But they should have had another big play because video review <a href="https://x.com/JennaLaineESPN/status/1982597304386568222" rel="noopener">disputed there was a whistle</a> on the called-back Antoine Winfield Jr. touchdown, according to a post on X by Jenna LaineESPN.</p><p>“Re: the ‘erroneous whistle’ with Antoine Winfield Jr., I went back to check NFL Next Gen Stats, to review the play, and in both the TV copy and all other views, this is where the film cuts off.”</p><p>However, there’s an admission from an official that he blew his whistle, according to NBC Sports.</p><p>“We ruled that there was a fumble,” referee Ron Torbert said. “It was recovered by the defense, but there was a whistle blown from the other side of the field. The official thought that the runner was down. We were able to award the defense the ball after the fumble, but because the whistle had been blown, we could not award the advance afterwards.”</p><h2><b>Bottom line: Buccaneers got a raw deal</b></h2><p>The good news for the Buccaneers is that they won the game, picking up an important division victory over a rival.</p><p>Still, head coach Todd Bowles <a href="https://www.joebucsfan.com/2025/10/todd-bowles-pssed-off-over-antoine-winfield-being-robbed/" rel="noopener">apparently felt miffed</a> about the reversal of a score, according to joebucsfan.com.</p><p>“No, he said it was an erroneous error in blowing his whistle,” Bowles said. “[Winfield] legitimately stripped him. I have no answer.”</p><p>And Bowles said he liked the way Winfield played throughout the game.</p><p>“He had a hell of a day,” Bowles said. “I’m still pissed off over some of it, but that’s tough sledding. He did a hell of a job today getting the ball out.”</p><p>And Bowles said he’s happy to <a href="https://www.buccaneers.com/news/bucs-saints-week-8-recap-postgame-report-2025" rel="noopener">see the bye week</a> roll around, according to buccaneers.com.</p><p>“It will be huge,” said Bowles of the Bucs’ upcoming bye. “It’s halfway through the season. We need it more than anybody. I credit those guys for fighting week-in and week-out, people stepping up, and people moving to different positions and helping us win, which you have to do in order to be a good team. So we’ve done that the first half. We’ve got to rest up. He joined ClutchPoints in 2023.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">NFL</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>On Sunday afternoon, the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/tampa-bay-buccaneers/buccaneers-news-anthony-nelsons-pick-6-feat-not-seen-2023">Tampa Bay Buccaneers improved</a> to 6-2 on the 2025 NFL season with an easy 23-3 road win <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/tampa-bay-buccaneers/buccaneers-news-jason-licht-laugh-cameron-jordan-saints-beatdown">over the New Orleans Saints.</a> The Buccaneers played this game without linebacker Haason Reddick, who was out with an injury.</p><p>On Monday, the Buccaneers got the latest update on Reddick’s <a href="https://x.com/ScottSBucs/status/1982848293014253990" rel="noopener">status moving forward.</a></p><p>“HC Todd Bowles says Haason Reddick is dealing primarily with an ankle sprain and that his knee is just sore. Called Reddick ‘day to day’ and ‘week to week,'” reported Scott Smith of the Buccaneers on X, formerly Twitter.</p><p>The 31 year-old veteran had played in every game for the Buccaneers up until Sunday, when he missed the game against New Orleans. Still, Tampa Bay didn’t seem to miss him too much with their defensive performance against the Saints, holding New Orleans to just three points on the afternoon in the divisional matchup.</p><h2><b>An elite Buccaneers team</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Buccaneers-quarterback-Baker-Mayfield.jpg"><figcaption>Nathan Ray Seebeck-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>The good news for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is that now, the team will get to enjoy its bye week, meaning Reddick will have more time than usual to allow his various ailments to recover before the team next takes the field.</p><p>Overall, the Buccaneers have been chugging along nicely this year despite continued injury concerns, particularly on offense, where wide receiver Mike Evans has been placed on injured reserve due to a broken collarbone sustained in last week’s loss to the Detroit Lions, while fellow wide receiver Chris Godwin and running back Bucky Irving both missed the game against New Orleans as well.