It is a brutally physical sport that often leads to players being hurt. Week 8 of the 2025 NFL season was no exception. Savvy fantasy football managers understand the importance of following injury reports to make the most well-informed roster decisions each week.</p><p>So, I am tailoring this column through the lens of fantasy football. I will explore and detail injuries across the league and provide insight into the fantasy ramifications.</p><p>So, let’s get to it.</p><h2><b>Giants RB Cam Skattebo</b></h2><p>We will begin with what is the worst injury of the week: New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo’s ankle.</p><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/new-york-giants/giants-news-cam-skattebo-nasty-injury-teammates-distraught">Skattebo suffered a devastating ankle dislocation</a> during Sunday’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. It is one of those most people don’t want to see. If you are a basketball fan, think of Gordon Hayward’s debut with the Boston Celtics a few years ago.</p><p>Yeah, it was that ugly.</p><p>The rookie out of Arizona State is obviously done for the year. It is a massive blow to the Giants’ offense, and fantasy managers whose teams were propelled by Skattebo.</p><p>Week 1 starter Tyrone Tracy Jr. immediately becomes a must-add when waivers run this week. He very likely had been dropped in your league already. Going forward, you can project Tracy Jr. as a weekly flex play. But don’t get it twisted, he will not produce like Skattebo had been.</p><h2><b>Eagles RB Saquon Barkley</b></h2><figure><img src="https://wp.clutchpoints.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Eagles-RB-Saquon-Barkley-vs-Giants.jpg"><figcaption>© Bill Streicher-Imagn Images</figcaption></figure><p>In that same game, Eagles’ All-Pro tailback <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles/eagles-news-saquon-barkley-limps-off-blue-tent-apparent-injury-giants">Saquon Barkley also left early with an injury</a>.</p><p>The reigning Offensive Players of the Year suffered a groin injury vs. the Giants and did not return to the game. However, Eagles’ head coach Nick Sirianni said on Monday that it was nothing serious. He alluded to the fact that if the game had been closer, Barkley could have returned.</p><p>With Philly’s bye week coming up, he should be a full-go in Week 10. Fire him up as usual, although his season has not gone as planned.</p><h2><b>Browns tailback Quinshon Judkins</b></h2><p>It was a week of running back injuries, because we have another one on the list.</p><p>In the Cleveland Browns’ 32-13 loss to the New England Patriots, starting running back Quinshon Judkins got nicked up. He left early with a shoulder injury, which was a cause for concern for fantasy football managers.</p><p>After all, since his NFL debut in Week 2, he has been a rock-solid RB2 with three RB1 weekly finishes.</p><p>Thankfully for Browns fans and fantasy managers, you can breathe a sigh of relief. Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski said on Monday that <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/cleveland-browns/browns-news-quinshon-judkins-day-to-day-shoulder-injury-patriots-game">Judkins is day-to-day</a>. Similar to Barkley, Judkins will have an extra week to rest up and heal. The Browns are off in Week 9 and will face the lowly New York Jets coming out of the bye.</p><h2><b>Broncos WR Marvin Mims Jr.</b></h2><p>The first wide receiver on our list is Denver Broncos wideout Marvin Mims Jr.</p><p>The speedy receiver got knocked into next Sunday along the sidelines late in Denver’s win over the Dallas Cowboys. <a href="https://www.si.com/nfl/broncos/onsi/news/broncos-marvin-mims-concussion-protocol-huge-cowboys-win" rel="noopener">He is in the concussion protocol</a>. Despite facing a juicy matchup in Week 8, Mims disappointed with zero catches on one target. He ran the ball three times for 18 yards and was valuable in the return game. But that isn’t helping almost anyone in the fantasy football world.</p><p>He can safely be dropped, especially with a daunting matchup against the Houston Texans on tap (assuming he clears the concussion protocol).</p><h2><b>Bears WR Luther Burden III</b></h2><p>The Chicago Bears took a tough loss on Sunday, losing 30-16 at Baltimore against the Ravens. That wasn’t the only L sustained, though.</p><p>Wide receiver Luther Burden III suffered a concussion and was ruled out. Granted, only those in 16-team leagues are likely playing the rookie wideout. But if he does not clear the protocols for Week 9, both DJ Moore and Rome Adunze get a little bump in a plus matchup.</p><p>The Bears will face the Cincinnati Bengals, who just allowed Justin Fields to look like a Pro Bowler. Adunze can be counted on as a solid WR,2 with Moore offering flex value with upside.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

