As players scattered across the field for jersey swaps, and other post-game brouhaha, Henry found his old quarterback in the shuffle.</p><p>A lot has changed for the former Tennessee Titans tandem, but their friendship <a href="https://x.com/brgridiron/status/1846300027448082709" rel="noopener">appears to be intact</a>.</p><p>Henry was seen jumping for joy at Mariota, as fans watched reminiscing of their time together early in their careers. Mariota was selected by the Titans with the No. 2 overall pick in 2015. Henry joined the squad the next year, as a second-rounder.</p><p>The Titans gradually improved when the two talented players shifted the offense. They put together three-straight winning seasons from 2016 to 2018, before the team brought in Ryan Tannehill to take over as starting quarterback. Mariota exited Tennessee for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2020, and he’s had stints with the Atlanta Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles and currently Washington.</p><p>While Mariota developed more into a journeyman QB in recent years, he looks to have maintained his connection to his former teammate. It reminds NFL fans and organizations how unique players’ friendships are when they enter the pros together, and begin their NFL journey around the same time.</p><h2><b>How Derrick Henry fared in Week 6</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Derrick-Henry.jpg"><figcaption>Tommy Gilligan-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>Even at age 30, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/ravens-news-derrick-henry-hearfelt-message-historic-performance">Henry continues to have a remarkable performances</a>, and he certainly hasn’t surrendered his rightful place on the RB mountaintop. He’s now amassed 704 yards on 119 carries for eight touchdowns in his first season with the Ravens. After a star-studded six campaigns in Tennessee, Henry’s continuing his dominance, which many fans were concerned about when he joined forces with Lamar Jackson.</p><p>In the Ravens’ 30-23 victory over the Commanders in Week 6, Henry posted his third 100-plus yard outing, and scored two touchdowns. Likewise, the game saw a duel between two of the NFL’s best quarterbacks: Lamar Jackson and Jayden Daniels. Jackson went 20-26 for 323 yards, one touchdown and an interception, while Daniels went 24-35 for 269 yards and two touchdowns. Moreover, Ravens running back <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/ravens-news-derrick-henry-joins-exclusive-club-latest-td">Derrick Henry entered the NFL record books</a> by becoming only the second player in league history to score a touchdown in his first six games with a new team.</p><p>“Much love Flock Nation,” Henry said after the game, via <a href="https://x.com/KingHenry_2/status/1845579779967258636" rel="noopener">this post</a> on X, formerly Twitter. In all, the elite RB had 24 carries, 132 rushing yards, and two touchdowns.</p><p>Meanwhile, the Commanders’ defense struggled to contain Henry and Jackson, who helped the Ravens gain 484 yards, and who ultimately broke their winning streak at four games. With his latest rushing touchdown, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/ravens-news-derrick-henry-ties-mike-evans-td-milestone">Henry once again etched his name in the NFL record books</a>.</p><p>Midway through the second quarter of their Week 6 matchup against the Washington Commanders, Henry found the hole for a three-yard score. He <a href="https://x.com/jamisonhensley/status/1845523710008021004" rel="noopener">became the second player</a> since the 1970 merger with a touchdown in the first six games with his new team. He led the league in rushing touchdowns. His effort against the Commanders shows he isn’t looking to give up that lead coming out of Week 6.</p><p>While Baltimore already had Lamar Jackson, adding Henry to the mix has given them an even more explosive offense. Before Week 6 they ranked first in total offense, averaging 447.6 yards per game. Their run game also tops the league, averaging 211.2 YPG. No other team has broken the 200 YPG barometer.</p><p>Derrick Henry’s production is <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/grading-derrick-henrys-2-year-16-million-contract-with-ravens">everything and more the Ravens were hoping for</a> when they signed him to a two-year, $16 million contract. But while he has four Pro Bowls, an All-Pro and an Offensive Player of the Year to his name, Henry has yet to compete for a Super Bowl. The Ravens haven’t made the championship since 2012, when they won it all.</p><p>Both sides are hoping their union ends with gold. If Henry continues running as he has, opposing defenses are going to have an even tougher time to stop Baltimore. After a rough start to the season, the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/why-ravens-blowout-victory-bills-proves-true-super-bowl-contender">Ravens are starting to look like the contenders</a> that many expected them to be heading into the campaign.</p><p>Early on in the game on Sunday, Henry reached a <a href="https://x.com/jamisonhensley/status/1842978223040209241" rel="noopener">historic career milestone</a> when he crossed the goal line from inside the one yard line to give the Ravens a 7-0 lead over the Bengals. The score was the 100th touchdown of Henry’s career, which ties him with Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans for the lead among active players, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN on X, formerly Twitter (via ESPN Stats &amp; Info).