</p><p>Still, Baker Mayfield has been performing at a near MVP level so far this season to keep the Buccaneers not only above water but thriving in an NFC South race that is falling apart around them.</p><p>In any case, as previously mentioned, the Buccaneers will now have a week off to try to get as healthy as they can before they next take the field on November 9 at home against the upstart New England Patriots. Following the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/new-orleans-saints/saints-news-spencer-rattler-benched-tyler-shough-buccaneers">Buccaneers’ 23-3 beatdown of the New Orleans Saints</a> on Sunday at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Licht hopped on social media to score another field in a different realm. Baker Mayfield had pedestrian numbers in Week 8, passing for only 152 yards with zero touchdowns and a lost fumble while completing 15 of his 24 throws, but he was still much better than both Saints quarterbacks in the contest. Spencer Rattler and Tyler Shough combined for 227 passing yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions, while getting sacked five times for a loss of 37 yards.</p><p>Also, Jordan and the Saints’ defense were outplayed by their Tampa Bay counterpart. It has become a multi-billion-dollar business, with hundreds of thousands of leagues across the country. It is a game of skill, precision, and yes, a bit of luck.</p><p>Sometimes you draft an elite player, and they get hurt. Ask Joe Burrow or Malik Nabers’ owners how their season is going. Generally speaking, running back and wide receiver are the most important positions for fantasy managers. The tight end position is typically a barren wasteland beyond a handful of players.</p><p>This year might be even worse. Those who used an early-to-middle round draft pick on the position are likely regretting it. <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/49ers-news-george-kittle-will-have-no-pitch-count-in-week-7-return">George Kittle missed five weeks</a> of action. Brock Bowers has been out the last few and is on a bye this week. Even Trey McBride has failed to live up to expectations.</p><p>With NFL Week 8 action upon us, fantasy football managers are likely streaming the position. But don’t fret, there are actually some usable options on your waiver wire.</p><h2><b>Cade Otton can be started</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Buccaneers-TE-Cade-Otton.jpg"><figcaption>© Lon Horwedel-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>The first player on our list is Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton. He remains one of the very few reliable pass-catching options for Baker Mayfield. <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/tampa-bay-buccaneers/buccaneers-news-mike-evans-miss-most-2025-nfl-season-mnf-injury">Mike Evans broke his collarbone</a>, and Chris Godwin is out with a lower leg injury. Even rookie Emeka Egbuka is far from fully healthy.</p><p>That leaves Tez Johnson (also worth streaming at wide receiver) and Otton as pass catchers likely to receive a solid target share. The Saints have been pesky all year and hang around. Plus, Bucky Irving is still out. So Mayfield will probably throw at least 30 times in this game.</p><p>Given that info, I have to think that Otton can be started yet again. He has proven to be valuable to Baker and the offense before. Why not again?</p><h2><b>Stream Juwan Johnson</b></h2><p>The same game offers another streaming opportunity for fantasy managers.</p><p>New Orleans Saints’ tight end Juwan Johnson burst out of the gates to begin the 2025 season. Through three weeks, he turned 28 targets into 19 catches for 176 yards and a touchdown. That had him firmly in the middle of the TE1 conversation.</p><p>Curiously, New Orleans then went away from the talented tight end out of Oregon. He garnered just seven targets total.</p><p>But in Week 7, Johnson was busy again with the Saints playing catch-up against the Chicago Bears. He hauled in five of seven targets for 79 yards. This week, Johnson will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.</p><p>Tampa is favored and will likely be scoring points. Saints running back Alvin Kamara is struggling mightily on the ground, and his backup, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/new-orleans-saints/saints-news-rb-kendre-miller-tears-acl-out-for-season">Kendre Miller, suffered a season-ending injury</a>. That will leave Spencer Rattler chucking the ball around.</p><p>I look for Johnson to garner seven to nine targets, many of which are up the seam against a beatable Bucs secondary.