the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/denver-broncos/broncos-news-bo-nix-sends-message-after-clinching-playoff-spot">Broncos return to the playoffs</a>, ending an agonizing eight-year drought. While Nix became a sensation in his debut season, Denver’s strong offensive line play deserves a great deal of credit for the team’s success.</p><p>NFL insider Field Yates is a big believer in the Broncos’ offensive line. After a standout 2024 campaign, <a href="https://x.com/ESPNNFL/status/1938713132156821561" rel="noopener">he expects</a> the unit to dominate again in 2025. “The Broncos are about as well positioned as anybody in the entire league at that offensive line spot,” Yates declared, per NFL on ESPN.</p><p>“They were the number one NFL offensive line in not just run-block win rate but also pass-block win rate – and by a lot. They were at 74 percent last year. Only one other team in the league was even above 70,” Yates noted.</p><h2><b>Broncos’ offensive line expected to dominate in 2025</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Broncos-Line.jpg"><figcaption>Ron Chenoy-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>The Broncos’ offensive line was the top-ranked unit in football last season. However, there were actually two other teams (the Ravens and the Vikings) that reached at least 70 percent in both run- and pass-block win rate. Still, the Broncos were dominant with a <a href="https://www.espn.co.uk/nfl/story/_/id/41040723/2024-nfl-win-rates-top-teams-players-rankings#pbwr" rel="noopener">74 percent</a> win rate in pass blocking and 75 percent on running plays, per ESPN.</p><p>The Broncos invested in the o-line, bringing in right tackle <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/denver-broncos/broncos-news-sign-former-49ers-tackle-mike-mcglinchey">Mike McGlinchey on a five-year, $87.5 million contract</a> in 2023. The team added left guard Ben Powers the same year. Denver assembled the rest of the line through the draft, selecting left tackle Garett Bolles in the first round in 2017, right guard Quinn Meinerz in the third round in 2021 and center Luke Wattenberg in the fifth round the following year.</p><p>“They have all five starters expected back this year for that offensive line… To me, a lot of reasons to be optimistic about this Denver team because [they’re strong at] a position that we always find ourselves talking about where teams don’t have enough talent or enough depth,” Yates added.</p><p>All five starters had strong individual seasons as Powers ranked first in run-block win rate among interior lineman and Wattenberg, Meinerz and Powers all placed top-five for interior pass-block win rate. His rookie season put him on the map as one of the top young stars in the game. He led the Broncos to a playoff appearance in his rookie season, and the expectations are through the roof for this franchise.</p><p>Many people have already given him his flowers, while some expect more from the quarterback. Every player goes through criticism, but there wasn’t much Nix did wrong in his rookie season. Considering how well he did last year, even the slightest jump is a big deal for this team. The <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/denver-broncos/broncos-news-denver-named-nfls-most-improved-defense-by-espn-personality">Broncos’ defense is already getting the “most improved”</a> label this offseason.</p><p>Offensive tackle Garett Bolles <a href="https://www.nfl.com/news/broncos-lt-garett-bolles-gushes-over-freak-of-nature-bo-nix-after-impressive-rookie-season" rel="noopener">had nothing but great things to say</a> about Nix.</p><p>“Bo’s a tremendous football player,” Bolles said during a Wednesday appearance on NFL Network’s The Insiders. “I’m so grateful I get to protect him and being his blindside protector, giving him all the time in the world. He’s a freak of nature. You look at the numbers that he put up last year, between him and (Jayden) Daniels, those were the two young quarterbacks in the league that’s gonna be very successful, and I have one of them behind me. His demeanor, his composure, his work ethic, just always wanting to get better, his arm talent and just the way he sees it, he has swag, man, he really does.”</p><p>Nix didn’t have many weapons in his rookie year, but was able to make the most of it by making plays himself. When the ball is in his possession, you can expect great things. This is only the beginning for the Broncos for what could be a huge run that could last his entire career. One of his goals include learning as much as possible from head coach Sean Payton.</p><p>Payton has been at the helm for the Broncos since 20#, making the effort to bring them back to serious playoff contention. His ability to develop a talented young quarterback like Nix is a major example, which will be crucial going into 2025.</p><p>Nonetheless, Nix has had high remarks for Payton. Progressing through the team’s OTAs, the quarterback mentioned that <a href="https://www.nfl.com/news/broncos-qb-bo-nix-feels-a-lot-better-understanding-denver-s-offense-heading-into-year-2" rel="noopener">things are getting easier to process</a> as he improves in the coach’s system.