He studied journalism and communication at UConn.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">NFL</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London made an appearance on a radio show this week after a comeback win against the Green Bay Packers, and he made a <a href="https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/drake-london-packers-game-showed-you-cant-ever-count-us-out" rel="noopener">definitive claim</a> about what that win shows.</p><p>“I don’t know if y’all could feel it, but I felt like maybe Green Bay felt like they put us in the casket a little early,” Drake London said, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Focus. “This team, don’t ever count us out. We’re going to still fight until we can’t fight no more, and that goes back to our motto. I’m gonna keep on saying it. Burn the boats. we’re a well-conditioned team, we’re an aggressive team, and we’re gonna go out there and give you our best for the whole time being. And I think that’s kind of where we caught them in the second half.”</p><p>The <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/falcons-news-bijan-robinson-run-vs-packers" rel="noopener">Falcons</a> were down 12 against the Packers before coming back and winning.</p><p>Although London played a key role in the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/falcons-news-jeff-okudah-acknowledges-lions-revenge-game-narrative-before-week-3-clash-in-detroit" rel="noopener">Falcons’</a> comeback against the Packers, Atlanta thrives when running the ball. They were the same way last year, and they look even better running the ball with the duo of Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier.</p><p>The Falcons will have their biggest test of the season in Week 3 when they go on the road to play the Detroit Lions. It will be interesting to see if Atlanta’s run game with Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier can be successful against the Lions defense. That didn’t stop after top receiver Drake London went without a catch in Atlanta’s opening game victory over the Carolina Panthers.</p><figure class="op-interactive"><blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p dir="ltr" lang="en">Falcons coach Arthur Smith, told that Drake London had one fewer reception than Desmond Ridder in today's win: "Let the fantasy guys worry about that. We've got to clean some things up … We don't care. Drake London doesn't care. Despite using two top-10 selections in the draft on tight end Kyle Pitts and receiver Drake London, the Falcons have been unable to give them the type of sustained usage and targets that their talent would demand in almost every other situation.</p><p>Atlanta is seemingly always going to be run-heavy under Smith. To his credit, the run game got the job done against the Panthers, with both Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier scoring touchdowns in the Week 1 win.</p><p>Still, it’s concerning just how comfortable Smith is with not getting his talented receivers the ball. London looked like one of the best rookie receivers last year, and Desmond Ridder should <a href="https://www.sportstalkatl.com/arthur-smith-brings-up-fantasy-football-in-response-to-question-about-drake-londons-quiet-afternoon/" rel="noopener">provide an upgrade</a> in terms of accuracy and ball placement from Marcus Mariota. Ridder was nearly perfect (15-for-18) on his pass attempts, but the Falcons ran the ball 26 times to just 18 pass attempts, with 9 of those completions going to running backs.</p><p>The Falcons are 1-0, and Smith may insist that London doesn’t care about his stats or fantasy football as long as the Falcons win. That all might be true, but the disconnect between management and coaching on using valuable draft capital on talented offensive players only to turn them into high-priced blockers might rear its ugly end if the winning stops.</p><p>Arthur Smith clearly doesn’t care about fantasy teams, but this kind of usage for Drake London and Kyle Pitts is going to be tough to win games with for the Falcons in the long term.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

He studied journalism and communication at UConn.</address><h3 class="op-kicker">NFL</h3><figure class="op-ad"></figure></header><p>The Atlanta Falcons are heading into the 2023 season hoping that second-year quarterback Desmond Ridder proves to be a franchise quarterback, and wide receiver Drake London believes that Ridder will <a href="https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/drake-london-desmond-ridder-will-silence-the-doubters" rel="noopener">prove the doubters wrong</a> this season.</p><p>“He only had four games last year,” Drake London said, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk. “People didn’t really see all of Dez… Now they get to see him and get see what he does, so I think he’ll shut a lot of people up and silence those doubters for sure.”</p><p>There is a lot of skepticism surrounding Desmond Ridder eventually becoming a franchise quarterback for the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/falcons-bold-predictions-2023-nfl-season" rel="noopener">Falcons</a>. He is a third-round pick from 2022, and only had four games to show what he could do last year, and now he will have the chance to show his abilities.</p><p>If Ridder does not perform well for the <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/falcons-roster-cuts-survivor-impact-2023" rel="noopener">Falcons</a>, the team could turn to Taylor Heinicke. Given that the Falcons used a third-round pick on Ridder, and are not as committed to him as they would a first-round pick, he could have a shorter leash than other young quarterbacks.</p><p>Ridder should have decent skill position players around him. Bijan Robinson is a highly-touted prospect that the Falcons drafted No. 8 overall in 2023. London himself is a former No. 8 pick as well. Tight end Kyle Pitts is very talented as well as a No. 4 overall pick in the 2021 draft.</p><p>If Ridder proves to be a solid quarterback, the Falcons could open up their offense to attack vertically with London and Kyle Pitts, rather than just leaning on Bijan Robinson to carry the offense.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