</p><h2><b>Dalton Schultz can be streamed</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Texans-TE-Dalton-Schultz.jpg"><figcaption>© Troy Taormina-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>The Houston Texans’ offense is in shambles. <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/houston-texans/texans-news-nico-collins-concussion-makes-houstons-brutal-night-even-worse">Nico Collins is still in the concussion protocol</a> and appears unlikely to play in Week 8 against the San Francisco 49ers. Fellow wideout Christian Kirk is also going to miss the game.</p><p>Houston has two rookie receivers. But how much can CJ Stroud trust them? You know who he does trust? His tight end.</p><p>Dalton Schultz was Stroud’s first and second read, it looked like on Monday night. He caught nine of 10 targets for 98 yards in a loss to the Seattle Seahawks. There is no reason to believe Schultz is not in store for the same volume in Week 8.</p><p>Yet, he is owned in just 32 percent of leagues on Yahoo. If you need a tight end that is sure to get you at least some production, this is as sure a bet as you’ll find on waivers.</p><h2><b>Jonnu Smith is risky, but may pay off</b></h2><p>Ok, I know you may think I am a little crazy on this one. But I believe Jonnu Smith offers fantasy football managers some streaming appeal this week.</p><p>No, that is not because I am chasing last week’s touchdown. He caught three of six targets for 28 yards and a touchdown.</p><p>This week, the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Green Bay Packers. The game is being billed as the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/pittsburgh-steelers/steelers-news-aaron-rodgers-insists-week-8-no-revenge-game-how-does-he-really-feel-about-packers">Aaron Rodgers revenge game, even though he downplayed that aspect</a>. But from a schematic standpoint, Smith makes some sense here.</p><p>The Packers rank among the best at limiting fantasy receivers. Also, over the last two weeks, Smith, not Pat Freiermuth, has had a 74 percent route share. So, he is the tight end running routes. Green Bay has allowed the <a href="https://www.fantasypros.com/2025/10/the-primer-week-8-edition-2025-fantasy-football/3/#gb-pit" rel="noopener">second-most schedule-adjusted fantasy points per game</a> to tight ends, per FantasyPros.</p><p>If you are truly in a bind, Smith is worth throwing a dart at. Admittedly, he would be ranked fourth among the players on this list.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

And Todd Bowles dropped <a href="https://x.com/NFLSTROUD/status/1981758893421121651" rel="noopener">a “bloodbath” admission</a> on the Saints clash after Mayfield’s comments, according to a post on X by Rick Stroud.</p><p>“Coach Todd Bowles on Baker Mayfield saying the Saints’ play is less than clean. “He’s gotta play the game…we know it’s going to be a bloodbath.”</p><p>The Buccaneers have been light years better than the Saints this year, posting a 5-2 overall mark to the weak 1-6 effort by New Orleans.</p><h2><b>Buccaneers HC Todd Bowles doesn’t like the Saints</b></h2><p>He said playing the Saints is always challenging.</p><p>“It’s a rivalry game,” Bowles said. “It’s gonna be a tough game either way. Both sides can say the same thing. We just gotta play the right way and try to do all the small things to win.”</p><p>Interestingly, Mayfield made the comments even though the Saints have a new coach in Kellen Moore. Apparently, there’s <a href="https://www.nfl.com/news/buccaneers-baker-mayfield-doesnt-expect-clean-play-saints-i-do-not-like-them" rel="noopener">no benefit of the doubt</a>, according to NFL.com.</p><p>“It has not exactly been clean play from their part when we play them,” Mayfield said of the Saints on Wednesday. “It is a physical game; it is what it is. You expect it [from a] division rival. … Yeah, not much else to say besides for the fact that I do not like them.”</p><p>Mayfield said he expects the Buccaneers to be ready across their entire roster and try to bounce back from the Monday night loss to the Lions.</p><p>“Yeah, I think you look at that,” Mayfield said. “I know it is not a Thursday week, but similar on short weeks. If you lose, you want to get out there quicker rather than later to get it out of your system. Especially when you have a group like we have, they understand what we have to do to get the job done to find wins. Our guys will handle it the right way, heal up as quick as we can, and go from there.”</p><p>The Bucs will have to go without wide receiver Mike Evans for the foreseeable future, according to PewterReport.com.</p><p>“He’s doing well, Bowles said. “It’s going to be touch and go.