</p><p>“I feel like I’m a lot further,” Nix said Thursday, via the team’s website. “Just spitting out play calls [is] a lot easier, and processing. … It’s a lot better, it’s a lot more enjoyable not thinking right now as opposed to what I was doing last year.”</p><p>“It’s fun to have a little bit more of an understanding of what’s going on so I can be a little bit more beneficial to others and help them out along the way. I feel good. After a rough start, he bounced back as he led Denver to a playoff berth, their first since the # season.</p><p>Throughout his 17 games, he completed 376 passes for 3,775 yards and 29 touchdowns. He was also active on the ground, making 92 rushes for 430 yards and four touchdowns.</p><p>His efforts helped the Broncos finish 10-7 but saw their season end after losing 31-7 to the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Wild Card round. Nix only completed 13 passes for 144 yards and a touchdown.</p><p>Nix certainly learned a lot from his rookie year. As the year progressed, so did Nix’s ability to make plays, and that got them into the playoffs, where they were defeated by the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card Round.</p><p>Expectations should be high now that Nix has a year under his belt, and offensive lineman Mike McGlinchey sees <a href="https://www.denverpost.com/2025/06/05/mike-mcglinchey-bo-nix-team-sean-payton-renck/" rel="noopener">a lot of special attributes</a> about the quarterback.</p><p>“The confidence, the competitiveness, the willingness to get after Sean at times, this is Bo’s team. He knows that. Everybody knows that,” McGlinchey said via Troy Renck of the Denver Post. “And it’s really cool to see him manage expectations. He doesn’t give a (bleep). He has such a talent of blocking out anything that doesn’t matter to him.</p><p>“I think that’s what separates the great ones: simplifying your life to make sure that everything is going towards one goal. The way he has looked the last two weeks, this kid is on his way to really taking off.”</p><p>It looks like Nix has the trust of his teammates, and that will go a long way as the Broncos will try to make strides ahead of the 2025 season.</p><h2><b>Broncos players continue to speak highly of Bo Nix</b></h2><p>Not only are players on offense giving Nix his credit, but the defense sees something special in him as well. In an interview with DJ Siddiqi of ClutchPoints, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/denver-broncos/exclusive-patrick-surtain-bo-nix-controls-broncos-offense">Pat Surtain II spoke about Nix</a> and what he sees in the quarterback when he’s on the field.</p><p>“He has a certain demeanor to him,” Surtain said. “I feel like he’s all about football, but when he is off the field, he’s an advocate towards God and spreading that word out towards the locker room. When you have a person that follows that role, you just look to him in the highest ways. He’s a great teammate, a great person as well too, a great leader.”</p><p>People have been talking about Nix like he’s been a veteran in the league for some time, and it seems like he caught on to the playbook at a fast pace as well. With a head coach such as Sean Payton, who has won at a high level before, Nix will continue to develop as a solid quarterback in the league and will be put in the right situations to do so.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

They tilted the ice offensively late, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nhl/colorado-avalanche/avalanche-news-embarrassing-stars-blunder-helps-colorado-force-game-7">scoring on three fortuitous bounces to force Game 7</a>. Broncos quarterback Bo Nix was in the Ball Arena crowd and loved the environment in Denver. Clutchpoints’ Rachel Strand has <a href="https://x.com/MileHighRachel/status/1918164090356416610" rel="noopener">more on what impressed</a> Nix on Thursday.</p><p>“Just rode the elevator down with Bo Nix and like 4 other Broncos. They definitely enjoyed the Avs game. Nix was in awe of how good Dallas’ goalie (Oettinger) was. Avs still got the hard-fought win,” Strand reported.</p><p>Nix’s compliments of Jake Oettinger’s play may lead to some questions about his puck knowledge after a 7-4 result. But two of those goals were in an empty net, and the Avalanche scored some wild goals. The game-winning goal went off two Stars’ players before getting past Oettinger.</p><p>The Avalanche and Stars head back to Dallas for Game 7 of their first-round series. It is the only Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs so far, with the Blues having an opportunity to force a second. It’s been a back-and-forth series with fantastic offense from both sides. Nix and his Broncos teammates saw a heck of a game and hope to see more great playoff matchups this spring.</p><p>Ball Arena will flip to a basketball court for<a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nba/denver-nuggets/nuggets-news-russell-westbrook-catches-heat-blown-layup-clutch-vs-clippers"> Game 7 of the Nuggets-Clippers series on Saturday night</a>. That will be going on in the Mile High City at the same time as the Avalanche-Stars Game 7 in the Lone Star State. Whether Nix and his teammates are back in the building for Nikola Jokic’s win-or-go-home matchup, we’ll have to see.</p><p>Nix led the Broncos to the playoffs last season, starting a solid six months for Denver sports if you ignore the Colorado Rockies.