It was also Garrett’s career-high for sacks in a game, setting a new Browns franchise single-game record.</p><p>Unfortunately, the Browns wasted Garrett’s outing, falling to New England 32-13 and dropping to 2-6 on the season. Cleveland has a bye next week,” Rapoport wrote on X, formerly Twitter.</p><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/cleveland-browns/browns-news-how-cleveland-wildcat-quinshon-judkins-destroy-dolphins">Judkins has been key for the Browns</a> this season, as he rushed for 486 yards and five touchdowns. He had one of his biggest games last week against the Dolphins, as he finished with 25 carries for 84 yards and three touchdowns.</p><p>The good news is that the Browns have a bye week coming up, and their next matchup will be against the New York Jets in Week 10. If Judkins is not able to go when they return, Jerome Ford and Dylan Sampson will take over in the backfield.</p><p>Outside of Judkins, the Browns’ offense was not able to get much going in the run or pass game. On Sunday, Garrett put together yet another incredible individual performance for Cleveland, which went for naught, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/cleveland-browns/browns-news-heres-how-crazy-myles-garrett-5-sacks-19-point-loss">as the Browns suffered a 32-13 loss</a> at the hands of the New England Patriots on the road.</p><p>Garrett was a one-man wrecking machine for Cleveland’s stop unit. The former NFL draft top pick overall had six total tackles (all solo) and, more impressively, five sacks. The former Texas A&amp;M Aggies star pass rusher had all but one of the Browns’ six sacks on Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, but despite his efforts, the Browns picked up yet another loss, thus adding to the trend of the team wasting Garrett’s herculean showing on defense.</p><p>This brings us to Tungsten Arm O’Doyle, a made-up baseball entity by the internet. O’Doyle is a <a href="https://x.com/matttomic/status/1394498097254965249" rel="noopener">fictional baseball player invented</a> by then-Twitter user @matttomic to underscore Shohei Ohtani’s brilliant performances being wasted in Los Angeles Angels losses.</p><p>In a way, what Ohtani went through with the Angels, who did not make the MLB playoffs despite him winning two American League Most Valuable Player awards, is also what Garrett <a href="https://x.com/NateAtkins_/status/1982531558771998826" rel="noopener">has been experiencing</a> with the Browns.</p><p>“Five sacks for Myles Garrett in a game his team is losing 30-7. He is football’s Tungsten Arm O’Doyle,” The Athletic’s Nate Atkins shared in a post on X, formerly Twitter.</p><p>Garrett is undeniably one of the best defensive players of his generation, but since entering the NFL in 2017, he’s only seen action in three playoff games. He’s earned six Pro Bowls, four All-Pro nods and an AP Defensive Player of the Year Award, but when it comes to team success, he pales in comparison to many of his contemporaries.</p><p>And unlike Ohtani, who eventually found his way out of Anaheim and into a winning franchise in the form of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Garrett is bound to be with the Browns for years to come after he inked a four-year extension worth $160 million with Cleveland back in March.</p><p>Hopefully for Garrett and the 2-6 Browns, it will get better soon for them. Schwesinger leads Cleveland in tackles with 64,” reported NFL insider Jeremy Fowler on X, formerly Twitter.</p><p>Schwesinger played his college football for the UCLA Bruins and was selected by Cleveland in the second round this past April, quickly estabishing himself as a stalwart on their defensive unit, as Fowler noted in his post.</p><p>Overall, he had been one of the few positive things going for the Browns so far this season, so losing him for any extended period of time will certainly be a bitter pill to swallof for Cleveland fans.</p><p>Meanwhile, it was another lukewarm start for Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who completed just 21 of his 35 pass attempts for 156 yards, with two touchdowns and two interceptions on the afternoon. His 108.5th sack surpassed Hall of Famer Reggie White’s total, with Garrett still more than two months away from his 30th birthday.</p><p>This season, Garrett has already reached 10 sacks, stretching his streak of eight consecutive seasons with double-digit sacks, a tie for the second-longest streak in NFL history.