Miami’s 2024 season was basically cut short by a <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/miami-dolphins/dolphins-news-tua-tagovailoa-has-head-injury-scare-vs-bills">scary concussion injury to QB Tua Tagovailoa</a> that occurred during the team’s second regular season game. Now the Dolphins are hard at work upgrading the roster in the hopes of returning the postseason in 2025. They’ll need their superstar wide receiver in the fold to make that happen.</p><p>Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill <a href="https://x.com/cheetah/status/1906713110968475821" rel="noopener">blasted trade rumors</a> that popped up on social media on Monday morning.</p><p>Hill posted on X, formerly, Twitter, calling the rumors “another false narrative.” His message was in reply to an account that alleged Hill would be okay with being traded to a playoff contender.</p><p>All of these rumors started in response to <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/miami-dolphins/dolphins-news-fans-crazy-tyreek-hill-cryptic-posts">Hill’s recent activity on social media</a>. Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team noted on Sunday that Hill <a href="https://x.com/MySportsUpdate/status/1906458508746449335" rel="noopener">made some vague posts</a> on social media that suggested he would be okay being traded.</p><p>Hill responded with a smiley face emoji to a post that questioned whether Dolphins fans would be okay trading him away. He also made two posts with a peace emoji.</p><p>One of those posts was a question posed to Jason Fitzgerald at Over the Cap about the most likely big-name players to be traded during the 2025 NFL Draft. Fitzgerald named Hill as his answer.</p><p>Dolphins fans should expect this situation to simmer down after the 2025 NFL Draft.</p><h2>Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel responds to Tyreek Hill trade rumors</h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/DOLPHINS-HEAD-COACH-MIKE-MCDANIEL-AND-WIDE-RECEIVER-TYREEK-HILL.jpg"><figcaption>Mandatory Credit: Jim Rassol-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/miami-dolphins/dolphins-news-mike-mcdaniel-tyreek-hills-social-media-antics-trade-buzz">Mike McDaniel also responded to the trade rumors surrounding Hill</a> on Monday.</p><p>McDaniel reiterated that both Hill and the Dolphins plan to improve their relationship moving forward.</p><p>“We are fully planning to move forward as a better version of our relationship with Tyreek and the Miami Dolphins,” McDaniel said on Monday morning. “I have no reason to think otherwise … You know, a lot of things can happen in the National Football League, so you throw absolutes out there, and then — ‘Hey, you said this!’ Tyreek’s known for whatever antics on social media.”</p><p>Hill has been an incredible wide receiver <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/miami-dolphins/regrading-dolphins-chiefs-tyreek-hill-trade">since the Dolphins acquired him in 2022</a>. He logged two consecutive seasons with 119 receptions and over 1,700 receiving yards to begin his tenure in Miami.</p><p>Unfortunately, 2024 was a down year after Tua Tagovailoa’s concussion. Hill only managed 81 receptions for 959 receiving yards and six touchdowns in the regular season.</p><p>Hill is likely to return to form in 2025 and help the Dolphins fight their way back into the playoffs.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

Hill would walk back these comments, even <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/nfl-rumors-dolphins-not-expected-trade-tyreek-hill-after-apology">issuing a public apology to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa</a>, but he fired the trade rumors back up on Sunday night with a <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/miami-dolphins/dolphins-news-fans-crazy-tyreek-hill-cryptic-posts">slew of cryptic social media posts</a>. That led to head coach Mike McDaniel being forced to address Hill’s latest antics.</p><p>Hill is known for being a bit of a loose cannon off the field, and that proved true again when he replied to several posts on X, formerly Twitter, mentioning him as a potential trade candidate for the Dolphins. McDaniel reiterated that for the time being, Hill and Miami are on good terms, and that they have no interest in trading him. Hill still put up strong numbers, catching 81 passes for 959 yards and six touchdowns, but it was a far cry from just the year before that when he led the league in receiving yards (1,799) and receiving touchdowns (13) while also tying his career-high mark for receptions with 119.</p><p>For now, McDaniel has no reason to believe that the Dolphins are going to trade Hill, even as he draws attention to himself with his recent activity on social media. So, what will they do with these selections as they try to dethrone <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/bills-news-josh-allen-fiancee-hailee-steinfeld-savagely-takes-down-afc-east-teams">the Buffalo Bills as perennial AFC East champs</a>? We asked the <a href="https://www.pff.com/draft/nfl-mock-draft-simulator" rel="noopener">Pro Football Focus NFL mock draft simulator</a> that question, and here is what it told us in the Dolphins’ seven-round 2025 NFL mock draft, according to the PFF simulator.