One player that many people are excited about is Drake London, a really good wide receiver for the Atlanta Falcons. He had a great rookie season last year, and now people want to know how he’ll do in fantasy football this year. Let’s take a closer look at what he did last year, how he compares to other players, and what we can expect from him in 2023.</p><h2><b>2022 Season Recap</b></h2><p>Last year was <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/falcons-desmond-ridder-kyle-pitts-drake-london" rel="noopener">Drake London’s first year</a> in the NFL. Needless to say, <a href="https://www.espn.ph/nfl/player/stats/_/id/4426502/drake-london" rel="noopener">he played really well</a> for the Atlanta Falcons. He did a great job, catching the football 72 times and gaining 866 yards, scoring four touchdowns. Even though his numbers might not make your eyes pop out, he was steady all year long and showed some really impressive moments. They threw the ball his way 117 times, which is a good sign for how he might do in fantasy football in the future. London saved his best for last, too. He put up 120 receiving yards on six catches against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the final game of the season. Many fantasy experts have him ranked anywhere between 25th to 40th in terms of the best wide receiver for fantasy football right now. However, some prospective managers think he could be even better, maybe even one of the top 15 wide receivers in 2023. One special thing about him is how big he is. He stands at around 6’4 tall and weighs 210 pounds. That makes him taller and heavier than most of the cornerbacks trying to cover him. This makes him a great choice when the team gets close to the end zone. Right now, we have him in the mid-20s alongside other wideouts like DJ Moore and Tyler Lockett.</p><h2><b>Team Situation</b></h2><p>The Atlanta Falcons had a particular way of playing last season, where they like to run with the ball more. This affected how well Drake London did in fantasy football. This year, however, we feel that London could be <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/we-sense-the-hype-drake-london-atlanta-ready-to-shock-the-nfl-in-2023-season" rel="noopener">ATL’s surprise offensive package</a>. Having Desmond Ridder as the new starting QB is nothing but good news for London. The Falcons also have a new coach in charge of the offense, Dave Ragone. Also, the Falcons are going to play some games against teams that aren’t so good at stopping wide receivers, which is a plus. All in all, London should get many chances this year. And when he does get the ball, he could do really well.</p><h2><b>2023 Fantasy Outlook</b></h2><p>As we think about the upcoming 2023 season, there’s a lot of hope that Drake London could be a big deal in fantasy football. Again, coach Ragone is known for making daring plays, so that should mean more chances for London to catch the ball and show his moves. And the schedule for the Falcons in 2023 is pretty good. These are <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/falcons-news-drake-london-leadership" rel="noopener">very good signs for him</a> to put up big numbers.</p><p>Last year, Drake London’s performance on the field was actually better than how he looked on the fantasy scoreboards. That’s mostly because the passes thrown to him weren’t always in the right spot. Even though he finished as the 43rd-best wide receiver in fantasy, people are really excited about him for 2023. He got the ball 117 times last year, which was a lot, and he was one of the players who got the most chances in the whole NFL. Of course, there are some other players on the team now, like Mack Hollins and Bijan Robinson, so that might take away some of his chances. But if you want to take a chance on a player with a lot of potential, you might want to pick Drake London as early as the 5th round.</p><h2><b>Looking Ahead</b></h2><p>Keep an eye on Drake London for the 2023 fantasy football season. He’s got the size, speed, and skill to be one of the best wide receivers out there. Sure, he had some ups and downs last year. The two previously faced off in college when London played for USC and Phillips III played for Utah. Their teams matched up in 2021 and both players made plays going up against the other.</p><p>Smith <a href="https://twitter.com/JoshTheAthletic/status/1684601536700162048?s=20" rel="noopener">recalled the old rivalry</a> as the two went at it on the field, saying, “That’s an old Pac-12 matchup. Is that over now, the Pac-12?” per Josh Kendall of The Athletic.</p><p>Thanks to the Falcons drafting Phillips III in the 4th round this year, London and Phillips III get to renew their rivalry in practice. Though each player won some snaps against the other, Phillips III was the main winner at Falcons training camp. Even with his limited height which was one factor that kept him from being a higher draft, Phillips was a standout at Utah, earning unanimous All-American and Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2022.</p><p>Drake London similarly was a standout at USC, which made him the first wide receiver taken off the board in the impressive 2022 rookie receiver draft class. In his first season with the Falcons, London recorded 72 receptions for 866 yards despite inconsistent quarterback play.