</p><p>Regardless of Garrett’s dominance, Cleveland lost the game. Cleveland led 7-3 after an opening drive touchdown pass from rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel to tight end Harold Fannin Jr. Gabriel added a second touchdown to David Njoku, but also threw his first two interceptions of the season, both of which directly led to New England scores and shifted momentum.</p><p>Garrett kept the pressure on in the first half, including two red-zone sacks that forced the Patriots into field goals instead of touchdowns. In the third quarter, however, New England pulled away, scoring 21 points on a combination of big plays from quarterback Drake Maye, running back TreVeyon Henderson, and receiver Mack Hollins.</p><p>Linebacker Robert Spillane contributed with an interception that set up another New England touchdown, and Garrett’s sack on Maye couldn’t prevent the Patriots from ultimately reaching the end zone.</p><p>The Browns enter their bye week with a 2-6 record, and will return to action against the New York Jets on Nov. 8 at MetLife Stadium.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

Instead, Drake Maye and the Pats showed everyone that Cleveland isn’t on their level, with the Browns suffering a lopsided 32-13 defeat. With the loss, Cleveland dropped deeper below .500, as it now sports a 2-6 record.</p><p>Adding more to Cleveland’s headaches is the health status of rookie linebacker Carson Schwesinger. The first-year NFL player suffered a lower-body injury in the Patriots game and is <a href="https://x.com/RapSheet/status/1982549231878701425" rel="noopener">now expected to miss more than just a week to recover</a>.</p><p>“Browns LB Carson Schwesinger, one of the best rookies in a stellar class, is believed to have suffered a high-ankle sprain, source said. He’ll have an MRI, but those are typically 4-6 week injuries. He left the locker room in a boot,” shared Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network via a post on X, formerly Twitter.</p><p>It’s a disappointing turn of events for Schwesinger. He’s played well this season, including against the Patriots. Before he left the contest, he posted five total tackles and a pass defended. More impressively, he picked off Maye, the New England quarterback’s only interception thrown versus the Browns. It was also the former UCLA Bruins star linebacker’s first interception of his young NFL career.</p><p>Schwesinger is leading the Browns in tackles this season, with 59 entering the showdown against New England. His absence will very likely be felt by Cleveland’s defense, which was far from its top form in Week 8. The Patriots gushed the Browns’ stop unit for 422 total yards and 23 first downs.  That said, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/cleveland-browns/browns-news-heres-how-crazy-myles-garrett-5-sacks-19-point-loss">Browns star pass rusher Myles Garrett had five sacks</a> and six total tackles.</p><p>Maye passed for 282 yards and three touchdowns on 18-of-24 pass completions. Browns starter Dillon Gabriel, on the other hand, only threw for 156 passing yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions on 21-of-35 completions.</p><p>Losers in four of their last five games, the Browns have a bye ahead in Week 9, which comes at a convenient time for Schwesinger, as he recuperates from his injury.</p><p>Cleveland will resurface on the field in Week 10 with a matchup against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

It was a rough outing from the beginning, as the team couldn’t get anything going on offense. The frustrations may be boiling over as well, as it sounds like wide receiver Jerry Jeudy stiffed a reporter after the game.</p><p>Dan Labbe of Cleveland.com claims that Jeudy, who is 26 years old, didn’t stop to talk with him on his way <a href="https://x.com/dan_labbe/status/1982548180236648684" rel="noopener">out of the locker room</a>. Labbe says that the former first-round pick informed him that he “had to go,” as his excuse to not stop and talk.</p><p>“Tried to stop Jerry Jeudy on his way out of locker room, and he said ‘I have to go’ and kept walking.”</p><p>Jeudy ended Sunday’s loss with not a single stat recorded after having just two balls thrown his way. The Patriots’ defense had the Browns locked down throughout the day and made Jerry Jeudy a non-factor for quarterback Dillon Gabriel.</p><p>Through eight games played so far this season, the 2024 Pro Bowler has had it rough. He’s only reeled in 22 receptions for 257 yards while failing to record a single touchdown yet. It’s a completely different story from the 2024-25 campaign, as Jerry Jeudy managed to serve as the top wide receiver in the Browns’ offense, finishing last season with 90 receptions, 1,229 yards, and four touchdowns.</p><p>It’s been a wildly frustrating year, <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/cleveland-browns/browns-news-myles-garrett-breaks-sack-record-drake-maye-patriots">despite Browns’ star Myles Garrett</a> and the defense playing well, for the most part. And still, his Cleveland Browns fell 32-13 to the New England Patriots in Week 8.