</p><h2><b>Round 1, Pick 13 — EDGE Mike Green, Marshall</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Mike-Green-at-Marshall.jpg"><figcaption>Peter Casey-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>The Dolphins could go several ways with their first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, as the team has major holes on the offensive line and on the defensive side of the ball. The best strategy, though, may be to go with the best player available, and if Chris Grier thought that was Mike Green, it would be hard to argue.</p><p>Green dominated in relative obscurity at Marshall, racking up an FBS-leading 17 sacks and coming in second with 22.5 TFLs. The Thundering Herd pass-rusher comes in at 6-foot-3 and 251 pounds, which is fine size for an NFL edge rusher, although not elite.</p><p>Still, the production can’t be overlooked, and the way Green rushes the passer with explosiveness and urgency can’t be taught.</p><p>If the Dolphins do hope to take the division from the Bills, it starts with making Josh Allen uncomfortable in the pocket the next time they play. Grabbing a player with the potential to be a double-digit sack guy at the next level is an excellent step in that direction.</p><p>While there may be bigger issues elsewhere, EDGE is a premium position in the NFL, and Miami has to do better than 35 sacks next season, which was only good for 27th in the NFL last year.</p><p>The Dolphins simply won’t find a pass-rusher with Green’s upside later in the draft, so this pick by the PFF NFL mock draft simulator is a smart one.</p><h2><b>Round 2, Pick 48 — OL Donovan Jackson, Ohio State</b></h2><p>The reason why you take the edge rusher in the first round is because you can find a starting-caliber offensive lineman in the second.</p><p>Donovan Jackson was the No. 1 guard prospect in the nation coming out of high school and lived up to his potential at Ohio State. Then, in his final season, he slid over to left tackle when Josh Simmons went down and became a second-team All-American, first-team All-Big Ten, and a national champion.</p><p>Robert Jones and Lian Eichenberg were one of the <a href="https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-final-offensive-line-rankings-2024" rel="noopener">worst guard duos</a> in the NFL last year, so that spot obviously needs an upgrade. Jackson can slide right into one of those spots and become a starting (at worst) and All-Pro (at best) guard for the next decade.</p><p>The fact that he may be able to play tackle in a pinch makes the former Buckeye even more intriguing and valuable for the team that drafts him.</p><p>If the Dolphins come away with a pass rusher and a no-doubt starting offensive lineman with their first two picks like the PFF NFL mock draft simulator predicts, it will be a huge win for Grier and company.</p><h2><b>Round 3, Pick 98 — OL Wyatt Milum, West Virginia</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Wyatt-Milum-prepares-to-block-Amier-Washington.jpg"><figcaption>Michael C. Johnson-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>The Dolphins offensive line was middle-of-the-pack at best last year, and the best player on it, Terron Armstrong, will be 34 in July. So, attacking this unit hard in the first few rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft makes a ton of sense.</p><p>In Wyatt Milum, Miami gets a 6-foot-6, 313-pound tackle whose strength, intelligence, and hard-nosed mentality make it easy to see him succeeding at the next level.</p><p>The biggest issue here is that Milum has “short” arms at 32 and 1/8 inches, which is almost a full inch shorter than the 33-inch arms that usually help predict success at OT. While that may mean his future is at guard in the league, that’s not a bad thing for a team that needs two new guards.</p><p>If Milum can play tackle at the next level, it’s a bonus, but either way, this is a solid selection.</p><h2><b>Round 4, Pick 116 — CB Mello Dotson, Kansas</b></h2><p>Corner is also a concern for the Dolphins after letting Kendall Fuller go. After Jalen Ramsey, the depth at outside CB drops off dramatically. This is exactly what the Dolphins need on their defensive line.</p><p>Miami has almost no players on its defensive line, with Zach Sieler the only reliable player. That makes picking multiple players like Jackson a must for the Dolphins in the 2025 NFL Draft.</p><p>NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein gave Jackson <a href="https://www.nfl.com/prospects/landon-jackson/32004a41-4332-4201-21de-999879938ba6" rel="noopener">a pro comparison to Buccaneers’ defender Logan Hall</a>. He displays all of the skills that scouts like to see from linebackers when defending the run. However, he is nothing to write home about for his coverage.</p><p>The <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/miami-dolphins/dolphins-news-miami-re-sign-107-tackle-lb-8-25-million-contract">Dolphins already re-signed Tyrel Dodson</a> and brought in K.J. Britt and Willie Gay Jr. as depth at off-ball linebacker.</p><p>As a result, Chris Paul Jr. would face an uphill battle to make the final roster. In fact, <a href="https://www.nfl.com/prospects/hollin-pierce/32005049-4530-1658-ad91-2f7a7a787804" rel="noopener">he only committed four penalties</a> during his collegiate career (where he played 3,100 snaps) according to Pro Football Focus.</p><p>While he has nice height and length, his athletic measurables from the NFL Combine do not inspire confidence.