</p><p>Evans scored the one hundredth of his career during Tampa Bay’s Thursday night loss to the Atlanta Falcons on the road.</p><p>It’s been a successful start to Derrick Henry’s tenure with the Ravens so far. While he may not have quite the explosive burst that he once did as a member of the Tennessee Titans, Henry remains an unstoppable force in the open field, a fact that he proved with an 87-yard run to the end zone during last week’s demolition of the Buffalo Bills.</p><p>Meanwhile, the Ravens as a whole appear to have figured some things out after a rough 0-2 start to the season, as the team first held on for a victory against the Dallas Cowboys and then annihilated Buffalo last week.</p><p>While Lamar Jackson has stayed fairly accurate in the air, it’s been the Ravens’ rushing attack, led by Henry, that has proved extremely difficult for opponents to stop so far in 2024.</p><p>In any case, after the Bengals game, next up for the Ravens is a home game vs the Washington Commanders.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

Included in the mix is <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/bengals-news-zac-taylor-murky-trey-hendrickson-injury-update">Trey Hendrickson’s injury</a>, along with the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/bengals-news-panthers-fan-caught-doing-disrespectful-act-bengals-chase-brown">disrespect shown to a Bengals’ running back</a>. Now they must face the Ravens, and Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase said the opponent is “cheating.”</p><p>Bengals reporter Kelsey Conway posted the <a href="https://x.com/KelseyLConway/status/1841930756563861659" rel="noopener">tongue-in-cheek comment</a> on X.</p><p>“Ja’Marr Chase’s response when asked about his thoughts about Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson together was fantastic:”</p><p>“That’s cheating,” Chase said. “If I’m playing Madden, RPO read between those two, that’s pretty (unfair), on the game. In real life, they’re still doing the same thing. That’s a great duo they have back there.”</p><p>Henry leads the NFL in rushing with 480 yards on 80 carries. He has scored five touchdowns. Jackson has rushed for 308 yards, ranking No. 9 in the NFL. No wonder Chase called it cheating. The defense has some serious poison to pick from during the mesh point between these players.</p><h2><b>Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase trying to help team get rolling</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Cincinnati-Bengals-WR-JaMarr-Chase.jpg"></figure><p>The Bengals finally won in Week 4, holding off the Panthers by a score of 34-24. But the sting of the 0-3 start still hangs around. Taylor said the team didn’t expect <a href="https://www.nfl.com/news/joe-burrow-bengals-not-happy-after-0-3-start-but-by-no-means-is-the-season-over" rel="noopener">a slow start</a>, according to nfl.com.</p><p>“We didn’t envision ourselves in this spot but here we are,” Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said after the loss to the Commanders in Week 3. “It’s a kick in the gut when you feel really good about the team and you start off 0-3. But again, that is where we are right now. We need to find a way to win next Sunday and get this thing moving in the right direction.”</p><p>Now they have to regroup against one of the NFL’s best teams. And quarterback Joe Burrow said he has <a href="https://www.bengals.com/news/joe-burrow-knows-he-has-to-be-near-perfect-vs-ravens-cam-taylor-britt" rel="noopener">to be on target</a>, according to bengals.com.</p><p>“Their corners are very well coached,” Burrow said. “They’re going to keep everything in front. I feel like they hold their shell, and they’ll mix in a single high coverage here and there, but that’s not who they are. You’ll get a couple of those a game, and when you do see that and when you do get an aggressive defensive call, you really do have to take advantage of it.</p><p>“We have to do a better job of hitting our explosives when opportunities present themselves because against this group, they don’t give up explosive plays like that.”</p><h2><b>Bengals may need to play well early</b></h2><p>Starting quick is imperative, Burrow said.</p><p>“Paramount,” Burrow said. “You have to, otherwise they’re just going to eat the clock up and run the ball. You know how well they run it. So we have to start fast and get ourselves as many opportunities as we can.”</p><p>Of course, the Ravens <a href="https://www.wbaltv.com/article/ravens-build-momentum-heading-nfl-week-5-bengals-game/62500434" rel="noopener">have respect for</a> the Bengals, too, according to comments from head coach John Harbaugh on wbaltv.com.</p><p>“No question, they have really great skill,” Harbaugh said. “They always have. (It’s) a great scheme, (and) they have great receivers. And it doesn’t even stop with those two guys (Higgins and Chase). Those two guys are top shelf-type wide receivers, but I think they have great depth in their receiving corps.”</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