</p><p><a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/cleveland-browns/browns-news-myles-garrett-breaks-sack-record-drake-maye-patriots">Garrett put up an unreal five sacks</a>. The Browns star is now up to 112.5 for his career.</p><p>Getting to the quarterback has never been a problem for Garrett. Outside of his rookie season, he has amassed double digit sacks in every season of his NFL career. His peak is 16, hit in both 2021 and 2022. Furthermore, Garrett hasn’t had fewer than 12 dating back to 2020. His efforts have earned him Six Pro Bowl nominations, four All-Pro nods and the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year.</p><p>What Garrett hasn’t gotten a lot of in Cleveland though is wins. The Browns have been to the playoffs twice during his tenure, but never advanced past the Divisional Round. Including their Week 8 loss, Cleveland has won just five games over their past two seasons.</p><p>No fault of Garrett though. There isn’t much more he can do when he is recording five sacks. Now 2-6 on the season, the Browns are once again headed towards missing the playoffs. They’ll need to make a quick turnaround or risk continuing to waste the prime of Garrett’s career.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>

They head into their bye with a lot of questions to answer, especially at quarterback. Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski was asked those questions on Sunday, but avoided them <a href="https://x.com/AkronJackson/status/1982542476117488112" rel="noopener">multiple times before committing</a> to Dillon Gabriel.</p><p>“Stefanski: ‘We’re going to look at everything,’ Said it twice while talking around the question about whether Gabriel will remain the starter. And, I think the answer is yes.”</p><p>The Browns got an epic performance from <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/nfl/cleveland-browns/browns-news-myles-garrett-breaks-sack-record-drake-maye-patriots">Myles Garrett, who racked up a franchise-record five sacks. </a>Outside of that, Cleveland was dreadful on both sides of the ball. The game was capped off by Gabriel taking an intentional grounding penalty in the end zone, giving the Patriots a safety.</p><p>The Browns started the season with Joe Flacco as their quarterback before turning to the rookie Gabriel. They traded Flacco to the Cincinnati Bengals, making fellow rookie Shedeur Sanders the next option. With Sanders hurt this week, Bailey Zappe was the backup. While Gabriel has been poor, neither of those players has risen to steal the job.</p><p>The Browns face the 1-7 Jets coming out of the bye. While they finally got their first win on Sunday, Aaron Glenn’s squad provides a winnable game to everyone they face. On a day in which they were already struggling, the Browns lost their best offensive player when rookie running back Quinshon Judkins exited with an injury.</p><p>Judkins left the game with a shoulder injury early in the second half after falling hard on his right side. He has <a href="https://x.com/TomPelissero/status/1982528860387528887" rel="noopener">since been ruled out</a> for the game, per NFL insider Tom Pelissero.</p><p>Judkins left the game with just 19 rushing yards on nine carries. He added three catches, but ended with -2 passing yards.</p><p>The Ohio State alum entered Week 8 with over 80 rushing yards in four of his previous five games. However, the Patriots, who entered the game allowing the third-fewest rushing yards per game, were well prepared to halt his momentum.</p><p>The Browns were already down multiple scores at the time of his injury, which likely factored into his being ruled out. Cleveland turned to Dylan Sampson and Jerome Ford to fill the void for the remainder of the games.</p><p>Neither Sampson nor Ford was any more effective than Judkins. Sampson fielded three carries but ended with zero rushing yards, while Ford caught one pass for -1 receiving yards.</p><p>Judkins was thoroughly outdueled by Patriots rookie and <a href="https://clutchpoints.com/ncaa-football/ohio-state-football-news-ryan-day-thoughts-treveyon-henderson-quinshon-judkins">former Ohio State teammate TreVeyon Henderson</a>, who took his 10 carries for a career-high 77 rushing yards. Henderson accounted for more rushing yards by himself than the Browns had as a team.</p><p>The Browns could only muster 213 total yards in the game, as Dylan Gabriel struggled yet again. Gabriel completed just 21 of his 35 passes for 156 passing yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.</p><figure class="op-tracker"></figure></article>    </body></html>