</p><p>Pierce would battle with Patrick Paul and former Bears tackle Larry Borom for a spot on the final roster.</p><h2><b>DT Jordan Phillips – Maryland – 132nd overall pick</b></h2><p>The rookie out of Maryland is a powerful nose tackle who boasts plenty of intangibles that coaches love to see.</p><p>He has almost no pass-rush production to speak of, so he’ll have to earn a roster spot solely based on stuffing the run.</p><p>The Dolphins are desperate, so there’s a chance he makes the final roster. But Phillips does not project as a productive NFL player.</p><h2><b>LB Demetrius Knight Jr. – South Carolina – 150th overall pick</b></h2><p>Knight Jr. is a great athlete and instinctive linebacker.</p><p>He boasts solid size, speed, and instincts and comes into the NFL with solid production both at Georgia Tech and one season at South Carolina.</p><p>Knight Jr. has the ability to become an every-down player in the NFL with the right team. Some scouts even believe he has a brighter future than Chris Paul Jr, despite the Dolphins picking him 50 picks later.</p><p>Fun fact: he is cousins with former NFL player DeAngelo Hall, and a distant cousin of both Gladys Knight and Aretha Franklin.</p><h2><b>DT J.J. This offseason, the Dolphins are working hard to rebuild their roster and get back into contention in the AFC East.</p><p>That reconstruction includes all three phases of the game. On Sunday, the Dolphins <a href="https://x.com/MySportsUpdate/status/1901298705149436009" rel="noopener">made a key deal</a> to sign former Tennessee Titans punter Ryan Stonehouse in free agency, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.</p><p>Stonehouse has only spent three seasons in the NFL, but he has been one of the best punters in the league for most of his time as a pro. As a rookie in 2022, the Colorado State product led the league in total punting yards on his way to being named Second Team All-Pro. He also led the NFL in total yards per punt in both 2022 and 2023.</p><p>Stonehouse had a down year in 2024, which is likely a big reason why the Titans decided to let him walk as a free agent. His total yards per punt, which was up at 53.1 over his first two seasons, was down to just 50.6 last season on 73 punts. He also had two punts blocked, which led the NFL.</p><p>The Dolphins are hoping that Stonehouse can find his old form from his first two seasons in the league and give the Miami special teams a big boost in 2025.</p><p>McDaniel is also probably not planning on using Stonehouse all that much as the Dolphins look for a bounce-back season on offense. <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/dolphins-news-miami-sign-zach-wilson-tua-tagovailoa-backup">Tua Tagovailoa will enter the season healthy</a>, and Miami will do its best to keep it that way.</p><p>If Tagovailoa can stay upright, the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/dolphins-news-miami-adding-former-raiders-running-back">Dolphins have the tools to be explosive</a> on offense. If they somehow are able to patch up the offensive line and give Devon Achane some more room to run to create some balance, that will allow Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle to eat on the outside.</p><p>McDaniel is still one of the best offensive minds in the game despite a disappointing season. If he can get this offense humming again, the Dolphins have a chance to find themselves back in the playoffs. Earlier in the day, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/raiders-news-las-vegas-inks-former-dolphins-pro-bowler-one-year-deal">Raheem Mostert agreed to sign with the Raiders</a>.</p><p>Mattison played in 14 games for the Raiders last season and started in seven of them, running for 42o yards and four touchdowns. In his entire career, Mattison has averaged 3.9 yards per carry on 716 attempts and 15 touchdowns. Before playing with the Raiders, Mattison spent four seasons with the Minnesota Vikings and was mostly the RB2 behind Dalvin Cook.</p><p>The Vikings selected Mattison in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and he has been a quality back since entering the league.</p><p>Mattison will most <a href="https://x.com/Schultz_Report/status/1900269186112192529" rel="noopener">likely be the RB2</a> for the Dolphins, with Devon Achane leading the way in the backfield. It looks like the Dolphins will most likely look the same on offense next season, with most of the core group returning. The Dolphins were expected to be a better team than they came out to be last season, but it was mostly because of injuries.</p><p>Tua Tagovailoa missed some of the season after dealing with another concussion, and there were thoughts that he would hang up his jersey after another hard hit. Tagovailoa returned, but it wasn’t enough for the Dolphins to get into the playoffs.</p><p>There was also uncertainty at the end of the season if <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/dolphins-news-tyreek-hill-drops-ominous-message-miami-future-after-missing-playoffs">Tyreek Hill wanted to stay on the team</a> beyond last season after his comments following the Dolphins’ final game. All of that is now cleared up, and the Dolphins should have their core receiving group back with Hill and Jaylen Waddle.</p><p>Hopefully, the Dolphins are able to come back next season and start strong so they can get back in the playoffs.
